Imagine if we had a competent front office back in 2018 and moved up for Luka. Kings were right there at #2 and they didn’t want him.
We had a treasure trove of assets back then; #10 pick in the draft, multiple future first rounders and an assortment of solid young players, and obviously Simmons, who had just won ROY. Even though he was terrible against Boston, he was still easily a top 5 prospect at the time.
Man, if only they could understand how Bens’ approach to his career was not a recipe for actual development. Maybe they actually did, but then wishful thinking simply took over.
