My favorite Blazer memory of Jrue was when he saved my cat from a burning tree that was on top of the biggest mountain you’ve ever laid your eyes on. He did it all with such a calm demeanor. Effortless. It was a true sight to behold.
When he had successfully retrieved my cat out of the tree he even took the time to feed him. To my surprise? Jrue is actually a world renowned cat chef. He used these skills to prepare the most absurd 5 course cat meal I’ve ever seen. Once again, so smooth and effortless.
After my cat had finished this great treat it was time to go home. Only problem? We were almost 200 miles from town, without a car. Panic began to set in as the sun was setting at this time.
Jrue looked at us both and simply says, “hop on”.
Believe it or not my cat and I rode Jrue Holiday the 200 miles back to town and arrived at our front door even before the sun had fallen. Once we dismounted Jrue turned to leave. I shouted, “wait, how can I ever repay you for today Jrue Holiday??”.
His reply? “Please send me to Boston. In return you shall receive Malcolm Brogdon, Robert Williams III, a 2024 GSW 1st, and a 2029 unprotected BOS 1st so that your fanbase can argue about what to do with them over course of their tenure with the team.” I agreed and Jrue Holiday simply vanished into thin air.
The day was all blur so I may have confused some of the details but yeah, that was my favorite moment of Jrue with the Blazers.
