Lively could return next game

"Lively (neck) could return as soon as Thursday's Game 5 against Minnesota, Shams Charania said on FanDuel's Run It Back.

Lively avoided the concussion protocol and is apparently trending in a positive direction"

Man I really hope he is back next game. Dwight Powell looked like a headless chicken and Maxi looked bit rusty as well.

Also, we cannot just play Gafford 40 minutes, and Lively has looked better than him.

Neck strain could be tricky but I think he should still be fairly effective.

Same injury would be way worse for our playmakers like Luka, since they have to move their neck all the time to scan for open players.

Anyhow,

Mavs in 5!!!!

Huge news, seems like a return this series even if not game 5 is likely

Good we need him to close the series.

Gafford in small spurts is fine but he still needs to be around 20min a game. Maxi is obviously still in pain when he shoots cause he’s not even looking for his shot. Powell can’t go anywhere near the court.

His ability to play against the blitz is what we need, hope for a speedy and quick recovery

He is our most complete center. Hope is is healthy and ready.

  5. Man with how stiff he was walking I’d be suprised.

I really hope he’s ready to go G5. I know it’s asking a lot, but Mavs need the rook out there! I feel like Mavs would have completed the sweep if he played in G4. Mavs had their bigs in foul trouble and were punishing them inside with lobs to Gafford and DJJ but then the Mavs went away from it when they had to bring Maxi in for Gafford. If Mavs could have plugged Lively in instead, I know they would have kept pounding the paint.

They used the neck sprain as catfish to avoid the protocol lmaoo nice

Baring some setback I think he plays tomorrow. Seems like an injury that improves quickly with rest and can be dealt with through pain management. He is also 20 years old so his body bounces back quicker. Having him for 15 minutes even gives us what I think we need to close out if Luka and Kyrie deliver their usual performances.
