Jayson Tatum talks Game 3 win vs Pacers, Postgame Interview 🎤

questions for Jason Jason you guys are obviously sort of trying to dig out of a hole for a lot of that game what allowed you guys to flip the game around the way you did over the final couple minutes yeah I think uh you know it was one of those timeouts in the third quarter uh you know Joe just kind of told us stop feeling sorry for ourselves um and you know whatever situation we in you know that’s the situation that we’re in and uh I’m so us to to figure it out uh you know we kind of felt lucky that you know we were playing as you know as bad first day as as we were and how well they were shooting the ball and we were only down you know 13 14 points on the road and we still had a lot of lot of time left to win the game uh so you know one of those timeouts maybe with like five minutes left in the third uh you know we kind of turned it around and then uh obviously was quite the pass like 45 seconds AG go to hit out in that in the corner on that three sort of what what did you see on that play as it played out and you know how much is your confidence grown as a playmaker to AB make a play like that in a moment like that yeah uh you know I dho I attacked downhill had topping with me uh and and Miles Turner I knew miles was Gard Al uh and you know just reads we always talk about spacing making sure we in the right spots uh and you know I trusted that he was going to be there he trusted that I would make the right read and um that was a hell of a shot that he made scary Jason why didn’t you guys kind of relent I mean it you guys could have easily just said okay let’s get ready for game four and you guys just kept trying even though you guys had so many chances in the fourth quarter with Miss threes to kind of chip away and it just seemed like you guys were just refused to kind of give up or you know what what put that in you uh I mean we believe we we believe that we still could win this game there was a lot of time left um you know it’s damn sure not time to to to to give up uh or even you know have that thought creeping into your mind we that never we never thought that and and any timeout that we had any guy that was on their Court uh you know we knew that we could play better and if we did play better we would give oursel a chance uh and that was just the mindset throughout the game Justin Jason Drew question will coming into tonight makes the big play at the end there just what about his performance and his ability to show up and make plays like that uh I mean I can’t speak highly enough about Drew right uh the ultimate teammate competitor obviously a champion and you know wasn’t that shoot around today he was sick dealing with um chills and stuff like that and you know we’ve all been there how tough that is to to fight through it and uh you know for him to come out there and lay it all on the line for us and you know make the game winning play essentially especially on the defensive end uh you know Drew is just a big time player and he he made a tremendous play Bobby Jason I know over here um you and Joe talk a lot about adjustments you know the whole team does what was that conversation like before you guys went into the zone and what kind of impact did you see the Zone have on the game when you guys went to it yeah I mean slowed him down a little bit uh but you know still you know when we started to come back and and make a run and and take control of the game uh it was just about who wanted it more right when we were man in zone at start the game or whatever um we didn’t match their intensity they were playing you know uh with so much freedom and pace and they were getting into the paint whenever they wanted uh so at you know that late in the game it wasn’t about making adjustments it was it was about just making plays like we had to get stops we had to help each other we had to get rebounds um regardless of man the zone or whatever coverage we were in um it was just a choice that we had to make Jason after Drew steel and he gets the foul you’re kind of at midcourt but out like a primal yell your coaches were all screaming after the Nesmith shot missed post game it seemed like you guys were kind of lingering on the court in like a greater celebration than normal like why did this feel like such it looked like it felt like such a kind of Mountaintop moment for you guys what was kind of the the explanation for all that uh I wouldn’t say Mountaintop but uh you watched the game didn’t you that was intense game three is always for me I I always enjoy the most game three of the series like going into the opponent’s um Home Building you know it’s their first first home game um the crowd was electric um they haven’t lost a home game since like March 18th uh so we knew it was going to be tough we knew it was going to be a tough battle uh and just it took everything for us to win this game um being down 18 we needed every stop every deflection every rebound um every shot that you know we made we need it um you know every ounce of that so as a competitor um when you play this game you know it’s a very emotional sport right and we want to win um and you let that out you know when when you make plays like that um bck John Jared and final question to Tim you guys OB been a lot of gring series over the years but to be able to put yourself in this position now going up 3 0 one way one way how big is that for you guys just in terms of getting to your ultimate goal here uh it’s it’s huge the way that we’ve been playing throughout this postseason um you know I can’t give enough credit to the coaches and my teammates um we’ve we’ve been up for every challenge um it is it’s looked different every single night uh but we’ve answered the call uh and you know we’re in a great position right now obviously one win away from the finals but uh we know for one second we can’t relax like we was a year ago we was down 03 and we figured out a way to force it to seven um so you know we not we not looking past Monday or anything like that we just taking it one game at a time and knowing we have a special opportunity to go back to the finals Joe talked about embracing the fact that you’re down as much as you were you just talked about he said stop feeling sorry for yourselves what what does feeling sorry for yourself like look like when when he’s telling you to stop doing whatever it was that you’re doing what was it was it getting too caught up in the refs was it getting too caught up in in something like what does that look like uh culmination of all those things right you know maybe things weren’t going our way we weren’t hitting shots at the time uh it seemed like they was coming down and scoring every single time and right uh maybe we were slow to bring the ball up the court when we would get scored on we might put our head down um just felt like wasn’t going our way uh and and Joe always talks about like it’s not always going to go how we wanted to or how we expected to um and that’s okay like it’s okay to be down 15 or 17 on the road um and still have an opportunity to win the game Drew Drew is the one guy in the locker room with the ring you see him make those Big M those big plays at the end uh especially just deciding to go and take on seaks you saw SE yakum just on his heels a little bit in attacked how have you what have you seen from Drew as far as his feel for like when are like the big moments that can actually flip a game flip a title run potentially yeah uh I think his instincts are second to none um on both ends of the floor right whether it’s knocking down a big three or you know he had two big offens of rebounds one he tipped it in and one he brought it back out um and then obviously on defense uh you know and and Joe GI Drew so much Freedom um throughout the game of you know obviously we have coverages but you know Drew is is especially the one guy who can roam or um you know whatever he sees where whether it’s a gamble or if he wants to switch the defense or the matchups or he has that freedom uh cuz we we all trust him so much and he’s been in so many big moments uh that you know know he uh he just makes big plays all the time you’ve obviously uh not hit as many shots as you would want I guess particularly from three in these playoffs you got off to a huge start to get 15 in the first quarter then I think you finished Five for 10 for three hit the big three late was that a concerted effort from you to try to get off to a quicker start today and how did that help lead to the night you had overall shooting the ball uh I think just like I said game threes um are always have been like my favorite games to play in uh and I think it’s important even if I’m not you know scoring the ball just to come out there with a certain level of intensity um kind of set the tone cuz you know it’s it’s a hostile environment they’re back home and crowd is into it um so just trying to set the tone for our team on both ends of the floor send a message um and you know I I never get concerned about my my shots or anything uh you know I always feel like the next one is going to go in and uh you know just always stick with my routines shoot with confidence make the right plays and um you know it normally works out thanks Jason

  1. He went straight to the pacers strength and the celtics weaknesses, that mindset's the reason why their up this series 👌🏾

  2. Drew Holiday is as good as it gets. Not flashy and you hardly notice him, but almost always makes the big play when it matters most. Great player.

  3. I watched that no look behind the back fake lay up pass to horford several times i just cant believe how smooth it was

  4. Honestly, wtf are these questions? People complain about players giving cliché answers but man, sinew is these questions are so stupid, they add 0 value, would be ashame to have such a platform and ask such dumb qs instead of asking about schemes or matchups

  5. Man I need the Warriors management to give Curry more help we need a legit team . Now in regards to this video the Celtics need to finally get themselves a ring already .

  6. Once Tatum win a chip everything would change. what’s sad is the media is trying to make him the villain. He a great dude great teammate good off the floor no issue a great dad like seriously the media hates Tatum and these fake nba analyst. They treat d book better than Tatum and Dbook hasn’t done nothing they treat ja Morant like a god and he is nba youngboy off floor. They treat Luka like he made basketball literally dude has never won a chip never been number one in his conference never won mvp like Tatum never seen a final but he gets pass not to mention he missed the playoffs last year Tatum hasn’t even thought about missing it yet….

  7. absolutely This is not the same Celtics team we’ve seen in years past I think they finally get over the hump this year, and they're going for the larry o brien trophy this year KP also on the way back. Scary hours looming

  8. all playoff Boston haven't play a good team all of their wins was easy . so they gonna meet either the Wolfs or the Mav and either one of those team gonna send Boston packing
