Hey y’all, serious question. I’m a hockey guy that only recently started paying attention to basketball (thanks jokster). In hockey, there’s some shit talking, but after a series is over people usually move on and find a new team to root for. In hockey, the players can just beat the piss out of each other on the ice, so I’m guessing that keeps players more honest.
I’ve noticed in basketball people take things a lot more personally: bitching about individual players, raiding other teams’ subreddits, and generally displaying a complete lack of sportsmanship. Is this common to basketball, or is Reddit just bringing the worst attitudes to the forefront?
Can this sub stop being so butt hurt. Our team lost because they were ice cold and played like shit. It’s not the Wolves’ fault. They played a few absolutely excellent games and some bad ones but less bad than our guys

I do not really have a problem with him. From what I have seen in Press conferences and miked up, he is fine and a good leader. It is the media pushing him hard as the next MJ when he has few accolades and no hardware to date. The media agrees that they are built to beat Denver, but needed 7 games to do so. In game 7 they won by 8 while basically playing only Jokic(who was gassed in the fourth) and Murray(who played a shitty 2, half). He is currently not worth the hype imo, but sadly forced into a narrative that he himself does not like.
