Los Angeles Lakers NEW 3&D Workout After MASSIVE DJ Burns Impresses ft. Redick, Lebron, & Bronny

the Los Angeles Lakers have officially kicked off the audition process for upcoming draft prospects and unexpectedly one of the very first names was March Madness sensation DJ Burns despite being out of a large majority of mock drafts his commitment to transform his body over the summer reportedly losing 45 lbs along with his refreshing physical bullyball play style has made him an intriguing post-draft option amongst the purple and gold fan base ideally though the front office is able to bring in prospects with a more modern skill set capable of complimenting LeBron James and Anthony Davis as versatile Defenders and reliable Force basers which is exactly what they proceeded to do with yesterday’s workout that was held for Florida State seminal forward jir Watkins Watkins is a three-year product listed at 6′ 7 with over 610 wingspan and he’s gained a reputation for being a rangy versatile Defender who could do a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor for a team like the Los Angeles Lakers who seem to always lack adequate size strength in shooting specifically at the small forward position it makes complet compl sense as to why Rob plinka in the front office prioritized bringing in jir Watkins who is currently projected to be available where the Lakers will be making their late second round pick but before we dive more into the type of player that jir Watkins is how he was able to make huge strides in his junior year and what you could potentially offer the Lakers from day one let me know down in the comment section below if the Lakers get to keep their first round pick that being the 17th overall pick do you want to see a Lakers trade it as part of a win now deal or roll the dice on a prospect who go will hopefully contribute immediately jir Watkins has been a name flying under the radar and is projected to be at the very tail end of the draft partially because Watkins is a late bloomer who didn’t establish himself as a starter until his junior year transfer to FSU and he’s already one of the oldest rookies in this draft class at 23 years old nonetheless Watkins has clearly made enough noise in his time at FSU to catch the attention of a Lakers skying Department coming off a breakout season where he averaged 15 1 12 points six rebounds nearly three assist two blocks and about one steal per game while shooting 34% from Beyond Arc it should be a little more obvious now as to why the Lakers have brought him in and why Jamir Watkins draft stock is where it’s currently at watkins’s high motor on both ends of the floor is put on full display when he watches activity on the court and it’s reflected in how he absolutely fills up the stat sheet it’s already impressive that Watkins is able to pull down six rebounds per game for his position at the Collegiate level but he enters extremely rare territory when you compound that with the fact that walks away with nearly two Steals on a nightly basis and then you layer on top to 0.8 blocks per game it gives any Scout a tremendous amount of confidence that Watkins has a foundation to be a gritty willing to do whatever it takes type role player at the next level the caveat to that would have to be the fact that Watkins struggles as a floor spacer as he’s never shot over 35% from bi Arc in all three seasons at college and it makes for a pretty significant Aster for today’s game Watkins has unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you want to see it found himself C categorized as a classic jack of all trades master of n where as the phrase implies he’s good at a little bit of everything but not really good at one thing more so specifically talk about his offensive abilities looking at the big picture though as a projected second round pick maybe even post-draft acquisition wouldn’t it still be worth it to roll the dice on jir Watkins even if he’s essentially serving as a younger version of former Lakers Stanley Johnson so let me know down in the comment section below if you were the Los Angeles Lakers would you try to acquire jir Watkins with your second round pick if not then who also what current or former NBA player does jir Watkins remind you of but that’s it for video take it easy guys [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music]

  1. @2:00 correction -> *Watkins averaged 15.5 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 STEALS and nearly 1 BLOCK per game.
