CAN the SPURS DRAFT Risacher & Castle? San Antoino Spurs News

the NBA draft is less than a month away Spurs fans when it comes who the Spurs are going to pick there are things we wouldn’t understand things we couldn’t understand things we shouldn’t [Music] understand what is up San Antonio Spurs fans welcome to TSR Sports came across an article from Spurs talk.com you may have heard me mention them on the channel before my favorite content creator I will plug them shamelessly because I go to their site often not sponsored by them in any way shape or form just a site that I really enjoy I’ll put a link to the website in the comments below but I always like to share Spurs spursy stuff with Theon I thought his big board 2.0 is very interesting on who the Spurs Draft so let’s just get into it LJ thank you for all your hard work that you do for our Spurs and uh there he is the Spurs have the fourth and eighth overall picks and while it remains difficult to predict what San Antonio will do it sure does first fans things are beginning to come into Focus are they now move on in the article in discussions with Spurs sources in the last few weeks I’ve learned that the team is higher on the straft than the consensus that’s a good thing there’s a palpable amount of excitement regarding what the franchise can accomplish with their two lottery picks this year okay the franchise is obviously prioritizing each player’s potential fit next to Victor wama when evaluating prospects but beyond that sources have told me that the Spurs are targeting All Around Talent so not a spell that can just shoot threes or this that and you know guys that can do multiple things and who’s number one on the draft board Zachary rash this is a name that’s come up a lot in the channel and to draft him we might need to move up a little bit in the draft and actually you saw veras and castle on the thumbnail that would be my probably my perfect draft we’re going to take a timeout from the article from LJ the reason being is I think we’d have to move up to be able to get race and Cass on the draft how do we move up well I was looking at our draft Capital Spurs fans and sometimes I forget just how much we have now this is a little add to date it’s not including what happened this year we have our two picks this year we took Toronto’s pick and we have our two second round picks but when we look to 2025 for first rounders we got the Atlanta pick with no protections which is a kick in the jubblies isn’t it why couldn’t we get that next year the first over why could at get the first overall pick next year really it had to get it this year anyway we got Atlanta’s unprotected pick our own pick the Chicago Bulls pick which is protected one through 10 and if we look up that Charlotte Hornets pick is still out there it’s a Lotter protected pick I believe that’s still a first round pick next year so we could have up the four first round picks we don’t need that many and then second rounders we have three next year and they start moving down the list and we have a lot of picks in we have 8 million second rounders in 2026 so we have a lot of draft Capital over the next few years and our own picks are going to be worth less I would hope more and more as time progresses because we’re going to be a perennial playoff team hopefully a perennial playoff championship Contender so I think we could start using some of this draft Capital to move up maybe this year right now we’re picking 4 and eight could we swap with Washington and pick second and give them some upcoming picks could we swap with the Pistons or Hornets or somebody and give them some draft capital I don’t know all I’m saying is I would be fine with giving up some of those excessive fcks that we’re not we’re just not going to to keep everybody on the roster and I know next year draft class is better I can’t see us drafting four first round picks if all those picks were to convey anyway let’s get back to the point here Zach rash what do we have to say about him well we’ve talked about him a lot but let’s talk about him just a little bit more he picks a lot of the boxes what the Spurs will likely be looking for in this draft he’s a tall Wing who can guard multiple positions race has shot at well from threo land and has and already Pro and has already proven he’s capable of playing a valuable role on a team focused on winning his fit next to wemi appears to be very clean I think a good outcome from him would be a taller Danny Green okay if race is available my prediction as of right now is that he’ll be the pick at number four it makes sense we need Wings a versatile guy a big guy he’s also French he has a French Connection with weny I would certainly be okay with him before I’ve said that numerous times on the channel this is good for me castle at 8 is intriguing could he drop the eight probably not I think we got to move up for him if the Spurs want a multi-positional multi-talented player at number four so LJ’s talking on us possibly taking castle at four Castle fits the bill he’s a really good on ball Defender is almost equally as strong away from the action offensively he’s a smart offensively he’s smart and can be relied upon to make the right play castle is a really good passer he drives with purpose and he plays with physicality so defensively there should be an immediate upgrade over Trey Jones that being said there’s this Castle’s ify three-point shooting keeps him out of the top spot on this big board and also there’s talk that he is demanding to play point guard in the NBA that one worries me just a little bit what I’ve been seeing about that I hope it it seems like you know he’s a good dude I’m just hoping there’s not some some of attitude that we haven’t seen in college and then it comes out in a stint in the NBA hopefully not the case and actually says right here hopefully that isn’t the case I think his fit as a point guard next to Wy is questionable at best though and that would be my biggest concern with Castle is what would his fit with wemy be would it work out time will tell if we draft him and then moving down the list and we’re going over a couple of the the players that he talk about here Alexander SAR I don’t think there’s any way we’re getting him but here’s what they have to say he’s a favorite to be the first overall pick due to his combination of size mobility and explosiveness if SAR somehow begins to slide in the draft I think he has sh enough for San Antonio pick him at number four hence therefore AO giving us the Eiffel Towers uh I don’t see that happening could we trade up with Atlanta and give them back one of their unprotected picks into the 2027 one who knows I don’t think we’re getting SAR we’ll pass him Robert Dillingham a player that a lot of if you want his slid down the draft board for Spurs talk he was originally number one he slid to number four what happened not only did he weigh only 164 pounds at the combine so he’s small TSR weighs 200 and I’m 6’4 so I mean I’m big next Rob dilling him and I’m just SP fan sitting on his C right now he’s doing with he’s dealing with an ankle injury so he hasn’t been able to quell any fears about his diminutive size as it stands the teams between four and eight don’t need a point guard so that could cause a Spur to wait until second lottery pick before addressing the need I.E draft Dillingham at 8 Scouts for other teams can believe that the Spurs are very likely destination for Dillingham because of his scoring ability and his seamless fit next to W of course I think that’s what the spur is going to look for in this draft who fits next to Wy the best who’s going to unlock the full potential out of Victor oneyama we did a previous video on the channel about the perfect possible draft scenario where Sasha at four and Dilly at eight do you guys still want Dilly at eight we’ll see Reed Shepard comes up seems a lot of you are saw Reed Shepard he’s a great shooter a playmaker on defense and should be able to play point guard on a team built around WBY but his size is a big concern for a lot of you matest bzel has come up from a lot of Spurs fans multiple counts that bzel was the best interview at this year’s combine interesting bzel could have moved himself into the mix at number four his size and athleticism should allow him to play multiple positions and he clearly has potential on both sides of the Court his three-point shooting is not greatest his defense has been questioned some of you have called him Lucas smich 2.0 I don’t know about all that let’s move right on this is a player that’s certainly training Dian Salon I said that right if a team believes his shooting is real and believes he still has a lot of room to develop it’s not impossible for him to move into the top five of this draft so could the Spurs Draft him eighth could they draft two French player Spurs fans Ras at four him at eight still need a point guard or are we waiting until next year D connect Ron Holland Nicole topic now this seemed like a player that was being mocked to our Spurs and and every mock D I’ve had us taking topage sometimes at four occasionally at 8 with the recent KN injury here’s what he has to say I’m still not hearing much of a connection between the Spurs and topic European Scouts tell me that San Antonio hasn’t shown much outward interest additionally topic reinjured his knee recently one year Scout told me that Spurs would need to see topich back on the court before even considering him as a lottery Pick and the andry concerns me as well of course with the all this NBA rumors and talk and speculation some of it could be to sway teams right if you’re the Spurs and there’s a guy you want you’re not going to put it out there that you want that guy you’re going to put out there I don’t want Zach rash he sucks and then you know he falls to your spot oh actually yes I did so that could be some of that going on then we round out the picks with Cody Williams Devon Carter Don M kingan I don’t know who BB Carrington is but he made it on the board who’s this bub Wolverine might know so that’s the article from Spurs talk let me give my two cents here at the time of the video if we were able to draft both these guys I certainly would be okay with it rashi’s a possibility at four Castle I do not seeing lasting to it I think we would definitely have to draft some or not draft have to trade some draft Capital to move up a little bit to get him that would make our starting lineup Wy Rashi soan Basel castle at some point I think champeny might still start over Rashi to start the season maybe not depending on aacei looking the preseason almost guaranteed Trey Jones would start over castle if Castle was going to be our point guard to the Future it would be a defensive upgrade um big question Spurs fan is the shooting with soan he showed the ability to hit the three at the start of the Season then he absolutely fell off the cliff and then Castle shooting at the time of this video he shooting’s not great but he did well at the combine and most importantly will either player fit well with Wy LJ in his article says that he feels like Rach fits well with Castle playing the point guard maybe not that being said I can’t wait until the draft I said at the end of every video it’s so far away it’s it’s 29 days doing the math real quick and that seems like Agony uh just because having two high lottery picks 4 and eight it’s very exciting and you think about our recent draft history last year of course we had the first overall pick then it was nine then it was what 12 then 11 so we haven’t had two guys in the have we have two guys in the top 10 I don’t think so right I don’t think we ever had two two picks in the top 10 we’ve been lucky to have three number one picks overall but two guys in the top 10 I don’t believe that’s happened unless I’m missing a year or maybe something before David Robinson played I have no idea but it’s a great time to be a Spurs fan and I’ll close with this of course comment your thoughts on what we went over today of course hit the thumbs up you like support the channel if you’re still here and you’re not 1. Yeah, those two names keep coming up.
Wow, we have so many draft picks in the next few years, and so many guys in the pipeline already, that the Spurs could wind up having dynasties with TWO groups of players (but all with Wemby)! Of course, the rest of the league won’t be just contemplating their navels.

  2. Like everyone else, I go back and forth on this draft. The folks doing mock drafts are all over the place and everyone in front of SA at the 4th pick have multiple needs. So I am going to make some assumptions. First assumption is that SA does not try to move up in the draft which is probably the only way Starr or Risacher become available to SA. At 4, I’m warming to the idea of taking Castle. He’s big, he provides defense, his shot needs work but it isn’t broken. The issue with this pick is that I don’t see him as immediate help and it is tough to pick someone at 4 who isn’t projected to step in immediately. SA would really need to believe in his upside to pick him at 4 and even then, getting a vet guard would still be needed (CP3???). Overall, given all the flaws of the available guards, I’d look to free agency to get a relatively young PG.

Salaun would be an interesting pick at 8 and would likely be available as well. My issue is not with his upside, but his ability to contribute from Day 1. Again, SA would have to believe in both his upside AND how quickly they could get him on the court.

These would be my picks today, if SA keeps both picks. But if the right vet becomes available at the right price, getting a vet PG is the way to go. That immediately improves your first and second unit because Trae would now be running the second unit.

  3. Forget Castle. He couldn't make first string PG on his own team so it's pretty obvious the coaches must have spotted a serious hole in his game. Not to mention the whole bad attitude thing in his approach to working out for any teams that might want him. And from what I hear, his 3 pt shooting sucks. Basically, there are no really good PG prospects in this draft, they are all flawed in one way or another.
I like Risacher, but look at the numbers that Champagnie and Cissoko put up last year, quietly they put up some nice numbers and for very young players I think they did well and hold a lot of good prospects for their futures. Either one could have a really good year next year if they grow just a bit. Frankly, I don't think we need Risacher and what would be a big time contract to support for such a high draft pick.
My best case, the Spurs trade out of the draft for a player like Garland from the Cavs. They might bite on 4 and 8 for Garland and a couple players like Johnson and ?? to make the $ right. Then, we'd have something potentially really good coming out of the draft. (wasn't Garland an All-Star a year or two ago?)

  4. Dream scenario. Maybe we trade 4 up to 2. Probably wouldnt take much. And it would set us up for the future in so many ways

  5. im french i saw every french playoff match with risacher and trust me , unfortinatly he will be not available at 4 …

  6. I just don’t see it with Risacher as a top 3 pick, he’s a 3&D guy who can’t create or put it on the floor consistently. If he’s not catching and shooting he’s not a huge impact player

  7. I believe the Spurs will take Risacher at four if he’s there if not it will be Castle at 4 and the best available SF at 8, Castle is exactly what they want at the PG position which is why they were experimenting with Sochan

  8. Why do Spur fans act like Dc isn't sitting at 2 and also trying to acquiring Houston or Detroit pick with Kuzma

  9. Nice video. Watch “BC Buckets” new video comparison Castle v. Topic. 23 minute comprehensive comparison.

  10. If you’re passing on Dilly and opting for Castle you might as well get his teammate Tristan Newton the starting True PG. He can shoot, defend, very athletic, big, and did I mention he’s a True PG. You can get him at 8 or lower and get the athletic big or big wing or both at 4 & 8 that can score and defend. There are some sleepers out there like Dunn, Baba Miller, Bobi Klintman, Kelel Ware, Tristan Da Silva, Pacome Dadiet, and Tidjane Saluan. Or get creative like you said move up and get Risacher. We are not getting Cooper Flagg next ain’t happening. Everything has to align perfectly and I don’t see it happening. Move up to get Sarr and Risacher. Go all out now.
