God I said in 2020 we should draft him and was laughed at. I fucking love Deni.

Here’s my BS answer for this BS “what if?”: Dubs undefeated champs since 2020 and heading to the finals now.

Wouldn’t hate it for the FRP, vet that can still improve. Not much difference from a late round lotto.

Big fan of Avdija. He would solve a bunch of issues in a similar way to how Iguodala fit every lineup.

Good player, would be in favor of picking him up. Would likely cost a 1st round pick and other assets.

    DO IT.

Trading 2 for Wendell Carter + 4 and taking Deni or Tyrese was always my favorite option that draft. Not sure how feasible that deal was but it was in the rumor mill.

The interesting thing about Deni is that he projected to be a good tertiary ball handler and scorer who’d need some work on the defensive end. But he’s actually a really strong defender whose shooting now needs to catch up.

I’m also a Wizards fan. He’s developed well despite being in D.C, but he would be significantly better now if he were drafted by the Warriors. A lot of yall gonna poopoo but i’ve been saying for a couple years that he would have already taken Drays spot had he been drafted here.

  7. Avidja completely overlaps with Draymond. If they pursue him this off-season that means Dray has to be part of the trade. Also bear in mind Deni’s trade value is inflated due to his bargain contract.

So you’re going to end up paying a premium price for Deni. A price that won’t reflect his on court impact. Now If we could rope a 3rd team into a deal and trade Draymond + Moody for Deni, I would do that. It would generate some additional cap flexibility to go after another impactful player.

I’d love to get Avdija, but don’t think a mid-first in this draft alone gets it done. The dude will have some suitors.

Nope. I like Gui (I see them as very similar). Play him the amount of minutes that Deni has, and we would have something special. The only ones of interest to me on that team were always Gafford and Coulibaly

Yes, he’s a perfect fit. I think we’d have to overpay, but it would be worth it. He can help unlock the rest of our guys because he acts as a final lineup piece

  11. he struggled a lot his first 3 NBA seasons on offense especially shooting the ball … 8.1 pts on 43/31/73 shooting splits

in comparison klay & wiggns both put up similar shooting % earlier this 2023/24 season

klay averaged 15.4 pts on 40/34/89 shooting splits in the first 22 games during first 2 months this season & also the 5 weeks leading up to klay ultimately benched in mid february he shot 40/35/96 in 16 games

wiggins in his first 2 months where he also struggled mightily averaged 12.3 pts on 42/30/67 shooting splits in his first 25 games

i can’t imagine both the warriors online fan community on social media who bitched and complained about both klay’s & wiggins’ poor shooting thru out this past season with many wanting either or both benched & or traded would’ve been all that thrilled with avdija’s bad & inconsistent shooting his first 2-3 NBA seasons

sure it could’ve helped a bit playing alongside curry & draymond but it didn’t help both klay & wiggins thru out long stretches this past season … & also avdija’s inconsistent shooting dates back to his play in multiple international leagues and tournaments leading up to the 2020 draft and was the big huge red flag about his game

also who knows if and how much kerr would’ve played avdija when he struggled so much on offense & even his defense his first 2 or so years was inconsistent too as he was too slow & not quick enough to guard the better athletics wings & also not big or strong enough to guard power forwards too in the NBA

we continue to forget that just because a player develops with another team that that probably does’t happen if that young players was drafted by the warriors who have a short leash with rookies & young players in general … moody & kuminga again be perfect examples when even when they have played well they’ve gotten inconsistent playing time for good chunks of their early NBA careers

avdija was allowed to play 25 minutes per game his first few NBA seasons on bad wizards teams who averaged 30 win seasons … he could make on court mistakes and learn & grow from them while still getting consistent playing time … something i doubt most 18 or 19 years old have been allowed to do with the warriors under kerr with this win now mentality the team, players, coaches, and even fan base have had

again it took kuminga going to the media to show his frustrations with his playing time even when he was playing great & could argue at times was the second best player on the warriors only being behind curry

doesnt make sense, he would fit very well but he is out priced for gs atm
