Smith: Woj said Game 4 was the earliest Kristaps Porzingis could have come back. Boston is expected to get him into 5-on-5 before Game 1 of the Finals, should they make it. The hope is to have him ready for Game 1. Also said the Mavericks expect to have Maxi Kleber for the Finals.

Heat and Lakers are gonna get reinserted into the conference finals playoffs To okay the winners with the brand new “LeConsolation bye” rules.
He’ll hopefully be a useful tool in the chest that can be deployed in the finals if he gets back, but it’s a bummer he couldn’t get back before then. I couldn’t find the stat again just now – but players who have returned in the finals after an absence of this length or longer see very limited minutes.
I know no one has came back from 3-0 but its wild that the media already says the Mavs are in the finals.
Definitely was the right move to sit him in game 4. We were on a roll and up 3-0 so there’s no need to rush him back. He probably needs to get the 5 on 5 work in and practice a bit to shake off the rust before game 1.
