Hopes? That seems like an odd way to phrase that. He’s under contract. Why wouldn’t he just say “I’ll be back”? Yeah he could get fired but that would be the worst decision this franchise could ever make, and that’s saying something

Does this mean he’s only coming back if Lore owns the team? Because he could just pick up his option right now if he wanted, no?

Hopes? Damn, this guy is gone of Glen stays.

Perhaps a veiled comment about how much the ownership of this team will impact his decision. ARod and Lore are the ones that sold him on the idea of coming onboard with the expectation of new ownership. If you didn’t know who your boss was going to be and one at the very least has a poor history of ownership (ahem, Glen), then yeah you’d leave your options a bit open … especially when you’ll have no shortage of options.

This is just negotiation talk. Not worried until/unless he actually leaves

It’s already an open secret Connelly doesn’t want to stay if Glen retains ownership. He was hired via a push from Lore and Arod, with the knowledge ownership would fully transfer in 2024. Would you want to work for someone that didn’t hire you? If Lore and Arod win arbitration and offer Connelly a salary bump, there’s nothing to worry about.

That makes… all of us.
