Great news! I love Ty, happy about this. Anybody complaining is a dumbass.

  2. Otherwise-Tale9671

I know one thing, Ty Lue hasn’t been able to coach Kawhi’s knees for sh*t…

  3. Upset_Purchase_5903

And let the Tyliban Wars commence in this comment section lmao

  4. Dutch4Prez

Ty may be frustrating at times but he worked extremely well with Harden. Let’s build him a better group this offseason if we can unload PG .

  5. AshenSacrifice

Just gotta give him young players to play and get rid of all the old ass vets he shows favoritism to. Force his hand

  6. Ty Lue didnt sign a new contract to coach a team that is going blow it up FYI

  7. Rodriguez030

Steve Ballmer is a loser. He wants to keep this guy to make all our overpaid “stars” play together to fill some seats in his arena.Dude obligated Ty Lue to play Westbrick just for the fans.Shit is outrageous.Downvote me if you want to idgaf this the truth. This “fill up the seats” mentality won’t give us nothing

Happy about this. As much as we bag on him during bad games, we really should be lucky to have him. EVERY fan for EVERY team bags on their coach when their season falls short. Best coach in the league? No not at all, but absolutely not anywhere close to being the worst or in the bottom 50% of head coaches out there.

  9. TorontoRaptors34

He’s the only coach who can never coach his best player

  10. danielhime

Im really happy we got this done. Ty may have some strange rotations occasionally and does tend to fall in love with certain players (still cant get over his mook obsession), but considering the coaching market right now hes clearly in the top tier.

If we panicked and fired Lue only to hire Vogel, Bud, or Reddick yall would be calling for their heads in May guaranteed. Coaching continuity matters a lot more than is given credit for.

Edit: Wtf is wrong with this sub how is half this thread downvoted

  11. Lue has never had a full season/post season with a healthy team. He’s made due with what he can. Is he perfect? Absolutely not. But, there’s no coach that’s perfect. Not even close. Context be damned on this sub, though. Everything is Lue’s fault if it’s not Westbrook’s fault. Or Mook’s fault. Or Wall. Or Bledsoe. Or Bradley. Or Trez. Or Lou Will. We should rename this sub /r/Scapegoats

  12. Happy-Cauliflower-22

Don’t mind this one bit, need a better roster though

  13. ApolyonKhan

I’ve been having mixed sensations with him these last years. But. He’s been… Almost great, and there’s nothing in the market that could make us improve sooo

  14. LessThanBlake

Ty is a good coach and every fan base will complain about the coach after 4-5 seasons. We know his flaws and strengths by now, and I don’t think his flaws are necessarily enough to limit the ceiling of the team.

The front office does need to save Ty from himself though when they build the roster this off season. Every coach has favorites and will over rely on them, but we haven’t seen nearly enough lineup experimentation out of Ty these last couple years

  15. AngsMcgyvr

Based. Condolences for all the coaches in here who were hoping to apply for the job.

  16. jayeljefe

So we’re just going to never develop any young players then I guess. Shame, I’d love to see what Kobe, Kai and Jordan have to offer.

  17. Upbeat-Pause-1409

Why are people upset about this? He hasn’t been the problem guys

  18. This is good news for real, I’m glad he’s staying

  19. KingAlfonse72

More plumlee Russ Tucker lineups incoming.

    Ballmer is an idiot.

  20. He’s a good coach. He’s not on the level of a coach like spo but we aren’t getting a better coach than lue. It’s not he’s fault he has to deal with injured stars every playoff run

  21. Mistake of colossal proportions. if youre going to run this old has been team back you need a new voice. Cant wait for the slow motion iso offense, dribble for 15+ seconds, step back hesi 2’s and 3’s for another year. He’ll be fired when we inevitably struggle this season though but signing him to a long term deal is just a massive headscratcher after this failure of a season.

  22. So very disappointed. We will never see the 213 era with a different coaching perspective, which I think is unfortunate.

I will get over it but his rotations, guard heavy line ups, and certain decisions like omitting players completely will drive me mad. There is nothing to signal he will change his habits.

  23. LLUrDadsFave

Sad. Especially if they gonna keep giving him these old ass rosters.

  24. jgroove_LA

is everyone OK, I know there be some haters here

  25. SuccessfulVisit1873

Good for Ty Lue… and fuck the clippers

  26. say goodbye to any chances of our young guys getting any minutes and say hello to more mason plumlee minutes

  27. One of the most depressing news this franchise has gotten in recent times. Committing to Taliban after you’ve witnessed a team showcase ALL of the features of a badly coached team is a whole new definition of a hellscape scenario.

I don’t even have to mention it. The clogged offense, no defense principles whatsoever, the garbage “hood” mentality he portrays to the media and refs etc..

Sad state of affairs. I view this guy as the complete opposite of Popovich and Spoelstra. Those are coaches that are fundamentally elite even if they have to coach garbage.

Lue will turn any good-to-great team into garbage with his bullshit.
