the Dallas Mavericks this team is unreal the Dallas Mavericks are just one win away from reaching the 2024 NBA finals which would be their first Finals appearance since 2011 the year they won it all if I told you MAV fans at the start of the Season that the Mavericks would be one win away from sweeping their Western Conference Finals opponent and advancing to the NBA finals I would just love to know know what you guys would be thinking because this Dallas Mavericks team nobody had them in this position nobody had them on the cusp of winning a championship because I’ll tell you guys this to start this series is over I know there’s eventually got to be a team that comes back from 03 down it’s not going to happen in this series I mean the Dallas Mavericks are just the better team the Dallas Mavericks are not losing four games in a row in this series this thing’s a wrap they defied all the odds they proved everybody wrong to get here I mean you just look back ESPN giving the Kyrie Irving Trade A D PJ Washington they graded that d as well they gave the Daniel Gafford Trade A C minus I mean ESPN they completely got it wrong with this Mavs team and all the talk you know going from last season to this season was that the pressure was on but you look at the Mavericks they have hit on all of the important decisions and Evan Cy put this out on X and it just explains how great this MAV front office has been of putting the Mavericks in this position and surrounding Luca with the help that he needed as the Mavericks they trade Spencer Den witty Dorian finny Smith a 2029 first two second round picks for Kyrie Irving so many people clowned the trade at the time they draft Eric ly at number 12 over Raw After strategically tanking the last couple of games last season to put him in that spot then they trade gr Williams Seth Curry a 2027 first top two protected for PJ Washington and two second round picks and then they trade a 2028 pick swap for Daniel Gafford the mafs front office delivered they needed to surround Luca with Talent they needed to make this team a contender around him and they did just that and boy oh boy Luca donic and Kyrie Irving they have been special as a Duo man you’re talking about one of the greatest backourt d in NBA history Stan Van Gundy said on the broadcast the most talented back cour in the history of the NBA that’s some very high praise Luca donic at 33 points 7 rebounds five assists five steals Kyrie at 33 points three rebounds four assists on 60% shooting Luca donish and Kyrie Irving have been magnificent they have outscored Anthony Edwards and Carl Anthony towns by 70 points 181 to 111 the rest of the T wolves have actually outscored the rest of the Mavericks by 57 so when you look at it just that face value the difference is that Dynamic Duel of the Mavericks LCA and Kyrie are the difference makers and right there that just proves it when you look at the point discrepancy Anthony Edwards for as great as he’s been he has not been to the level of Luca or Kyrie Carl Anthony towns has been a disaster and you know this has actually been a close series as you look at these games you know game one and game two decided by a few points the Mavs able to win game three by nine it’s been a total of a 13o difference across this entire Series so if Luke and Kyrie don’t ball out the way that they have been this could be a very different Series in favor of Minnesota but when you’re in these series when you’re in these close games you need your stars to come through you need big time performers in the clutch and the Dallas Mavericks have not won but they have two and I mean it’s becoming a common theme now that when a game is in crunch time and it’s the final three four minutes of a contest you’re giving the edge to Dallas every single time this team has become impeccable in these late game situations whether they’re down a couple have a slight lead or the game is tied you’re giving the benefit of the delt to the Mavericks now because they are able to close out these games and get wins when the pressure is at it its highest and you got to credit Dallas’s defense as well because Carl Anthony towns he’s just shooting at 27.8% in the series remember he was coming off that nice game seven against the Nuggets helping the t-wolves complete that comeback towns has just been three of 22 from three so that’s really a testament to the defensive intensity that Dallas has been playing with they are just tenacious on the defensive end and we see it Loose balls you know Luca putting his body on the line Dallas not giving an inch Minnesota’s offense has been limited enough and then Luca and Kyrie they both go for 33 in game three they’re averaging almost 60 in the series and now they’re the first starting back court over the last 50 years to each score at least 30 points in the same game three different times during the same postseason that is per ESPN stats and donic and Irving going back to stable these guys just coming up clutch when it matters they combined to drain 17 jump shots including three over the final 6 minutes a pair of donic fadeaways and then an absolutely Wicked step back from Irving to give the Mavericks The Edge Kyrie Irving is playing as well as he’s ever been and when you look at Kyrie Irving guys he’s looking like one of the greatest second options in NBA history we saw the success he had alongside LeBron and now it’s like it’s being replicated along side Luca how can you stop these guys we saw down the stretch of game three Dallas Simply Better Minnesota’s defense was actually playing well you couldn’t have guarded Luca or Kyrie any better than they did in those situations but when you have great players like this and they’re on an extraordinary run you can play the best defense you’ve ever played you’re still not stopping them from scoring and we’re seeing it right now which is why this Mavericks team just feel like a team that is destined to win the title from the big shots that they’ve had you know Luca hitting that epic game winner in game two the defense the role players The Supporting Cast everything came together nicely for the Mavericks and now this team is one win away from the NBA finals of officially going on through where they would in all likelihood take on the Boston Celtics and that would just be an amazing NBA Finals I mean all the story lines coming to life in that one I’ll do a separate video once the finals matchup is made official but we know it’s going to be Mavs and Celtics it’s going to be one hell of a series so Irving and donic they have just been amazing they have been those guys and the Dallas Mavericks again Define the odds what an improbable run this has been and they have just fooled everyone who thought this team was dead in the water and they just completely turned their situation around and again who had the Mavericks in this spot from the beginning of the Season not a lot of people if any so the Dallas Mavericks guys this team has been fun to watch I’m rooting for them I definitely want to see them close this thing out and then beat Boston in the finals the Dallas Mavericks they have
