Every article is more or less the same shit. Gonna ignore all laker news and wait til the wojbomb drops or free agency starts

This is what I had figured they’d do and it makes sense. I’d love to hear that we at least gave Adelman a 2nd interview lol but the persistent Borrego name drop tells me they want him to be the offensive minded lead assistant or even associate head coach. I wouldn’t hate it at all.

Sure lakers. “Nowhere” close to decision 🙄

But but but, everything in life has to be done nowwwwwwwwwwww!

I just can’t wait for the presser and listen to Pelinka talk about how much hard work they put into finding their coach of the future for the 3rd time

For whatever it’s worth, most of the reporting around JJ being the likely head coach has been speculation from sources “around the league” and less inside the FO. In fact, in the Dan Woike article today he noted that the FO has internally referred to the Redick talk as “outside noise”.

I still expect JJ to land the job, but there could be merit to the team still weighing a few options here.

Why is Sam Cassell not ever considered for a HC opportunity?

  8. Rob’s putting out damage control via Woj. He has had multiple conversations with the different candidates and already made up his mind on JJ, but is bringing the candidates in to briefly meet with the FO so that it can be called a “collective decision by the FO”.

Lebron stays? It’s JJ. Lebron goes? Someone else for AD. They’re just waiting on Lebron’s decision first.

still waiting to hear Adelman’s name… probably won’t but its always nice to dream

  11. Idk, I honestly appreciate this approach. Wait to see if they had a legit chance for ty lue, and if not, explore every option to pair with LeBron for the final stretch of his career.

I personally think getting JJ (who can excel at game management, play calling and design, overall x&o’s) and surrounding him with a cabinet of experience and personalities to command the locker room is actually refreshing, and the players have been practically begging for someone to lead in the facets that JJ possesses.

Something I think JJ brings is knowledge and experience of understanding how important offense is and how/where to optimize the lakers in terma of capacity, while recognizing the need for strong team defense, instead of simply funneling and relying on AD to just take care of it. I suspect this is why he didn’t prioritize AD in terms of DPOY. Which is is capable of, but we all complain about relying on AD and watching our team defense falter at every step. I imagine if he got the job, he would have communicated a plan for this lagging facet of our team. I don’t imagine the lakers would hire someone now who didn’t acknowledge this after Hamas.

Good to hear. But who is leaking info on JJ? Or is it just click bait

There’s really no rush for a head coach. Prior to free agency would be ideal. I’m still assuming it’s JJ.

Fuck it. Interview randos off of YouTube too. Might as well get a bit crazy.

I would imagine the lakers wanted to hear some ideas of who JJ wants as his assistants which is why the report of him asking around came out

    This search is depressing…

I’d take most of our recent coaches over who they are interviewing.
