can see if you are watching this on YouTube it is not Camille Davis joining me today it is Gabe staltz who you can find on Twitter at st3 you can read him on Brew hoop as well I would see him daily at fer Forum covering the bucks for the last few years so uh Gabe first of all thanks for joining us tonight as I mentioned we’re going to cover a lot in this as Camille and I have already started to go over I suppose went went wrong last year and do some look ahads to uh next year but as I mentioned you for the last few years have been there every single home game covering this team and and you’ve seen all of it as well there were some memorable moments we’ll get to here throughout the course of this show but uh I suppose we uh we just ripped the band date off immediately um looking back at last year I don’t even know where to begin with it I mean you I think were one of them uh the the few of us that were there when Adrien Griffin was announced as the the new head coach of the Bucks you think about everything that’s taken place in the last 12 months you had Bud fired you had Griffin hired you had Griffin fired you had Damen Lillard traded for you in Doc Rivers that this has been one of those Seasons unlike anything I can remember it really has I mean it’s almost seems like you couldn’t even write it like it just seems like some sort of crazy fiction but even when Bud was just announced as the Phoenix Suns new head coach I’m like what seems like it was like three or four years ago at this point that he was coaching the Bucks and like you said just a total Whirlwind I mean from Griffin being brought on um it seems like it his initial pressor out in the deer District at good City Brewing was just I mean it flew by and then it’s just now obviously he got dismissed and then that came on board it just was such a surreal um and so much drama and to a team that we historically have never seen a lot of drama behind him I mean you look at the um buildup to the culmination of the 21 title that’s what the Bucks prided themselves on is staying out of that sort of national Spotlight and this year was a little bit different so it was a lot yeah I mean it it was and that’s the big thing I suppose to start at is there was never any drama with this team um I don’t know if I’d say there were no leaks but they were very buttoned up and I know people at times would complain about but when you think about his press conferences of man they’re short you don’t really get much from him um we saw the opposite end of the spectrum with Adrian Griffin where at times you felt like I feel like we’re getting a little too much here but it it was crazy to me to think of I don’t know if taking for granted is the right way to put it how accurate that is but a lot of things I do think we took for granted not just solely with bud but everything that the entire organization put in place when we think about where the Bucks were before Bud there was a lot of the same that there was a lot of miscommunication and confusion and there weren’t a lot of these guard rails in place and look again it’s not entirely Mike buen holer but I think you saw the guy that was responsible for a lot of them when he was gone you saw man this can easily slip away yeah exactly I mean it’s goes to the old ad of be careful what you wish for you know and like right away in the first few weeks of the new season I mean we all saw how bad the Bucks defense suffered and everyone was just so used to seeing that strong top five defense that bud would instill into his guys and I think just overall Bucks fans were just taking back I mean anytime you see a change like that you’re going to notice I mean even the players too I mean we all know how they approached Griffin um mid or early on in the season about Brook Lopez coverage and yeah all of that and how that immediately I mean Griffin listened and we all know how that panned out and then but just like I think it was new to them too and it’s just maybe they took it for granted too it’s just a so many unique situations just across the board and really like you said just how the organization from top to bottom was operating it just seemed like a whole new era really and it was and then right before as quick as it started it ended and then another era got ushered in with do and just so surreal um so like speaking of that so I I’m at the pregame press conferences but I don’t get a chance to attend the the postgame or in the locker room because of the postgame show you’re there for both of them when you think back to last year one of the the things that stood out to me was I think if I had to Peg a couple of words confidence would be one of them uh but just the difference as we kind of touched on there when you think back to Bud going to I I don’t want to turn this into an Adrian Griffin bashing session here but the changes that you noticed in those settings the most were what yeah so it first started off with Adrien Griffin and like right away like you said Bud was always kept everything close to his chest he never gave away rarely any information um so we are all sort of just used to that and then Adrien Griffin came aboard and like he would just he loved to talk like he would talk about a lot of things uh sometimes pertaining to your question sometimes not just a little bit of a rambling um but you could always tell that he he loved the game of basketball which is fun for me to see and the stories he would tell um and then to Doc and doc I mean is one of a kind you know we always like you said we just the answers he gave were just nothing like we’ve seen before um confident is a great word like you described it but I would say just transparent like yeah he would tell you exactly like he wouldn’t lie or he would he’d be I mean obviously some things like but for games and ship and whatnot but like for the most part he is very transparent he was very truthful in his assessments and all that and that was something that we loved as members of the media because that was something that we never really got before and we could use it for analysis and use it to reflect on so that was something that was fun in that case of just being able to I mean back as a coaching like Legend obviously like uh just given his um playing career and in addition to his uh of his years spent coaching so he’s seen a lot and it’s always fun to see him just Ram not ramble but just go on in such in-depth about the stories he’s seen the experience he’s seen um so I really Ben benefited it from a lot um in my stories and just from a basketball sense appreciate it a lot he’s he’s the guy that you would I mean you hear tossed around a lot but like oh go get a beer with that guy but that’s that’s doc that he’s the guy that you’re going to learn from if you get a chance to hang out with him for a couple of hours he is very transparent as you noted I mean even the little things like case in point um under Bud if somebody was listed as questionable we would always ask hey is Yannis gonna play tonight uh we’ll see he’s gonna go through warm-ups you want to can ner doc would say yeah or oh he’s gonna warm up but I think so like little things like that you could just see okay there’s that transparency and you’d hear from some people of U well yeah I don’t know about doc you’re like you may like him now but we’ll see how that goes or doc throws guys under the bus but that look maybe we’re in the honeymoon phase that was not at all the version of Doc Rivers we got I will say too even because a lot of fans just see the interviews that the Bucks will put out on their socials like from the first question but and I I think you’ll agree with this but like when he comes out to the me in the media room he’ll just make some funny comment whether it be about the game or uh someone in the room or someone that he knows because he knows everyone yeah yeah and then um especially if it’s a late game he’ll sorry for keeping you guys late stuff like that I also encourage everyone to uh before he officially was announced and like all the rumors were swirling about him becoming the new coach I was looking up Dak Rivers press pressers because I was just curious and there’s a story there’s I forget it like either 2008 or no it was when he was on the Clippers and it’s you could find it on YouTube but he’s talking about how he Tiger Woods was making a run at the Masters like to come back and take the lead and one of us and I’m just paraphrasing but uh one of the assistants told him that and they’re like no Danny a excuse me told him to Tiger’s getting making a run and Danny Angel goes get tossed so he can come watch it with me so the first play of the second half doc just and then I forget the rest but he’s just like you think I don’t know I want to watch and he didn’t get but it it just shows just the level of humor that doc has too in addition to all the other details that he shares with the um with his basketball mind so that part I really enjoyed this season yeah the other thing and we’ll transition to what to look to ahead to and a couple other things after this but the other thing speaking along those lines and this is really something that only we care about in a handful of others of our colleagues but the thing about Doc is he’s so disarming you know that like I think with bud in the way that he handled press conference I don’t mean this as a bad thing it could be intimidating because you knew bud is goingon to give you a five-word answer he’s going to shrug off a question he doesn’t want to take more than three or four questions in any of those pressers it’s it’s not quite to the level of pop but you don’t want to be the guy that keeps him longer or that asks him a question question that is is clearly one that he thinks is dumb with Doc I’ve witnessed it a couple of times where somebody would ask a question and it would start out where Doc in the nicest way possible is telling them this is not a good question and is coaching them through the process of maybe try this uh maybe say this and and walks you into the way to ask a question that I think especially if you’re new or a younger reporter or somebody that’s covering the team Doc Rivers is the exact type of guy that you want to be coaching a team that you’re covering for reasons like that that you don’t feel like man I just asked the dumbest question probably shouldn’t say anything tomorrow yeah exactly like he’ll do it in a nice way and try to help you and uh yeah yeah we all know how uh Greg papovich has made his name known through that uh real so I totally hear you there but yeah he’s just he’s just so thoughtful and like me and um Jack Maloney of CBS Sports even before doc was this is still when he was on the coach he was coaching the Clippers we were just always we were just walking through the back tunnels of fiser to the locker room and there’s Doc in the the tunnel just walking towards us we were the only three people in the tunnel and we just go hey Doc and then he goes what’s up fellas how are you guys doing like he knew us for years that’s just his Charisma and his yeah kindness so it’s just so fun it was a lot of fun for me to and as you as well and everyone else just to hear his angles hear his perspectives throughout the I guess handful of games uh that he did Coach the bucks for when I I mean I like the example I gave before I think back to I think it was Eric name that was asking him when the Bucks I think it was with Danilo it was either before they signed him or the pat Beverly trade and it wasn’t official yet and you do the thing that you do where you know you have to ask about it but you also know he can’t answer um but again with most other coaches that say well we we can’t comment on any of that and with Doc walks Eric into the no try again start over what about ask about a player like that okay now I can answer that I remember that yeah so classic such a genuine guy it’s uh I mean that was one of the many plot lines among this season here for the bucks but I I think strangely enough as we start to Pivot to next season the word that I’ve seen kicked around quite a bit with Bucks fans which is strange for a team that’s now been eliminated two straight years in the first round seems like it’s optimism so I do want to get to some of that and some of the more memorable moments that we witnessed at the arena or just with the team this past season we’ll get into that as we continue our conversation with Gabe staltz after this unlocked on bucks well it’s winner take all time in the NBA and NHL and fanduels giving you a shot to bring home a big win of your own is right America’s number one sports book I mentioned optimism Gabe is the word that I’m not going to say all Bucks fans but it does seem like there was the disappointment in that series loss to the Pacers but it was kind of easier to rationalize when obviously no Giannis at all Dame missing those two games the year just felt disjointed to begin with and that’s what I’ve been struck by is look it’s it’s not as though the Bucks are in a great spot with their age and makeup of the roster but it does seem like overwhelmingly there was a lot more Doom last year than there is this year where it’s been more of a all right we get a full off season with Doc we get a training camp we get to see if maybe multiple of these young guys can continue to develop that I understand there’s teams that are better situated than us in terms of the cap and with younger talent but especially seeing what’s continued to happen in these playoffs off where you could have the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals we still feel like if we’re healthy we’re going to be there yeah I think I’m in agreement there because I mean you just even think back to like for do and everything just injuries were such a big theme um I mean it was just I remember speaking of Doc funny enough Eric talked about Eric was asking a question about having the big three healthy yeah do just goes yeah don’t curse it and then I think funny enough I think maybe Giannis got hurt or something but like it’s just but that was really the theme of the year is just the injuries just racked up and you never want to see it especially when it I mean for the bucks third consecutive postseason where it’s thwarted their um quest to return to the finals but I think it’s just rather than because they did I think just being able to rebound as much as they’re struggling under Adrien Griffin yes things weren’t perfect under Doc Rivers but again like you me alluded to just the fact that now DC will have the whole off season to be able to shape his roster shape his Co coaching staff um the players will be able to be accustom with one another Damen Lillard won’t be coming in late um and he’ll be able to train all offseason because last last year he couldn’t do a lot of things that he wanted to because he was on the trade block and Portland was trying to move him so I know he’s he’s alluded to that in the exit interviews and all of that so I think just yeah that sense of optimism and just washing looking at it as a wash due to injuries it’s just the things that you can’t control in the game of basketball you know if there’s a wet spot or Giannis with his injury it’s just it’s just the way the cards fell and um I mean it’s the G part of the game and I think it just continued to be a little bit of a bad curse for the bucks well and that’s look and we’ve talked about this quite a bit I think you and I talked about it once before too in that um I do overall feel good about where they’re headed next season and look the reality is it it it almost never works it probably never is the word to use Works year one with super team and that’s what the Bucks were you you add to it what you mentioned about Dame and how strange his off season was him him he himself saying he wasn’t in the shape he needed to be because of kind of waiting to see what the trade was going to be and where he was going to be headed so there’s a lot of things you can point to to say okay this team is they’re gonna be better next year or they’re gonna be in a better spot to contend for a championship but the danger is just is next year it is that your last chance at this before you have to look at what changes with this team I I think what makes it even more interesting is you just look around the Bucks and and what could possibly still be in flux with Philadelphia having all this cap space and they’ve been linked to a handful of guys but what if the Sixers strike out and don’t get anyone now we’re seeing the reports today of could it be a Jimmy Butler reunion so what would that then mean for the Miami Heat what about Boston if they don’t win the championship I would assume that team is not going to look the same next season for the cost of the roster and year after year coming up short so they’re could be changes headed there the Pacers you know everybody’s going to say hey that’s a team that has a bright future and I think at first blush you would say yes I get that but it’s the exact same conversation we had about the Atlanta Hawks in 2021 where we thought hey didn’t expect to get this far they took two games off the Bucks they at least won in the Conference Finals Young’s a young Superstar On The Rise and it’s a pretty young core this team will be back and we saw that was not the case there what happens if Pascal SE yakum leaves something’s gonna happen in Cleveland besides just the coaching change so there could be a lot more change around the Bucks this season and they could benefit even more potentially by maybe being the team in the East that remained the most consistent one year after a year full of change yeah no you that’s a great point I mean like you said so many times when there’s a big change in a team it’s hard to find that chemistry and even the B like Damian Lillard and Giannis and Chris like at the beginning of the season they were admitting it it’s gonna take some time to find a gel but as the season progressed they got they were more comfortable with one another and then of course the injuries played a role but like you said it’s just going to be so big for these guys to have their off Seasons together they’ll I’m sure they’ll go to Greece together maybe they’ll go to Los Angeles and yeah yeah all over the place to and just all this time to really get to know each other because at this like look how long of the offseason last year was spent thinking Drew holiday is going to be the starting point guard of this team and then we all know how that shaped out but yeah to your point too like the other teams are always they’re we all they’re all fighting for the same thing and there’s they’re Relentless and like you said too like you look at the Cleveland Cavaliers I mean they they have the talent but who knows what’s happening with Donovan Mitchell they JB bicker staff’s gone um but yeah there just so many variables that go into this off season I was even joking with uh my fellow Brew hoopers I don’t know when it’ll happen but I’m like man another thing to consider is to if the NBA expands as Minnesota coming to the East yeah man that might be coming that might be a little bit of a problem coming down Road in a few years but who knows where expansion’s at but um but yeah it’s just there’s just so many things you can ways teams can improve themselves but in this case by almost running it back for arguably Last Dance maybe the Bucks are in a better position than those other teams but who knows at this point that’s the interesting part is what happens around them because we go through this every year I don’t think we really had the conversation around the Bucks uh because they weren’t quite as young they weren’t old yet but they weren’t quite as young as some of the other teams but every time we have the conversation the Bucks and the Raptors were not but hey is this team going to be the dynasty the next team that’s going to peel off two out of three or uh two out of the next four championships we we said it with the Nuggets last year Denver goes down then it was all of a sudden well this was the West finals the nuggets and Timberwolves and now the Timberwolves might get swept in the west finals but we had that conversation of is it the Timberwolf so I think that’s the other thing that just backs up look a year of consistency no change another year under duck you’re probably in a better spot because of everything that has changed around them and just how much parody there is that’s made its way into this league but when you look at the teams that have found success I mean sure you need to have defense and you need to be a two-way player but you think about the pairings and that’s what we keep going back to is you know the shame of it is you didn’t see Giannis in the playoffs I still believe I don’t know about you they beat the Pacers if Giannis is healthy and plays in that series but you know Chris Middleton and Dame that works in the playoffs I would have to imagine you add Giannis into the mix that’s going to work too and I think that is the last thing we got to that’s the biggest thing that spreads and breaths that op optimism is okay we have a trio that I don’t even care how many games Chris Middleton plays in in the regular season I don’t care if Giannis and Dane play in less than the the required amount for individual Awards if it means those three are healthy in the playoffs I think what we saw with two of them for most of the series leads you to believe yeah this is going to work incredibly well with these three together in the playoff series oh yeah I’m in total agreement with you I think just the fact that the Bucks were is competitive as they were without Giannis uh without Dame for some of the games and just the overall fight that Chris Middleton exhibited I mean I mean build that man a statue already like it’s solidified at this point I mean he’s just so such an integral part to this franchise’s history and this year proved it even more even though the result wasn’t what everyone wanted but yeah it just speaks to just the overall just disappointment of just the injuries and things you can’t control troll um just playing an unfortunate end and all this I mean excitement from when Dame was brought aboard and like I mean I still remember getting the alert on my phone it’s just like wow this is really happening but then I just I want to go back to your point about continuity into the offseason I think the for as chaotic as it all was of the bringing out in Doc Rivers and the dismissal of Griffin the Bucks are in a good spot right now because Doc is there because if they had let Griffin go and see what he could do in the playoffs and say it was a similar result swept by the Pacers or whoever they would have matched up with had he stayed on board he likely would have been dismissed and then it you’re back to really square one of okay we’re gonna get a new system new coach players are gonna have to get acclimated um but now we’re not there at that point we’re granted there’s a little bit of the coaching staff to be filled out but the foundation’s there you got to rely on that and then hopefully it all falls into place the way everyone’s hoping it does and it’s just not a total start over essentially maybe it’s just a hopium that we’re all sucking on but it’s almost like when you graduate early and you you get to enroll in college early to practice with the team and his freshman year that player takes off well he’s with the team for the last three months it’s kind of the spot that you’re in with the Doc Rivers and again we’ll get into it as as we get further into the summer but that’s going to be the big thing for the bucks is what that means for guys like Andre Jackson Jor like AJ Green and I think a lot of fans have given up on him but we heard Doc Rivers at the end of season press conference do the opposite what it means for Maran Bo champ too is those are going to be important pieces for the bucks and their growth and uh staying with there especially with some of the younger teams in the East and the NBA as a whole when we return I want to revisit some of the lighter moments from last year that we had a chance to experience at the arena a handful of things pop up to mind here so we’ll get into that conversation coming up after this un locked on bucks well when I uh think back to last year Gabe there is we touched on a lot that happened and uh changed not all of it had to do with the game itself so I guess first and foremost uh you were the one that started documenting these I think we all paid attention but you were to my knowledge the first to put it out there on social media all the jackpot shot winners so what prompted that yeah you know I I I remember I think how it all started was I I think you could take it I’m looking at a two prong approaches so one you have the excitement of when the shot does go in and then it’s pure pandemonium everyone’s going nuts the MC is going nuts and it’s all fun and games but then on the other side you get some really bad just uh I don’t even know how to describe it but just goofy shots and I thought just like what the heck just someone’s got to catalog these for historical references so yeah that’s I guess sort of became one of my little niches of just documenting it every um every game and there’s some like I mean there’s some pretty neat celebrations some guys just anytime you get a swish it’s pure ponum and whatnot but yeah it’s something fun to keep an eye it has been interesting to see how they’ve changed the format because sometimes they would like now it’s like one shot and before they would get 35 seconds yeah fluctuates but yeah it’s something to fun to keep me sometimes I’ll almost miss it because I’m typing my story but I I got to keep an eye out now there is nothing more disappointing than a bad shot when you when you see that too like you’ll you’ll see it especially from where uh we’re seated for the radio broadcast that it’s right there at Center Court that you can see okay this one’s online this is looking good but when it’s a total dud there’s nothing more deflating and disappointing it’s like you just wasted the last 30 seconds of your life of like that’s really the effort that you’re putting out there the worst is when they can’t even hit the free throw to like oh so it’s like for those who aren’t at the games this year like I said the contest rules will change but this year you had to hit a layup free throw free throw three to qualify for the jackpot shot and then in years prior the contestants would actually have a chance to select whether they shoot yes free throw for 500 three-pointer for three and then a half court shot for five CR and I would always argue with Eric name of the athletic I said Eric goes I’m always doing the free throw for a thousand or for 500 I’m like Eric no you gotta go big because if I miss a free throw I’m gonna be myself but if I miss a half court shot I’m not gonna be upset like I would hedge it I would because I had this conversation I think with Eric too I would do the three because you got we’re not NBA players but maybe a 25% chance at hitting that three-pointer I mean if you miss a three it’s not totally embarrassing if you miss a free throw though like yeah man I know it’s an NBA hoop and everything but you missed a free throw you you went that low on yourself and you still missed that’d be brutal yeah i’ would be so fearful of just airballing it at that point um so I would imagine this was probably the most engaged with tweet you have ever had but are you a real housewives no so I’ll tell you my story about that I was sitting Courtside watching The Players warm up and then all of a sudden I just see this level of security I mean it was nuts I’m like is the princess of whales here like that these ladies just with these outrageous outfits one’s carrying the Greek flag comes sits right next to me and I’m just like okay I I’ve seen Bill Clinton at bucks games yeah or um he’s friends with the lazares he did not have no anywhere near the amount of security that these ladies had so I just I’m just like who are these people and then I I asked I think it was like a cameraman for the documentary and he’s just like oh these are the Real Housewives of Salt Lake and I have no idea and then it’s funny enough some lady at my day-to-day job comes up to me jealous as ever she’s like you are sitting next to Angie I’m like I don’t know who this lady is I have I’ve never seen a episode of it I’ve never seen I mean I’ve had zero interaction with it but I may need to get I don’t know what is it on Showtime or something I think I heard it I think it’s Bravo yeah come on see if I’m on the season well I that was I saw I mean I I saw your initial tweet and then it started to take off two of people retweeting it and other tweets of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City are at fiser forum and you’re like wait a minute we’re not even playing the jazz tonight like what is the story here I think it was like a February game against the Hornets yeah and I remember asking a few people like what is the story here and I I asked somebody uh from the Bucks marketing team too like what why are the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City here and like well they’re filming for the TV show and one of them I think she’s green he a big Giannis fan like that I mean that’s it like fine it’s it’s great promotion for f serve but really okay yeah the fact that it was just some random game in February did not help the it is so bizarre definitely one of the weirder um encounters I’ve seen or celebrity s sightings I’ve seen at a buck game I don’t know if you remembered this but I still don’t even know why he was here but I think it was last the president of I was just going to bring this up yeah because to your point we had him on as a halftime interview and the like there was still security but for a president of another country it was nowhere near the level of what we saw on the floor for the Real Housewives this is so bizarre so I don’t know who’s gonna be at the at the arena next year but I feel like we should get some sort of pool going to like just obscure celebrities of who’s gonna be the next like well we all know how um flavor flave saying the national anthem this Dem Mar on so it’s just the stories keep on coming I love just a random celebrity sighting it’s so much fun the um the president of was it Iceland I can’t remember which other country it was but he from my understanding his son was a huge Young on his fan so that’s why they made the Trek over here to take in a Bucks game but also from my my recollection he had fine seats but it wasn’t what you would expect for a president it was just in a general the lower bowl yeah it was like oh wow that’s where we put him okay um people did uh did you ever have to answer whether or not you subscribed to pep Everly’s podcast I did not but I know a few other members of the media anytime I spoke to Pat he was in the uh media room at the yeah um at the stand so but yeah I know a little bit unfortunate of how that H un all unfolded at the end of the year but I mean it goes to show just like we were talking about the Bucks avoided the national Spotlight for so long and this season of just out of these continued to rack up until the final well after the final no horn sounded um I I guess I’ll sneak in one actual basketball question here if you had to to pick or had to guess if I were to tell you there is one uh how would we put this of the top seven rotational players that is not going to be on the team next year the the most likely player for that would be who I think it would be Bobby poris or did you say not part of yeah I think not part yeah yeah I think it sort of just seemed like his time came to an end this year I think that looking ahead we all know the Bucks don’t have a lot of flexibility to make a move so I think as we get closer to the NBA draft there may be some Rumblings about him whether it be it could be Pat htan it could be a player like Maran bamp and then you have of course the 33rd uh overall pick in the second round something like along those lines I think could be used to leverage a player to come and assist Milwaukee in their needs I think just Bobby just it wasn’t the best of playoff series for him as we all know um it just sort of seems as his shelf life has expired sort of similar to just how it we reached the end of the buen hoser era like you know just there’s a admiration between both parties um but at the end of the day it’s just something that has reached its course so and I think just given the fact that he would likely add the most to a potential return yeah even more likely that he would be uh the player on that’s most likely to be um traded I I joke I’m like the day he get leaves Milwaukee a lot of marketing agencies in Milwaukee are going to be SC because he’s I mean he’s he’s everywhere everywhere he’s like the David grber of basketball you know on billboards left and right so he loves those sponsorships so um but I mean if it is the end for him what a run I mean truly a man of the people he’ll get warm receptions the rest of his career but yeah and and I mean if it is he reinvented his career too when you think about he had bounced from Team to team to the Bulls the Wizards the Knicks and he had been a starter he had been a bench guy he never really found that role I think the thing that most casual fans knew Bobby poris for was the fight with niiko mitic and he found the perfect fit here in Milwaukee so um yeah it’s it’s again that’s that’s going to be one of the interesting things to keep an eye on this summer is how very few options the Bucks have to make some changes as we just talked about them remaining consistent but there is still some change needed that’s maybe the lever you could pull to get the most in return so that’ll be interesting if that is uh indeed the case the uh last thing I have for you is um you I don’t know if I would say stole because you you actually did it but you took one of my ideas that I had la thought about here and um I forget where I discovered it because it wasn’t through I think you tweeted it out I think it was like on a Milwaukee subreddit because now this this Google file pops up everywhere now but uh you were the guy and I saw the who created it and thought I wonder if that’s Gabe and then saw you mention it you were the guy that put together and ranked the best taco trucks in Milwaukee that everybody has stumbled on um on Reddit Twitter wherever where you see the Google Drive Link that’s you that created that so what led to that yeah so funny enough that you had the same idea because that’s how it initially formed I was driving around it was Co we were in the heart of covid so everything was shut down restaurants were just in the beginning stages of promoting their takeouts um and I’m just just driving around I I I must have been coming home from the grocery store or something and I just see like three taco trucks on my way five minute drive home and I’m like I wonder if someone’s actually tried to like not I didn’t even like think it initially I’m like maybe not try but like just like log all these taco trucks then I eventually got to a place where I’m like okay I’m G to try it and then what the heck I’ll rank him I think Eric was the guy who was like okay you need it we need ranking here so we can’t just have like pictures of Taco so then I’m like okay it’s pandemic I don’t have anything better to do so this is like me inste instead of like doing something useful like learning how to play a guitar or learning another language I’m guy that’s trying to visit every taco truck in the city so uh yeah I just started driving around it gave it was I mean we all know how boring Co was and just gave you something to um so I think I haven’t done it in a while um I was going to say has the list updated at all no the list has not updated in a few years actually um but I think the last time I counted it was like six taco trucks and I’ll like it’s so funny it’s like a really Niche mark But like I recognize the taco trucks I visited still and then I’m be oh that’s new one I should admit so if I ever do pick it back up again I know there’s dozens of new taco trucks uh in the city um I will give a shout out to my top taco truck uh El tapao which is on Juran 7th is one of their locations uh everything from taste to presentation to Transportation they give you a good nice old uh styrofoam box with everything laid out in it um it knocked it out of the park so that’s the one I go to a lot so um but yeah just something fun to do and I’m glad it’s I’m glad to hear that people are still resorting to it uh I I just saw it recirculated the other day that I think I was just killing time and I think I was on the Milwaukee subreddit and saw somebody post like new to town and what’s the best Mexican food around here and somebody in the comments like here’s something that somebody put together ranking time so it still gets shared all the time great that’s my contribution to the world have I know you haven’t updated the list but has anything changed in your rankings have you found anything have you tried anything new that would move into the top three or [Music] five no but I will say that elrays um it’s not a taco truck but for those who know LR in the Milwaukee area stop into one of the restaurants because absolute fire they’re so good and delicious um so that’s always fun to venture on into you should have to uh Just for kicks like randomly in the mix of all of them just throw one in there that’s just Taco Bell tried the chicken ctin and taco yeah pceo how do you come up with the decimals for the rankings oh you know I just sit there and I think I’m like flower uh tortilla was a little moist you know maybe it’s and then I just think back to the last one and then I just whatever number I gave the last one this so I got to go at least a tenth of a point lower but I will say the ones that are highly rated are very good because there are I I think I’ve of the top five I think I’ve had four of the five and would concur but yeah I remember and it was same time right around Co of you know I wonder if there’s a list like I should do this and then discovered you did it so now my my thing that I’m thinking of is I really I’m debating starting the same type of thing for nachos in the city because like if I go to a restaurant that’s usually the first thing I’ll look for at any type of restaurant like I’m not super hungry I’ll just order the nachos and it’s either really good or really bad depending on where you’re at so I’ve toyed with maybe I should just throw myself into that this summer there’s a uh the publication Milwaukee record which I shout out to Matt and Tyler um the co-owners there but there’s a guy Caleb westall I think is his name and he every Friday for the last I don’t know how many years it maybe six maybe less and maybe more but it’s like in that ballpark of like for the six last six years every Friday has gone to a fish fry different fish fry in the city like not even just Milwaukee but like German Town and stuff and it like he has an in-depth write up so for those who are looking for fish fry recommendations this summer definitely check out the Milwaukee R I did I saw that too and I I thought about that too earlier this year but then I think I got to two and then it was we had like four straight Friday games like all right I guess this is just kind of permanently shelved I will float out another potential teaser of an article that I’ve deated with uh not debated but floated with my editor uh Vani uh doing when we reach the True Dog Days of Summer and the NBA is done and it’s hot out there’s no major sports going on but we all know the Bucks promotion of a free Frosty for every bucks when yes I’m like how much danger would I put my body inflict on my body I went to tried to go to Every Milwaukee Wendy’s location and Ado Frosty I’m just like now that’s doing it for but I’m just I think I researched it and it was 11 I think is the number of Wendy’s yeah that sounds right this is inspired by again Milwaukee record Tyler Mass who went to every milwauke Taco Bell Taco Bell yeah I don’t know and what and he just recently did one on Quick Trip too which that I love it’s so pure so would you do 49 frosties to match the win total from last year Justin I’m still trying to cover the team next [Laughter] year well I I was no I was just gonna say I can’t uh I can’t encourage enough to if you have not looked at the rankings to find that it is out there it is readily available um and do your own research to see if you have any gripes with gab’s list of the best hakwood trucks in the area here uh this is a lot of fun looking back at last year and especially some of those moments that uh I think you caught a lot of attention for with the jackpot shot and uh again I don’t know how many retweets and Views you got off of that tweet but I remember seeing it in the first quarter and it was already exploding of documenting The Real Housewives there who knows when the I have to keep an eye out for that episode because I told my mom I made it to reality TV and who knows maybe they’ll be back next year maybe then you could hey that’s that’d be one great halftime interview on The Bu well or you could follow up with them too you could revisit that s ask question this well I I mean we have gotten some pretty decent guests on halftime though I did try and Lobby pretty hard to get the wrestler Bailey on at halftime when she was promoting uh WWE Smackdown and uh I won’t name who that books the interviews for me on the Bucks media relations staff but when I made the request to him he had no idea who I was talking about and sued as if he had no interest in even attempting to AR that oh man well maybe there’ll be another Smackdown one can only hope uh gab this a lot of fun good to catch up with you and I’m sure we will see each other this summer at the draft or God forbid any other major news happens with this team who knows what’s next but appreciate you having me on Justin a lot of fun all right we will uh be back once again tomorrow as camil will rejoin us and we’ll take a look back at the year of Brook Lopez and then also the Flashback Friday episode I think it’s still the Brandon Jennings trade is the leader for that one so for Gabe I’m Justin we’ll talk to you once again tomorrow on lock on bucks

Justin catches up with Gabe Stoltz of Brew Hoop to get his thoughts on the rollercoaster that was covering the 2023-24 Milwaukee Bucks. What were the most memorable moments, how would he sum things up and what are his thoughts on where the team is headed? Plus we revisit some memorable moments from last year and talk taco trucks

Jrue Holiday B: Got traded by Dame and Giannis. Giannis picking Dame over Jrue Holiday in All-Star is so disrespectful. They call him trash.

Brook Lopez C- : They said he was the DPOY candidate and I never bought it. It was a contract yr and that all. Doesn't wanna play in the paint. Over paid. I don't think he even cares about winning.
Bobby B: He needs to stop crying about being the 6th man. You wanna be the 6th man so much? Average 18 points and play defense. Every yr Bobby has to be the 6th man.

Pat C people wanted him gone but he never gave up. Unbelievable.

Khris Middleton B- Khris is actually THE REASON why the Bucks got Dame. Khris' lack of consistency over the yrs and just missing games is why the Bucks got Dame. If Khris was good at defense, consistent and efficient, the Bucks wouldn't have needed Dame. Khris Middleton playing those meaningless playoffs games to boost up his playoffs points and ppl are out here like awww look at Khris. Not fooling me.

Dame C- cause he was supposed to change everything in Milwaukee for the better but made it worse. Definitely a fraud. This is a nightmare and everyone is talking about it. Chris Broussard and Rob Parker said Dame has been exposed in Milwaukee.

    Doc Rivers D –

If you don't agree with me, don't just open your mouth. Actually tell me why I am wrong.
