Knicks DRAFTING Zach Edey – Latest Projections Have 7’4 Center Landing in New York | Knicks News

the New York Knicks are now projected to Land Zack Ed in the 2024 NBA draft according to CBS Sports and we have to talk about this so what’s up guys welcome back to Nicks digest it’s Chris here and we’re going to jump right into the video because according to CBS Sports the New York Knicks are projected to Draft Zack Ed at 24th overall and what they had to say about it is that Ed was the best player in college basketball over the last two seasons and while there may be questions about his NBA fit such as his shooting and his core coverage in space that will likely be a team willing to on him somewhere in this range and with the Knicks owning back-to-back picks in 24 and 25 they can stand to roll the dice a little bit with the big man with a big game in Ed who has had a strong pre-draft process now yes the New York Knicks will have the 24th and the 25th pick overall but I already said there’s no chance they don’t trade one of them one of those two picks is going to get moved I don’t know which one but they’re going to move one of those picks they’re not picking back toback they don’t want that many rookies on the team anyway tibs isn’t going to play him so they’re going to figure why draft him the Knicks are so deep they don’t need to play multiple rookies also who are late round first round picks but look Zaki D is the biggest name in the NBA draft outside of maybe one person who is only a name because let’s face it his dad is hanging up on my wall over there and is widely regarded to be one of the two best players in NBA history now every time I say that he’s the greatest ever people flip out because I understand Nicks fans we don’t really like LeBron I do I’m sorry I just I think he’s funny but um look House part is great and you guys should just watch watch it it’s a super fun movie but that’s not what I’m here to talk about look outside of Brony James maybe zakie D is the biggest name in this draft not to many people even know who Alexandre SAR is and he’s going to be picked first overall by the Atlanta Hawks or maybe it’s GNA be Zachary Risser I don’t know how to pronounce his name because this draft is terrible but look Zach Ed at this point I don’t know if he’s going to fall the 24th but CBS Sports projects that he does this was a mock draft done yesterday so it’s not like this has been pre-draft there is still a chance to Zack Ed slips when you look at him he has all the markings of someone who’s going to be great in college and not going to be able to fit in the NBA game but I’m not too sure about that now in college he averaged 25.2 points per game with 12.2 rebounds he shot 62% from the field that 50% from three is a very low volume like one and two threes or something as you can see it’s also for his career and had a 39.3 PR which is just flat out disturbing also he has every single award known to man in college basketball history zaki’s genuinely one of the most dominant forces that college basketball has seen over the last 40 years I think you take a chance on that yeah maybe it doesn’t work so what the Nick have enough big man that will’ll be fine but I think you take that chance okay he can’t move his feet too fast the Knicks play Drop coverage anyway so what’s the big deal you could learn how to just completely play Drop Like the Knicks do regardless so then zachi won’t have to guard people on the perimeter anyway he’s 7 fo4 his block timing is incredible he’s great at rebounding he boxes out hard he does doesn’t just bet on his jumping and his height he bets on his fundamentals also I think you take a risk on him if you’re the Knicks if he’s available at 24 just scoop him up why not I mean look is tibs gonna play that 24th overall pick anyway hell no so might as well just throw Ed in there gives you a little more room to if you decide to trade Mitchell robinsson this off season you can use Edie as a backup five I think that’d be pretty fun and oh no what if he doesn’t work out well they have Jericho Sims maybe they’ll bring back precious AA after all they’ll have options these options make it huge for the New York Knicks and I think they should Draft Zack Edy and he had a monster showing in the draft combine he as it’s highlighted here Ed showed off an impressive ability to knock down pullup jumpers and three-point shots during his workouts he also wanted to prove to NBA Scouts that he’s capable of initiating offense and can be used effectively in the pick and roll game look I don’t know who’s saying that Zach e can’t be used in the pick and roll game but he’s 7 foot4 he’s 74 he can play a pick and roll game he’s a big 74 he’s not some gangly 74 like wanyama where it’s like oh my God he might sneeze and his body might just crack in half no Zach is a filled out 7 foot4 he can run he can set a good screen and then just roll right off it it’s not that hard to set the screen and then just roll it’s real easy Zaki is a very fundamentally sound basketball player I think he can do that he’s a lot better than people give him credit for there’s ways you can utilize him Tom Tibido is an excellent coach at defense he can get Edy to sit on that low block on defense and make everyone live everyone’s life hell and believe me Edy will be able to do it from day one cuz as I mentioned he’s 74 and he’s a big 74 Zach can go into basketball right now in the NBA and be a role player instantly I’m not saying a good role player but he can come off the bench and play I guarantee that if you get that at 24th overall is be proud of yourself for your basketball team most 24th overall picks don’t stick around very often the NBA draft is a complete crap shoit sometimes the first overall pick is a guarantee like wemy like Zion who’s always injured like I don’t know LeBron and all them and you know I mean Anthony Edwards wasn’t I was going to say Edwards but no he wasn’t a guarantee people were afraid of people want to trade the Timberwolves couldn’t find a way to trade out of that first overall spot despite the fact that they were trying to do so don’t forget that the NBA draft is a guessing game you don’t know what’s going to happen with these prospects no one does so how about you take a chance on a fundamental player like Zach EDI I think that would make sense now Ed finished his combine workout hitting 60% 18 for 30 of his shots off the dribble for his group aka Big men that is only behind Yukon Center Donovan kingan who 7’2 shot 63% so literally made one more shot he also connected on 14 of 25 shots from three-point range that’s talking about Ed and here’s the thing about Donovan kingan he’s going in the top five I think the Wizards are going to pick him third overall I think it’d be a mistake not to kingan shows that he’s going to be a great defender in the NBA he’s got somewhat of a mid of a mid-range game also I think they should take Donovan Klingon I think he’s an excellent Prospect I think honestly I I’m i’ take SAR first I would because you get the potential of a jiren Jackson type player which is the highest potential you’re going to see in this draft in that top five but I’d go with Kling and second overall I understand that maybe that’s not the sexiest player to draft but it’ll work he’ll work I think the Wizards if they get a chance to pick him third they’re going to win but this is not about the Wizards or Donovan kingan I’m just a fan of kingan’s game and I think that he’ll be I kind of think he’s gonna win Rookie of the Year personally um I think SAR is going to have have a rough go in his first year in the NBA and might never figure it out but I think Donovan kingan will in and instantly average two 2.3 blocks per game but again not really about Donovan kingan I just got a little distracted I have not made enough draft videos and that’s going to change guys and that’s why I wanted to do this one now Zach spoke out on this and said when you see someone who’s 7 fo4 300 lb you assume some things you assume that he can’t move his feet you assume that he can’t shoot you assume he can’t be mobile you assume he’s injury-prone a lot of things come with being 7 fo4 300 lb but I think I can do a lot of things that most people don’t think I can like you know be one of the Great greatest college basketball players I’ve ever seen move my feet shoot the ball you see what people who are 7 foot4 don’t usually make their free throws I can do that I can do things people don’t expect I just got to keep showing I can do it I mean that confidence is also a major part in it Zach’s confident himself he just played awesome college basketball for two years in a row yeah it didn’t amount to an NCAA Championship and not too many times does any run in college one team wins Yukon was stacked up between Donovan King and Stefon Castle a team great role players of course they won Ed was alone he scored over half produced points that game in the in the finals he did a great job he was balling out he was out dueling Donovan kingan for sure now kingan did great against him because as I said Donovan Kling is gonna be a great defender in the NBA but Zack Edy was still putting it on him Zack Ed’s good man if he falls to 24 Nicks take him trade that 25th pick you get out of there with a smile on your face that is the move you make guys do you want Zach Edy do you think he’ll be there
