Jayson Tatum talks Sweeping the Pacers, FULL Postgame Interview 🎤

oh question for Jason Jason your reaction when Jaylen Brown’s name was called everybody just he seemed surprised everybody was just seemed very excited for him what was that moment like for him no that was special uh big time to to be rewarded for uh you know how you play and uh you know that’s a that’s a special accomplishment uh for him and for everybody and obviously going back to the finals special accomplishment for you guys what’s is there a difference is it is it kind of like the same type of emotions what what’s that like for you uh it’s special right even though we’ve been there before most of us have uh you don’t take it for granted right we were excited uh as the hell of a team we just played um they they made us earn every single game and um we’re extremely grateful to uh you know move on to the finals Jason All Season you guys have talked about the importance of you know not overreacting to wins losses sort of staying mild mannered how much do you think that’s helped you get to this point and how much how important is the balance of keeping that knowing that this is an amazing accomplishment but there’s still more work to do yeah I mean the playoffs is like an emotional roller coaster um and trying to find a balance right in between the wins and the losses trying to stay even kill uh throughout the entire however you know long you’re playing uh is important um the team that does that the best usually um has a lot of success Jason Jaylen it’s big play at the end to win it’s the block pass he’s known as a scorer so I mean for you watching him someone that you’ve grown with your whole career how much would it mean that in that big moment what defined his impact on the game was that pass uh now that was special uh you know we talked about it before as a team however long it takes whatever it takes whatever we got to do um to to make sure that we move on in advance Jason obviously there’s obviously a lot that’s happened since you guys were last in this position a couple of years ago as a group you know for you and Jaylen to guys who’ve been here like what is different about you guys specifically in terms of growth over the last couple years and how do you think that will help you get the four wins you’re looking for over the next few weeks um learning from our experience right that playoff run uh was a lot of up and downs you know obviously we fell short of the ultimate goal last year um lost in the Conference Finals so um uh I think you know we’ve just applied everything that we’ve learned to this season this postseason and uh you know it’s been working really well shot like no that was that was big um you know D white uh is big- time player you right and uh especially in that moment uh it’s a lot on the line pressure uh but you know we trust him JB made the right pass and uh D knocked down the hell of a shot J the knock on you guys in the past was often you know can can you close out T tough games uh when it’s crunch time and this series cut were in trouble three of these four games what what has gone into the evolution there over the years and what did you lean on to come back in in those three games just being decisive um understanding watching a lot of film knowing the things that we want to run in those late game situations um and being able to apply it and having carryover from film sessions and and practice and and shoot arounds and things like that Jason Derek uh highlighted the championship stations that Joe has kind of run you guys through what about those do you think has helped set you guys up for to be at this Championship stage that you’re about to embark on uh you know it’s just it’s the little things that we talk about that uh you know can help you win a championship defensive rebounding uh crashing the glass on offense uh communicating and you know just little things we do every single day uh that you know can take you a long way Jason to your last point the game was so tight throughout the second half and there you are five minutes to go and under battling with Turner among others on the Block as your game has evolved more and more how much do you relish a physical challenge like that yeah I mean it’s the playoffs and uh you know in that moment is I said all the time every press conference is do whatever it takes whatever it takes uh to help the team win and uh for us to advance thanks Jason

  1. if you’re smart u would know that pacers are a good team but not on dallas or wolves level and look how they pushed celtics in all these games , yea no way celtics beating mavs in the finals with they 2 headed monster

  2. What a snooze fest. Only exciting team in the East was the Knicks. These Celtics are like Cockroaches. They keep slipping through the cracks. If only Prime Lebron was still in the east to keep these bums out of the finals.

  3. do the celtics even have any all stars on their team? wow this incredible, a team of no names making it so far into the playoffs.

  4. The amount of publicity the Celtics get for their accomplishments is sad regardless of this is there 2nd time Tatum & Brown are just as young if not younger than your favorite player two players but they not Edward’s Or Morant they were drafted by the organization I’m not a Celtics by any means I hate them if anything but I envy them for it in todays NBA everyone’s two major role players aren’t event drafted by that team (Lakers Suns Knicks) so it’s cool to see something like this happen again (Curry/Klay Jokic/Murray Giannis/Midelton) narrative is changing where money aint buying you a ring no more hard work dedication and patience is and I think the Celtics have been more than patient and more than deserving of being Champs

  5. Ima laker die hard this dude catching strays but it comes with the territory for being a #1. Jaylen didn’t play well last game and focus was still on Tatum. Get used to it young fella

  6. Boston just got lucky with 8 super stars got hurt on 8 teams .Sorry tatum your not a champion you just got lucky. If this team gets the broom or win a championship, they are frauds.Still got lucky 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  7. The people that say Celtics had an easy path to the Finals are the same people that glazes LeBron who literally had the easiest path to the Finals everytime he went. LOL

  8. JT is a great player should be no debate ! winning the title will shut up the critics

  9. This sports media these days the narrative change more than change underwear! It's like they want to try turn Jayson Tatum or Jalen Brown against together. They are a complete team with all the pieces and everybody knows they role and great team! True Holiday will be a first ballot hall of famer with the last couple of years on his career! Al Horford I always thought he didn't get the credit he deserves for putting the Atlanta Hawks on the map by getting them to a eastern conference finals and they had the best record that year no respect cause they haven't been the same since they broke that team up disrespectful!!

  10. Anyone saying Celtics losing are casuals lol 😂. They have Jrue Derrick white and both Tatum and Brown to guard Kyrie/Luka. These dudes are all like 6”4+ plus porzingis in the paint and he can switch pick and roll. Horford great defender as well. Celtics in 5

  11. The difference between this team right now and previous year, or hell even arguably parts of this season, is that they've finally seemed to figure out how to close.

Last year's Celtics wouldve let this series go to 6.

  12. I hate the Celtics. Cant stand them. Their fans stink. I am a Sixers fan so it’s supposed to be this way—- WITH THAT SAID.. it annoys me how much I like Jayson Tatum lmao he’s a good dude

  13. As an early 90's baby, a Boston native and a lifetime NBA fan .. all I can say is Jayson Tatum is one of the most underrated and quietly accomplished basketball players Ive ever witnessed in the game. His persistence through organazation discource is second to none and he's one ring away from solidifying his place in NBA history.
