[Music] could LeBron James sign with the Philadelphia 76ers we’re talking about that on today’s 76ers now LBJ to Philly how does that sound to everybody well ESPN’s Brian windhorst who obviously has been very close to the king throughout his entire career going back to his high school days at St Vincent St Mary in the early 2000s said that that the 76ers serious play for LeBron James in Philadelphia a threat to sign him away from the Los Angeles Lakers first let’s give you an updated look at our May sub battle between us 76ers now and them the Miami Heat report we’re making some trades yeah but the Lakers wouldn’t have to cooperate the 76ers are a threat I don’t think they’re a serious threat but certainly in the NBA you never rule anything out there’s a couple of things that we know about how the Sixers are going to operate here and how darl mury is going to operate we know that he understands what’s in play and what’s at stake he’s going to be aggressive if LeBron James opts out of that contract and he becomes available which brings us to that question that I just queued up the question is will LeBron opt out I feel as though if the Lakers bring in JJ reck as their head coach they do the podcast together they’re very close LeBron is going to sign an extension with LA he has the entertainment industry popping out there for himself and he’d probably rather stay with the Lakers than uproot and go all the way across the country to Philadelphia but I do think that his best opportunity to win another NBA championship he has for right now trying to close in on the likes of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan is to go to the Sixers and join forces alongside Tyrese Maxi and Joel MB the Sixers are the only Contender with cop space here and it seems to be either the Lakers or the Sixers right now as the two serious players again consider the source here Brian wior he’s mentioning the Lakers he’s mentioning Philadelphia and if if you’re LeBron James you have to ask yourself that question which team gives you a better chance to win one more title maybe a couple of more titles and how seriously do you take winning at this point and at this stage of your career if your main goal is to bring home another Larry OB to really start the challenge The Narrative of who the greatest player of all time is maybe who the second best player of all time is I think LeBron James needs another championship because some people also look at that Lakers title as a Mickey Mouse title in the NBA bubble the Sixers here already have the star Talent more star Talent than the Los Angeles Lakers you have Anthony Davis but he like Joel embiid very brittle the Lakers do not have a Tyrese Maxi and in addition to having a maxi and an embiid you have the blank canvas to really shaped the team and put together a good roster that makes a lot of sense around LeBron around embiid around Maxi and get those complimentary pieces in place that further solidifies your depth and the rest of your starting five and then I think this is an under talked about standpoint here is that the Western Conference always a bloodbath and now look at what’s going on in the west you have some of these young superstars taking over the West look at do and Kyrie Irving great tandem in closing games two of the most gifted contested shot makers of all time that’s why they’re so good at the end of the game and then you have Anthony Edwards you have Nicole yic Steph Curry is still a threat so the West it’s competitive the Eastern Conference it’s wide open I think Boston is a little bit fraudulent the New York Knicks they’re beatable Milwaukee Bucks they’ve won one title other than that they’ve been a playoff disappointment not worried about Cleveland not worried about Orlando not worried about those other teams so Philadelphia with the acquisition of LeBron James Soares up the leaderboard I think in the East and they become one of the title contenders here so Chip LeBron to Philly I’d say the chances of this very very low but if Brian windhorse is saying there’s a possibility are you telling me there’s a chance are you tell there a chance baby yeah look chances are slim I’d say maybe 75 80 20 that he stays with the Lakers you know especially as you said if they bring in JJ reick his boy to coach that Squad but because the Sixers and I think this is the most important part of all of this is that no other team can really offer LeBron a Max the Sixers is the only team with the money yep to sign LeBron rather than having to trade for him which again the Lakers would have to accept a trade and be willing to to do a trade if LeBron would to opt in and then say I want to go somewhere else so the Sixers are in a good position we know my is going to be aggressive and I don’t want to hear LeBron’s old LeBron’s washed all this LeBron’s coming off a tremendous season for the Lakers yeah he shot 40% from three all year you know he’s not quite what he once was which was the best player in the league but he’s still top 10 in the NBA if you have LeBron James Joe Ellen and Tyrese Maxi and you build that team with the correct players around those three Shooters floor spacers guys that can defend play two ways you could easily contend with the likes of Boston in the East just comes down to getting it done and it comes down to is LeBron willing to leave La at this point his career look you’re not asking LeBron James to be a number one on a championship Contender you’re asking him to be a number three some nights be a number one other nights be a number two when Joel embiid is sitting out and don’t tell me that LeBron James is cooked he just made third uh all NBA third team and he scored 25.7 points per game this year with 8.3 assists 7.3 rebounds he shot 54% from the floor and 41% from three-point range the 41% from three-point range the best of his career the 54% from the field is third in his career he has been in the league since 2003 so he had a very efficient season this past year and I’m not seeing LeBron James becoming cooked overnight I still think there’s a good basketball player in there because he’s still playing at a very elite level and draft LeBron I mean not too long ago Brony was getting some Buzz to go early first round just because of the whole draft Bron you get LeBron thing yeah now if it came down to it first round I think it’d be a too a bit too rich for me even if it does guarantee LeBron and take him at 16 second round Sixers had the 41st pick in the second round you could convince me there if you’re definitely getting LeBron to draft Brony there but even then I I get Bron’s gotten a little bit more hype as a prospect and he performed well at the combine hit a bunch of threes and displayed his athleticism and he’s obviously very young but the fact that you know clutch Sports is out here declining workouts for all these teams and saying we want bronnie to go to specific teams where we think he can Thrive and they and Rich Paul doesn’t want bronnie to sign a two-way deal and play in the g-league it’s just it’s it’s a bit odd to me and I I don’t think it’s a situation I’d want the Sixers to get involved in that’s that’s not to say I wouldn’t want LeBron on the team because I think that’s a whole different scenario but just imagine having Lebron and bronny on the team bronnie I don’t think is good enough to play yet it just a whole scenario that I personally would want to avoid a lot of the conversations coming out of the NBA draft combine Rony James is not an NBA player if he is an NBA player a lot of teams are going to want him on a two-way where he’s going back and forth between the the G league and the NBA level I thought he should have gone back to college again he could have made a lot in nil he could have improved his draft stock if he gets selected in the first round I think that’s ridiculous he’s a smaller guard who’s been compared to a poor man’s Davon Mitchell out of Baylor who is a good Defender but because he lacks that size and the offensive creation and shot making skills aren’t really there what is his role at the NBA Lev so you’re basically wasting a draft spot when there’s a large pool of talented players now all over the world in the NBA draft just for the hope of signing LeBron James because the NBA draft is before NBA free agency now they lead right into one another you’d have to probably tamper to figure out if you can get LeBron right because then you’re going to draft this sun but it is a little bit of an odd scenario and a messy situation to be in might just want to avoid the drama altogether would you draft bronnie in the second round to sign LeBron James now in the second round I’m I think about that not trying to contradict myself but
