after blowing a three nothing series lead the heat stopped the Celtics in Boston we fell I fa um man we let the we let the whole city down since the start of this NBA season only one outcome has equal success for the Boston Celtics raising an 18th Championship ban to the TD Garden Rafters it has been 16 long years since the Celtics reached the League’s Mountaintop claiming the 2008 TI F behind the big three Paul Pierce Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen the latter two arriving in Boston the prior summer in a pair of Blockbuster trains anything possible the Celtics hope this season will be a repeat of that formula after landing christas porzingis in a three- team trade back in June that sent out franchise icon Mark is smart what did the porzingis move do for the Celtics I think it makes them the title favorite and then L to holiday said packing by Boston’s Chief rival the Milwaukee Bucks just days earlier on the eve of training [Applause] camp elevates throws it down hard with the right hand three in the air got it the best team in the NBA is putting on a show that Austin then dominated the regular season putting up 64 victories the most since that 2018 and a historic Point differential only added to the excitement about the Celtics once Springtime rolled around probably the biggest year in Boston for the Celtics since that O8 if they don’t win a championship this year it would be a total gag job they got everything what followed then was a dominant run to the Eastern Conference playoffs dispatching the Miami Heat Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers with e losing just twice including going undefeated on the road the Celtics have finished the sweep and it’s on to the NBA finals for the 23rd time as a result the Celtics find themselves on the precipice of all they’ve worked for over the past several years after making it to at least the Eastern Conference Finals six times in eight seasons and now the League’s Championship round for a second time in three and with it comes a gigantic opportunity in Boston not only to raise that Championship Banner as a group but for so many of the Celtics individuals for Jason Tatum a title would give him a first one at a younger age than many of the games alltime greats including Michael Jordan LeBron James and Kevin Durant for both Tatum and jayen brown a title would etch and stone the fact that neither of their numbers will ever be worn by another Celtic for Al Horford and Jew holiday a first and second Championship respectively would put both on a collision course with the nth Hall of Fame and for Celtics coach Joe Missoula already the youngest coach to reach the NBA Finals since Bill Russell 55 years ago he would cmend his legacy in Boston at just 35 years old the only thing standing between the Celtics and all that success four more wins [Applause]
