Finding that last elusive bigman has been like finding Bigfoot since the Zaza/Mcgee/West era. Here’s what I would do (as armchair GM) to address what I think is the teams biggest structural need the “one more bigman” situation… I think our biggest need is on the coaching and system modernization (offense and defense) side of things. But one rock steady big would do wonders.
Second round pick on a big… whoever falls in this order of precedence Darron Holmes II (first rounder though). Ulrich Chomche. Adem Bona. Oso Ighadaro. PJ Hall. Coleman Hawkins (he’s kinda a huge wing tbh). Use a second round exception on them if you REALLY trust them to contribute.
Then in free agency try to deal for RW3 as a distressed asset. Go after Goga Bitadze, Jalen Smith, Dominik Barlowe and Sandro from the Spurs. Hopefully you get 2X bigs there. Free agency is always a bummer esp ciz you can’t even say what we’ll have available without knowing the Klay/CP3 decisions. Then 2/3 of serviceable bigs stay put.
If you get 3X bigs… playing the odds one will is a square hit. Now that i think of it last year we actually did similar with TJD Dario Garuba and we went 1 for 3. All you gotta do is go 1 for 3. Thats my oberly simplistic view on it. How would you go about finding that elusive last big fella?

I know nba contracts are an unfixable situation for small market teams that just have to pay up, but itās so bad. How is KAT making $55 mil to put up 18/9 over the playoffsā¦heās realistically a 3rd option on a great team. How is a 36 yr old Lillard gonna be making $60 mil? Or Beal? Like itās so untenable to team building
You have to hope that your best players all have some late ass 5th year breakouts so that you can underpay on the extensions. Basically a team of Lowry & Siakam type players lol.
And even then, 3-4 years before the overpay comes šµāš«

r/NBA now realizing what Warriors fans have always known, Gobert is a liability on defense. I’m baffled it took this long

fo should be taking notes what Dallas’ 2 clutch shot makers surrounded by good and long defenders could do. If we could trade for just DeJounte Murray who is clutch, we are already lucky at that given our cap situation.
