Should the Hawks select Sarr, center Clint Capela – who will be in the final year of his contract worth $22.27 million – is expected to be discussed in trade talks. Hawks forward De’Andre Hunter was another name rival executives expected to become available for Atlanta as the draft nears.

Everybody but JJ is on the block, even Trae. Of course Hunter is on the block
Great scoop Mike… I’d be interested to hear whether “rival executives” are interested in this person who the Hawks already very publicly tried to trade and what they think a return would look like (negative contract value?).
Hunter will probably leave atl and have a full season without injury averaging 18 a game. Just our teams luck lmao
Everyone but Trae, JJ, and Sarr should be on the block.
I really think we could trade DJM, Hunter, and Capela this off-season. Hopefully this is a reset to truly build the most cohesive team around Trae
I don’t like the idea of trading Hunter this off season unless we draft a sf #1 overall or fully commit to JJ at sf.
It’s pretty critical for this team to have a minimum of 2, two way players at SF. We need to add at least 1 regardless of if we trade Hunter or not. Realistically we would need to add 2, two way forwards if we get rid of Hunter.
But I also see a pretty clear role for Hunter as a backup SF for a contender. I could see him going off in the playoffs if there is no pressure on him and he’s like the 4th or 5th option. Also, he could mostly focus his energy on defense in that role.
If we trade Deandre we aren’t getting value back with his contract and it’ll pretty much amount to a salary dump imo. I’d rather start developing our starting SF of the future (whether it’s JJ or some one else) and keep Deandre. That way in hopefully a few years when we are contenders Deandre will already be settled into his new 6th man role.
Supposedly Mikal Bridges might be available.
I know y’all have seen me be hard on Sarr, but I think if you can avoid giving up #1 and manage to make a trade for Mikal and draft Sarr, you’re off to a good start.
Ah yeah, the “rival execs” portion of the NBA off-season returns.
