Raptors Picking Up Bruce Brown’s Option…
reports have come out indicating the Toronto Raptors are picking up Bruce Brown’s option worth over $20 million for next season and this has serious implications in the Raptor’s ability to bring back specific free agents for next year and play around in the trade market ahead of the NBA draft during the offseason or heck going into next season so lots of stuff to discuss about this decision B by MSI jury and the Raptor’s front office to pick up the big money on Bruce Brown’s team option so lots of stuff to sink our teeth into but before we do folks you guys have been crushing it hitting the like button just want to say thank you for all the likes we can get on the vids if you’re enjoying the daily Toronto Raptors coverage make sure to keep liking the vids it helps me out a ton and love delivering the content to you but let’s dive into all the news cuz we have a report that gave some insight into Bruce Brown’s situation essentially the Trona raptors have several offseason items ahead including figuring out how much restricted free agent em manual quickly will command out there on the market whether to pick up Bruce Brown’s $23 million team option or not and whether to retain Gary Trent Jr free agency well the Toronto Raptors are expected to exercise the $23 million team option on Bruce Brown League sources have told Hoops hype e echoing another report that has come from the Toronto Star doing so will make brown a noteworthy trade chip in the final year of his contract for a contending playoff caliber team that teams are going to monitor so multiple reports have come out now we’ve discussed the the report from the Toronto Star already on this channel but basically the team option that the Raptors have right now on Bruce Brown’s contract they’re going to pick that up and while looking at the money and we can see it there now the details $23 million cap hit for the Toronto Raptors next season for a guy that underwhelmed a lot of Toronto Raptors fans since he’s come onto the team this does make a ton of sense for the Toronto Raptors to not let him walk for nothing in free agency even with everything said regarding his stats I mean we can look at his stats 11 points per game last season four rebounds three assists not really a guy that seems to Mann over $20 million out there on the free agency market I mean you shot only 32% from behind the three-point line and only 34% in corner 3es and he’s not crazy young he’s not an insane sort of prospect at 28 years old by the start of next season and you know not a three and D guy in the sense that he was clamping people down left right and Center last season I mean under steel and a block per game but uh you know in the eye test watching Bruce Brown play it wasn’t something where he was on another level just positionally and I think injuries did have a large part to do with that you know in terms of his ability to perform on the defensive end for the tronto Raptors but looking at that you might say he why on Earth would we even be considering giving Bruce Brown this $23 million for next season well one he was the centerpiece of the Pascal seak trade playerwise obviously the first round draft picks were the reason the Raptors made that deal not because of Bruce brown but still it’s a bad look you let him walk for nothing especially where you had the option of acquiring a first round pick from the New York Knicks ah had of last year’s trade deadline so so Optics you don’t want to let Bruce Brown Walk for nothing that’s one two there’s a lot of value in this Bruce Brown contract even if it comes with some uh you know question marks about how it affects other players which we’re going to dive into in this video because Bruce Brown is a guy that would be valuable to a ton of contending teams as that article from hoopsy basically stated why is that looking at a sort of contract well one cap flexibility because he is on an expiring contract Bruce Brown even though it’s a ton of money for this upcoming year you can acquire take in his salary as a guy that is good at basketball that can fit around a championship winning team I mean we saw it a couple seasons ago what he was able to do to take the Denver Nuggets over to the next level I mean he’s a proven Championship caliber player role player I mean a guy that can come in and play minutes in big spots for your contending team so you get him for one year and then you could also send out some long-term money give up the Andrew Wiggins s contracts where they’re making $20 million not just for next season but for the season after that and the season after that you know because these good teams are usually in insane cap hits they usually have a lot of money in their docket and then if you’re not familiar with the NBA cap situation the more years you’re actually in the luxury tax so you’re paying your team tons of money that’s when uh you have to pay insane sort of luxury fees and taxes in terms of being in the repeater tax and stuff so a team again like the Golden State Wars I made a video that’s why the Wiggins comparison being brought up here in this vid but essentially you know the the Warriors could get off an Andrew Wiggins or one of those types of contracts and you know bring in Bruce Brown who’s a quality role player and can have an impact right away and will be off the books come next summer so it’s kind of a win-win scenario similar to what they did with Chris Paul and Jordan po last off season so that’s the value out there on the trade market so not only could the Raptors get maybe a rehabilitation project or something you know in a potential Bruce Brown trade with high upside where the Raptors aren’t really in a place to be contending right now it’s worth taking those risks you could also get draft Capital back in return which would be huge for this team so that’s the reason you keep Bruce Brown you keep that asset and regardless of you know how ugly the contract looks for one season right it’s still valuable out there on the open market but it does have some impacts on other players specifically a guy like Gary Trent Jr who plays a very similar position to Bruce Brown obviously but I think you’d pick up Bruce brown with the hopes of trading him in the off season but regardless of that happens or not if you keep on Bruce Brown’s money it impacts the amount of money the Raptors have at their disposal this off season now we have a ton of cap flexibility so we would be able to bring back a Gary Trent Jr who is a guy that I know a lot of raptors fans want to see back on the team 14 points per game last season three rebounds two assists he never took the leap a lot of raptor fans were hoping for I mean there were a lot of people calling for him to be the next Bradley Beal bucket getter score for this Raptor team but he did take a step up he leveled up in terms of his spot up three-point shooting last year still only 38% from the corners but he doesn’t take a lot of those shots from that area most of his shots are from above the brid break threes 53% of his shots are from behind the three-point line and he makes 39% of them again is the elite finisher around the basket he has that floater in his game so he’s not horrible by any stretch of the imagination but really he is a spot up jump shooter at this point in his career makes a few of those mides those pulls things like that but overall you’re just getting a three-point sniper in Gary Trent Jr that On Any Given night could look like clams could look like an elite Defender but that’s on any given Night On Any Given night you can get the exact opposite so Gary Trent Jr regardless of him not taking that step up in fact regressing last season besides his spot up three-point shooting he is a guy that is still valuable for the Toronto Raptors and still again pretty young I mean how old is he he’s 25 years old going into next year so still a dude that I think a lot of raptors fans myself included would love to see back on the Toronto Raptors for next season but Bruce Brown’s money whether he’s actually on the books or not does impact the ability to sort of keep Gary Trent Jr around and is something that should be factored in so that’s one thing to sort of discuss and look at regarding uh Bruce Brown contract extension how it affects you know Gary Trent Jr whether he’s traded at the NBA draft or not because this is the thing regardless of you want Bruce Brown on the team or not next season because he’s a questionable fit especially if Gary’s back I mean we have RJ we have Grady dick and we have Gary Trent Jr three guys that are younger with higher upside that you play that shooting guard position not to mention you know a JFL or any players we potentially draft in this year’s NBA draft so there’s all those things to factor in and you know whatever right should Bruce Brown be back or not I don’t know I think everyone would hope he’s trade ahead of the NBA Draft so more flexibility to figure out what’s going on but even still if you’re making one of those deals money is coming back in a Bruce Brown trade that’s the point of whatever is going on I mean there’s some interesting options the Raptors could look at in terms of players out there for a Bruce Brown deal I mean we can make this bigger essentially the guys that are out there I mean a Kyle kosma is in the salary range of a Bruce Brown you know his deal matching whether K’s coming to the Raptors or a player going out on the other end you know the Raptors taking back different salary jayman Daniels will be huge a lot of these guys are kind of unrealistic malcol bro be an interesting backup point guard for this squad Lono ball be a crazy risk but would be uh interesting I know the Atlanta Hawks are going to be overhauling their roster this off season it seems like so DeAndre Hunter might be a guy that’s getable right Jared Allen would be a dream pickup Marcus Smart I know a lot of raptors fans be interested in him and uh Jaylen Bron would be the absolute dream that’s no world that’s occuring but a TI Rosier Draymond Green Aaron Gordon these are all the guys that are kind of at Bruce Brown’s contract level and uh you know interesting pieces maybe the Raptors could toy and stuff I won’t dive into the trade machine too much right now but basically regardless you can see the level of contracts that are out there if you know a deal is to be made right that money is still coming back to the Tron Raptors which would eat into the Raptor’s ability to bring back Gary so that’s something you can factor in and then there’s the legitimate possibility that Bruce Brown is back on this team and we saw a couple cryptic messages from Bruce Brown about two three weeks ago now now at this point where he essentially responded to a raptor fan trash on his game saying don’t worry they’ll see he’ll prove Raptor fans wrong with his ability to play that’s what this tweet was in the context about for Bruce Brown and he also uh made a message on Instagram story saying I’m GNA be honest I miss getting Tim Hortons every morning that’s from Bruce Brown himself as well so maybe that’s his subtle sign to say hey it might not be a shock if I’m back on this team so lots of stuff to sort of uh piece together regarding Bruce Brown’s future but now we do know at least from multiple reports unless these reports are lying because it hasn’t officially happened just yet that Bruce Brown contract is getting picked up so at least we’ll get something from those assets but let me know what you guys think in the comments section down below about this Bruce Brown news you guys the best make this far subscribe to the channel if you guys haven’t already I’m signing out cheers

Trade BB for a first rounder
hmmm 🤔
this is not the bruce brown I know in Denver. Plays like he's in round robin warm ups….i say trade him.
I said it when we did the trade, we get 1 1st round pick for BB and its a win.
Shout out to Bruce Brown’s agent 🤜
Boo, no one's going to want him at $20 million.
If Bruce Brown is on the Raptors opening day roster for 2024-25 season it's a big time fail… the Pacers will have bamboozled, hoodwinked, led astray, the Raptors in the Siakam trade.
Now let's go get Andrew Wiggins. Warriors need as much Cap space as possible.. we need an Allstar 2 way Player to get back into the Playoffs
Ayeee
Trade Trent, Brown, Dick, Poetl, Boucher and commit to a full rebuild.
I think if we trade BB to the right team and he gels they likely could sign him next year to longer but lower deal. Maybe 3 years $15 mil with last year team option. With RJ and Gradey needing mins Bruce is not a fit for us.
:{
Noooooo! Brown is not a fit for the Raptors!
Nobody will want Brown because he is expiring…that is nonsense.
I like GTJ as teammate and if he accepted his role say 20-24 mpg off bench as scoring role player for $12-14 mill 3 years last team option. If he thinks he can get more PT or $ he will likely go.
Send him and a 2nd to New Orleans for Herb Jones
I thought his value was in being traded before the option was picked up? So a team could shed 23ish million in salary, Bruce Browns contract wouldn’t be picked up and the acquired team can now spend 23 million on the open market.
Should have let him walk. Hope we can trade him without having to take back a bad contract
I can't wait for the Brown for OG sign and trade
