Which year is the original post? That matters. If for now, both are too close to the end of their run and are injury prone. PG might be a tad more talented overall, Jimmy has one of the fiercest hearts of all time. I’d want to build around that if we’re talking prime time.

I think the probability of both Joel and Jimmy being healthy at the end of the year is very low. I’d rather sign PG and keep the draft capital.

They’ll require the same contract. They’re both old and injury prone. They’re both extremely good. I think PG is a better fit but Jimmy is a better playoff player.

My opinion is it’ll be easier to build a team around PG / Embiid / Maxey due to retaining our picks, which makes that decision a no brainer.

The reality is we’ll just do whichever option is actually possible.

Idk if I want either, no clue what to think, but between those two options this summer it’s clearly PG. If you had to max one of these guys I’m going with the one I can sign straight up rather than trade any players and/or picks

PG’s contract will start, and therefore end, sooner. Give me him (with the added bonus of not having to trade assets to get him).

  6. Think Jimmy would be more fun as a fan, but prefer PG as plan A to retain picks for other players. Actually be happy with either

Incoming another inevitable bad contract that we’ll handicap ourselves to for the next 2-3 years that could’ve been completely avoidable.

PG comes for free. Jimmy needs two firsts. That’s big

    Paul George is better

    Better defender

    Better health

    Better fit with our team

But Jimmy is edgy and has some big playoff performances after taking the entire regular season off so most are gonna want him

I’d rather go for Ingram or Lebron. Lebron is the oldest, but will only require a 2-3 year contract and is the best player of the bunch and is a proven anomaly when it comes to aging and all that. Butler noticeably took a step back last year and is coming off a relatively serious knee injury and PG is old and injury prone as well, the contract demands for both scare me. Ingram gives you a young scorer who can slot in as a legitimate 3rd options next to Maxey and Embiid and I think he’d play off them very well.

Basically it comes down to if we get the vet I don’t want it to be a 5 year max so Lebron is the fit there and if not I want someone young who at least shouldn’t regress over the next few years and hopefully may have some all star upside next to these two.
