[Pompey] Talking to my sources, the 76ers’ ownership group — they kinda regret what they did five years ago [in trading Jimmy Butler] and they see the success that he’s had. And they realize … he could be in their eyes, the missing piece, and they’re willing to give him the money he wants.

Pls yall don’t do this man only star we’ve had since bron y’all can go ahead and pay Paul George he’s way better

  2. TiltMyChinUp

They chose Simmons and Brett Brown over Butler. So yeah, bit of an oopsie there

  3. WorkID19872018

So let’s make it worse and base a decision for today and tomorrow over a mistake 5 years old. Dumpster fire of a team.

I really don’t see Jimmy losing the chip on his shoulder to come back here for anything less than “f* you” money. Which means I really don’t see him coming back here.

  5. We should’ve never traded Barkley so let’s bring him back!

Can this organization please stop embarrassing itself? Is that even possible?

  7. Theballharperhit

I was one of the few who wanted brown gone and butler to stay but per usual there was a cult following in here for ben and brown and the dick sucking that screwed our team for years.

Idk if I buy this from Pompey. I mean, Morey had nothing to do with that decision 5 years ago

  9. Next-Team

Are there no adults in the building making decisions? This is the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard.

We will right the wrong of not resigning prime Jimmy Butler by signing old Jimmy Butler

  11. TheMightyCatatafish

I mean, yeah. But that was 5 years ago. Can’t exactly go back in time. Jimmy now is good. But not the Jimmy he was 5 years ago.

  12. Ok_Split_1513

Why would Morey care though? He wasn’t part of that and he’s the one making decisions now. Gotta block all these “reports” or this shit will make you insane

Jimmy was the #1 option on a team in the finals a year ago. He’d be the #3 option on our team, that should help with his longevity. He won’t be asked to be the same guy but he’d be huge for leadership.

I’m down with it. If we win 1 ring because of it, any additional extension would have been worth it.

What a great way to run a franchise is to look at mistakes 5 years ago

  15. The ownership of this team has been an unmitigated disaster since they caved to league pressure and fired Hinkie.

There’s no guarantee Hinkie would have built a contender, of course. He made his share of mistakes. But Colangelo, Brett Brown and Elton did as much damage as if they had been hired to deliberately sabotage the team by Danny Ainge.

If it is only two years you have to do it. Maybe butler is too old. If he’s not, he’s one of the only guys who gives us a real chance. The role players available are not going to be the kinds of guys who can get us to
Where we need to be. To me, it’s really we gamble on lebron or butler or we end up in the same spot we have been

  17. No_Statistician9289

Why the fuck do we care what the ownership thinks?

  18. merv_havoc

If they’re trying to fix past mistakes, why stop there?

I’ll take Mikal Bridges and TJ McConnell back please

  19. 1HasNoNam3

Should have never traded AI for Dre miller. Bring him back!!!

  20. I love to make up for my mistakes by trying to fix them 5 years after they make sense. That’s why I tried to get back with my ex after she moved across the country, got married, and had a kid.

  21. I don’t care if he is tweeting something like, I still stand by this statement, Fuck Keith Pompey.
