[Baraheni] If Isaiah Collier falls to #19 I do not think the Raptors should hesitate. The shooting concerns are valid but high motor guard who can get downhill and finish. Think he has star upside and that would be a HUGE addition to this core.

    The Baraheni Jinx.

Now he’ll be out of the league within a year.

  2. A Point Guard who can’t shoot *or* defend… And their main skill in slashing and forcing his way to the basket is already occupied by a small forward and shooting guard on the team. I get the appeal of a guard built like a tank, but he doesn’t improve either of the ends this team is desperate to improve on (defense and 3pt shooting). He does *not* fit this team.

    EDIT:

If we’re getting a Point Guard, we want one reliable on the 3pt end (Jared McCain or Bub Carrington) and if they play nicely on defense (Devin Carter) then that’s also pretty good. Alternatively, we can pick up a wing with solid size who can operate well on the perimeter and defensively (Kyshawn George, Tristan Da Silva, Bobi Klintman, Pacome Dadiet but he’s more of a mystery bag prospect imo) or a younger more athletic center who blocks the shit out of shots, protects the rim well and also finishes well. (Yves Missi, maybe Ulrich Chomche with our SRP). Another note for center, *we don’t need a backup centre who can shoot 3s and make hockey passes right now,* we aren’t gonna find a reliable player of that archetype until next draft. All we need for a backup centre atm is someone who can slot into the same role we had Koloko playing. It really sucks what happened with Koloko and I hope he’s able to be cleared for getting his career back, but we can’t bank on just the possibility he’s cleared and decides to come back to us.

When was the last time Masai took a player that “fell” – OG maybe but it’s not common

I agree I think he’s a great fit here. The backup pg is an obvious need but he also provides the inverse skill set of what quickley gives you (great slasher struggles shooting, IQ the opposite). In some lineups they could even play together.

He has the athleticism and frame to survive on defense with an increased focus, and the shot isn’t completely broken.
