let’s talk last night Paul tip us off here your biggest takeaway well the biggest takeaway is the Stars starring starred they starred and staring yeah I mean Minnesota continues to make the same mistakes night in and night out they leave towns gobear and McDaniels on the island with arguably the best one-on-one players as a combination our game now I just I just I think the I think the Minnesota wolves are are are mentally broken I I really do and I said they’re not making the necessary adjustments the adjustment was hey yeah Edwards has to play better I thought he played better up until the fourth quarter he was he he gave him some signs of life well he had one big surge man yeah in the third quarter he went up with that monster dunk I thought hey okay here we go and he ran off like seven points y gave his team some life and I’m like all right this is the guy who we we’ve been W all these games but he just doesn’t have a running mate to go with him cat continues to struggle you can’t have that trying to get to if you’re trying to get to the next level if you’re trying to get to the finals youro Robin has to come through for you at some point Y and I’m really not too sure that cat can be your second best player on the champion I ship team uh maybe he can maybe he can he has the offensive tools yeah but they don’t I don’t think they use them the right way I think they need to put him in a post a little bit more he’s floating around the three too much for me and the adjustment was Nas Reed I believe he these look at Town Reed and Edwards have Fally played a total of 30 minutes in this series and I said after game one that was the adjustment two to mean together together they have them that’s the that’s the three I think need to play together a lot of times they’re playing Nas Reed would go be that’s not the adjustment you need these two guys to spread the court allow allow Edwards to some room to penetrate and I just think the coaching the coaching disparity is is a bigger Gap than we think yeah I mean Jay kid is one of the brilliant basketball minds and emerging as one of the top coaches in the game and these are he’s making a little adjustments that I’m not seeing on the Minnesota side you have two of the best closers in the game going one one down the stretch what are you doing over there are we going to continue to see the repeat of the cosmes every night I mean I don’t we going to keep watching the same show that’s true yeah good point I mean come on like there hasn’t been an adjustment so you know I said five games this is a sweep skip I don’t see I don’t see Minnesota getting out of this fox hole because I don’t see the necessary players with the mental capacity to get him out of this Foxhole even if Derek Lively cannot play even if Dereck Lively can’t play I mean my Superstar is a young player he’s way ahead of the curve he got tired I I don’t know I just don’t think Anthony Edwards he got tired and you know I think that went a long way after game one and telling me the mental makeup of this team because you know maybe they you know they have a strong young start I I believe that he was tired but I also believe that he didn’t have to say that either and I think Dallas saw some chinks in the armor I said that yeah and was like they they feeding off of that right now so this is a sweep uh Dallas does not want to go to Minnesota give leave leave a crack of the window open they get the job done Tuesday night in Dallas and they’ll be back in the finals again since 2011 all right Kean sound like a repeat of what Paul said basically I mean it’s got It’s because when you’re looking at the game skip you gonna see the same things Paul’s talking about you talking about the star St the other guys didn’t Luca and Kyrie you talk about things that they did combin for 21 points in the fourth quarter they were eight of 10 from shooting the for basketball not including free thr by the way that outscored Minnesota by one point 21 to 20 right those two together that’s just those two right there so it’s a repeat of what Paul is saying when you talk about you’re thinking about how these guys defensively got into trouble well you talk about McDaniels he played with five fouls you talk about connley with five Rudy gobear is supposed to be the rim protector supposed to be the defensive guy he just I don’t even know why sometimes I wonder why he’s even out on the court y okay yeah he can he can alter and make people change their shot trajectory and do some things like that but he’s such a liability man when he removes himself out of the paint at any moment even when he’s in the paint he’s he I don’t know he’s just like so he’s a defensive and offensive liability me I think so think about it when he’s not underneath that Rim he’s a liability he becomes a liability then on the officer end Luca picked his pocket cookies give me that and laughed so that just told you right there he like man y’all really got this dude trying to back me down and he’s not even a defensive player so now you got a go bear problem when it feels like Nas re should be the guy there now if you want to flip and go to the offensive edge of offensive game in basketball for Minnesota call Anthony towns self-proclaimed big men shooter the best ever was that’s what he said you can’t be 0 eight I’m okay with you saying it but you got to be eight of eight you can’t be 0 for eight you can’t be in this series 3 to 22 16 13.6% shooting from the ark you can’t be that right skip you can’t be four of what 35 I think it is it’s two 3 four of 32 from three in the last games which is the worst for 30 or more attempts in the history of basketball do that if you you cannot do that especially when you got a guy out there and Anthony Edwards that did what I said what did I say I said he’s got to have not in this particular game but just in general when they get in these bad situations you got to have a highlight real dunk and what did he do he highlight real dunk in the third quarter with made you go oh wa what just oh it was some other words used of that Skip and they got him a nice little run he had 10 points in the third quarter nice run but they didn’t capitalize on it to rest of the game then Derek Lively doesn’t play the second half you don’t take advantage of that situation at all and you don’t know how to get the ball out of Kyrie or Luca’s hand okay you got to take the ball out of their hands at some point you got to just say I don’t care three people get on this dude I got to you know take the problem is there are two dudes I I get it but you but they’re not on the court they wasn’t on the court in the beginning of the fourth quarter together so Luka didn’t play the first 323 so on that 3 323 I need number 11 I need y’all to just whatever y’all do run up on him and scream I don’t care and Kyrie went off and then Kyrie went off so you got to stop that skiing here’s what I say before you go yeah man I got to stop the Luca hate I just gota I got to stop it you got to stop yeah I got to stop you got to stop in my blood I got to just stop you got to stop okay got big of you he got me that’s no he got me but he got a win the championship he got me though he got me listen I got to say this real quick Luca got me after he hit the shot on goar then he’s telling goar you can’t guard me and not so many words and then he turns to the crowd and says go home you know like that’s what he yelled to the crowd really he said he was speaking in uh what’s what’s the language ofen Slovenia though he said all right but that’s that’s this guy and then to to your point Gober tries a wheel on him and he just picks his pocket from behind and Luka turns to the bench to M nor and says are you guys serious that you you’re going that okay that’s who this guy is that’s who he is he doesn’t have anything to say off the floor it’s all a Shucks G whiz kind of Brady esque right when Brady was playing but but man on the floor he got that Jordan he got that he’s got that stuff going on right okay all right so here’s the key stat to me of this whole thing Dallas is the first team since in what they call the play-by-play era where they kept all the stats from 95 on but they’re the first team to go up 3 0 in a playoff series despite trailing in the final five minutes of all three games it’s never happened before man that’s all you need to know is that three times Minnesota has definitely been right there because Minnesota has actually been ahead under five minutes all three times feels like a Laker nugget situation okay it it kind of does maybe worse because the Lakers were always in the fourth quarter right there but sometimes it didn’t make it all the way to five minutes this keeps making it to five minutes all right what did we talk about before this started I I know what I talked about I said Dallas will have the two best players on the floor and again you love Ant-Man we all love the potential of Ant-Man I don’t love Carl Anthony towns and I never have I’ve sat here many many times and I question just the mental toughness just just of he and gobear it’s like there’s always something missing in both of them and until Anthony came along they were just an also ran they they they were just they had Pat be for a while and all this and and it couldn’t get them up over the hump but if Anthony plays the way Anthony can play they can get over the hump and they got over the hump in game seven against Denver obviously maybe that was more about Denver hitting the wall finally psychologically but they got over the hump and into the Conference Finals okay so now somebody has to do something down the stretch to counteract what what could be we’re about to get into this in our next topic but it could be the two best closers in the back court we’ve ever seen together and they have figured out how to play together in ways they couldn’t figure out how to play together a year ago because they really struggled in the clutch last year when Kyrie joined them which is why they missed the playoff last year trying to figure each other out they were trying and they missed the playoffs they were in the lottery that’s how they got Derek Lively thei at what the 10th overall pick because they missed the playoffs well here they they go and they’re so hard to guard because it’s now they definitely go your turn my turn your turn my turn and it’s just I I listen this is the number one defensive team in basketball and Jaden McDaniels made second Team all NBA defense second team he’s really good he’s 6′ n in tall my shock of shocks and and as Lucas said after the game was that they switched the pick on Friday night late because Jaden McDaniels does a lot better job on Luca than than goar will ever do out on the perimeter and yet they switched it was it was actually the first time in 18 pick and rolls that they had switched and for some reason coach Finch told them in the Huddle before they went out for that last play it wasn’t the exact last F cuz Nas Reed got a shot but but he told him let’s switch it this time I guess he wanted to throw him a curve throw him a different look and so they switch goar onto Luca and you know the rest of the story yeah yeah do him a curve all right a hanging curve hanging curve and it’s it’s still flying somewhere yeah and that was the Turning Point obviously of the series but then the kean’s point Derek Lively goes down he gets kicked in the back kneed in the back of the head by cat yeah it was a shot man they look better with him on the pick and roll because he’s better on the roll than Gafford is you know he’s got better he’s he’s been averaging three get back is is he’s better at catching it and making a decision it’s going to the Rack or making the right pass whereas gapper is not as effective making the right pass he’s just good at finishing yeah so now I’m thinking he he’s their best Rim productor gafford’s really good and PJ’s pretty good but listen Lively is 7 1 in tall a 610 so I’m thinking okay here here we go and then Ant-Man dunks and we know he can dunk but he just needs to get free get loose and he got loose on Gafford and I guess he posterized me he got a full head of steam I felt poster they just couldn’t finish the deal okay then he popped because he scored 10 straight points in the third all in the third quarter yeah I thought it was I thought it here’s what’s getting about Anthony Edwards I keep saying let’s see a little more now let’s see a little more you’ve gone young Jordan and that’s fine I see the little glimpses and flashes but now he’s got to live up to it and apparently he’s not quite ready no not yet so in these three games here’s my problem it’s not that he’s missing shots he’s not taking shots in the fourth quarter he’s averaged three shots a game in these three games in the four a good job of getting the ball out of his hands though skip four how many times have you seen him get a step on somebody and get in the lane and kick it and I’m like because they doing that don’t kick it go to the foul line go to the free throw line really attack but posterize somebody else posterize Gafford again right and he’s done that if you if you look at the course throughout the game not just in the fourth quarter when he’s gotten the step and he’s gone to the cup it’s been three guys coring him and he’s still trying to make the shot he doesn’t get the foul call and you sitting there you going well damn he fell on the ground they they somebody had to done something and now all of a sudden a fast a fast break going the other way okay but they’re up two with five minutes to go and through the course of the whole fourth quarter Anthony Edwards takes no shots outside the paint no jump shots no threes no no attempts over for the three so I think he I don’t want to be like R uh uh K Carl Anthony town so I’m not going to shoot okay he’s really all they got he is he’s the reason they’re here he’s the reason they got this far he he is the reason that all those guys on the bench think we have a chance is because of him you just have to shoot it it I don’t care against Denver in game 70 one for eight but at least he was trying and they won the game I’d like to see jayen MCD shoot the ball a little bit more well I don’t think it comes down to shots because when you look at how I mean he shot at 26 times look this is a bad matchup just twice in the fourth quarter though when the game was still on the line a bad match up you got to look at their lineup it’s it’s they have no one else that can create offense for other people you you know Anthony Edwards usually look at he had nine assists like who else can create a offensive shot for someone else cuz usually when cat gets the ball he’s he’s putting his head down and just stee rolling to the basket you know not really looking to pass too much Jay McDaniels he’s a three and D guy for the most part we know it goar is Nas Reed is a shooter who can get to the Rim Yeah so they need more playmaking I mean simple as I I love Mike Conley and every time he shoots a three that matters I think it’s going in and and he made good shots like he was six out of 11 four of seven from three he he’s like 5’11 there’s there’s only so much he can do right he can’t take the game over right and then he’s a defensive liability he is at the age you know he has to guard Kyrie and we just I mean Kyrie just kind of like went at him KY Kyrie saw Connie on him and just kind of like like all right this is a easy match up for him but you know you got to give credit to where credit to Mike klie held his on I’m taking 16 points from him sure he’s G me 16 points yeah Anthony Edward’s giving me 26 the key to this is goar is the key to all of this you guys if this is our Allstar this is this if this is our second best player look at this off the bench Nas re gave me 14 I like what I’m getting off the bench yeah I got 10 from Kyle so what is that saying you we got to make an adjustment we got to make a tough adjustment that this ain’t GNA go right with somebody in the start lineup but I got to remove somebody from the Star lineup all right I think go is that guy you might need to say all right shoot we might already said it lastek said like game one but then now I’m looking at the way KY underst understand his plan you might have to go with them two I wouldn’t mind with a lineup like that down the stretch if Carl Anthony towns is not going to make threes and Rudy goar is a defensive liability on the perimeter the way they’re putting him in position sound the defensive liability def that don’t even sound right right youan how many times you said how is he the defensive you know the funny thing and we’re going to be talking about him 10 years from now about being a Hall of Famer I’d say you know time defensive player of the year but you’re a defensive liability I wouldn’t better say that about Kevin Garnett I wouldn’t better say that about Ben Wallace you know guys that can get out on the perimeter and defend but it’s un on that perimeter he does his best work he does his best work in the paint so you got to develop defensive schemes to where he doesn’t have to come out on the perimeter and switch to pick and roles a lot of times you know what players will do you’ll have the corner man whoever’s guarding the corner Wing he’ll come in and switch with whoever go Bear’s man is is setting a pick so he can switch out onto the point guard so you can keep your big man in the P or go to a zone go to a Zone but you have to make some type of adjustment they tried some Zone last night yeah but this is just right now like I said earlier the coaching disparity is greater than initially thought and J kid is just I don’t know if it’s exes or old are just scheming his way through this playoffs I mean they’ve gotten better Luca’s gotten better as the playoffs went on J K has gotten better and we’re going to see a Mavs versus Boston Celtics finals it sure looks like it and all right to sum up last night I can’t wait remember the the t-wolves won the boards last night 33- 32 that’s not bad okay it’s not one one rebound is not all right but it’s still they did that after the first game they got crushed on the boards last night they win points in the paint 50 to 40 well it’s okay you know that that’ll work M but now here’s the bottom line stat in the three games over the last three minutes of these three games Dallas has won 24-1 and last night when they were down two with five minutes left they go on a 12 to1 run what do you think’s going to happen it was over with it I start I start getting up and moving around in the kitchen it’s a one two three fourpoint game and you got Luke and Kyrie and it seems like it’s shifting back and forth I I’m confident in them well God I’m confident in them yeah and and Luca just gets crazy and so is Kyrie I mean I I know what Kyrie can do but Luca is shooting fadeaways falling on his butt and Jay kid’s having to pick him up keep going already gone the ball was already gone see that’s the thing all the drama man the ball was already gone gone bear or towns he shot it high I was like that’s no way that’s going in that boy was gone gone I mean there’s no way Minnesota gets back in this yeah I think it’s pretty because you gotta win four in a row it’s over they not gonna win four in a row no just not it’s just not it’s not going to win four in a row yeah Bad Bet by me but oh well oh live to see another day that’s all right boys we just gearing up for the Boston Dallas Championship matchup now look that matchup right there that’s a team that can actually match up with Dallas best defensive back court got a number of players we going get there man calm down all right we’ll get there we’ll get there get this I was kind of looking at I’m excited wait a second I
