Fine w/ him keeping the drivers seat warm until we get the prince that was promised, nolan traore, next year. My precious.

For this year’s draft, there’s no question about who would fit because we need so dang much. Dilli would definitely fit imo, but the question is, would Castle, Sheppard, or Topic fit better? I would tend to think yes, but there’s no clear one thats better than the other imo. I think all these guys are young enough to improve their weak areas.
Our biggest needs include offense creator/floor general, three point shooting, and defense, especially when Wemby is on the bench. These four guards all excel with at least one of these skills but have question marks surrounding their weak areas. It falls to who can improve their weak areas best, and I would put my confidence in Sheppard or Castle personally.
I think all four guards will have at least decent careers provided they stay healthy, and that’s part of the reason I wouldn’t want Topic. A was all in on Topic until the second injury, not sure how bad it really was but for it to happen to the same knee in a few months makes me worry about using a lotto pick on him. I question Robs abilities mostly because of his size and attitude on defense, which of course the latter can be fixed but you can’t do much about the former.
Ultimately I think whoever we pick will work just fine, I just happen to believe more in Sheppard’s elite shooting or Castle’s superb defense as floors to build on. I think any of the guards I mentioned would be better than our current ones (except for Devin obviously).
EDIT: This also hinges on just how the coaches want to utilize Wemby, do we have faith he can be like Jokic-lite? If Pop is betting on that, I’m not sure if Topic or Dilli would be the correct picks.

Look, let’s not fuck around here. Yes, Rob Dillingham fits on the Spurs; the real question we need to ask is – Is he the most optimal fit given the options available to us in this draft?
My answer is no; I think Castle has more to his game than what he showed this year at UConn. I think he can become a good PG, and his defensive instincts give us a higher floor than all the other PG prospects in this draft.
