Miami Heat DRAFTING Zach Edey In Latest ESPN Mock Draft + Harrison Ingram | Heat Draft Rumors

[Music] heat Mock Draft time ESPN’s Jonathan gavone released a new two round mock draft had all 58 picks the heat having two selections we’re going to break down two prospects that he had going to the 305 I am Nick rolloff this is the heat report by Chad Sports and you’re probably very intrigued by the title and thumbnail we’ll get into it but are you a real one that’s what I want to know because if you’re a real one that means your notifications are turned on never miss a video we’re putting out seven a week we go live at times as well so be subscribed turn on notifications make sure the Bell is clicked to all not just personalized because guess what I’ve got a list of people who have notifications turned on and who don’t I know Jay the fox and Monty 2K got it turned on but do you have it on that’s the question make sure you do oh Jesus round one pick 15 gavone has has taken Zach at the center from puril and uh I think ESPN hates me I do like some of you guys know this from our live shows and some of the other NBA draft content we put out as well I am just not a Zack Ed guy I don’t think he’s going to make it in the NBA and this is why I think ESPN hates me but I’ll hear him out what does gavone have to say about Zack Edy going to Miami he said that Ed’s positional fit alongside bam at a bio would be a topic of discussion no but his productivity physicality and intensity would surely be welcomed by the heat who have valued experience more than other teams at times Ed has slowly Incorporated a three-point shot don’t know about that one Jim into his offensive Arsenal his this past season and he has the type of defensive versatility don’t know about that one Jim that could be useful alongside another big man in small doses Ed’s offensive rebounding and interior scoring are skills that he don’t have much of potentially making him an attractive pick at number 15 no no and more no I just don’t think Zack Edy is worth being a first round pick really like at least in the entire thing and I don’t think he’s a good fit in Miami I get it the heat needs size I’m with you I’m with all of you cuz you guys always com in the comment section we need size valent chunis blah blah blah but I’m not sacrificing size or or at least our offensive fluidity and our spacing for size like I’m just not doing it and unless bam a bio proves to me he can be a 37 38% three-point shooter on at least four or five attempts a night then you can’t add a center that is going to clog up the paint when you’re on offense specifically and especially when Jimmy Butler is one of your leading scorers because all he wants to do is work 15 ft in inch and get to the basket you have him bam and potentially Ed sitting under at The Rim how are you ever going to finish and how are you going to have good looks at The Rim because there’s always going to be three Defenders there to me it makes absolutely no sense to Draft Zack Edy and even as a backup center in 10 to 15 minutes I have my reservations on the former two-time AP Player of the Year and I’ll showcase some of those and get into his stats and measurables but give me a vote down below do you want to Draft Zack Ed type y for yes type and for no couldn’t tell if you could tell but I am not bad drafting Zack Ed no matter what this dude is not a good basketball player maybe that is a little harsh to say but in terms of NBA it’s just not going to work like he got a lot of his buckets in the college level being able to just over physical his opponents and use the size but I just don’t think he’s going to be able to do that in the NBA and his athleticism laterally just isn’t good enough to defend in the NBA either now there there’s no debating and discrediting that the size that he will give you is just absolutely El lead I mean he’s the biggest Prospect in this class coming in at 73 and 3/4 with a 710 and 3/4 wingspan which by the way as much as I don’t like Zack heiti that’s flat out ridiculous and I think we can all agree that I think it’s the third largest wingspan of all time since they started measuring it at the combine behind Victor wanyama spacing on the other name but I’ve seen the stat before the standing reach being 972 all right I’ll give him credit it’s kind of crazy that he can basically touch a rim without lifting up a a toe um and he was good last year for Purdue man averaging 25 points like I said he’s racked up a ton of Awards in his Collegian career two-time AP Player of the Year nay Smith Player of the Year twice wooden award Player of the Year big 10 Player of the Year like he’s done it all and he’s a good rim protector but I just don’t think he can play like I know it’s going to be hard for me to try to explain why I think that when you’ve seen the measurements you’ve seen the stats but when they target him in pick and roles like is he going to be able to defend like Rudy gobear not the same type of size and he’s more athletic than Zach Eed and he was getting exposed in the postseason in pick and Rule coverage the Mavericks were targeting Rudy goar you think it wouldn’t be any different from Edy and then you might tell me you might tell me Well if we’re drafting Ed is the backup center to Bam only have to play 10 to 15 a game why the hell are you drafting a backup center and if that’s a ceiling F5 like I get it this team is trying to win now but why would you take a player that can’t grow in the NBA in terms of his role and productivity level at 15 it just doesn’t make a lot of sense and then another reason why I didn’t like this pick is because some the prospects that were still on the board in this mock draft Jared McCain went the pick after us to the 76ers you followed me on Twitter I tweeted it out the screenshot of ed5 Jared McCain 16 I’m being dead serious if the heat drafted Zack Ed over Jared McCain during the NBA draft on June 26 the first round I’d break something I seriously would I I would not be able to handle it I saw my guy Austin Chef try make the joke that it’ be precious Tyrese maxi part two and I mean Jared McCain is not going to be tyres Maxi but it would be that level of a mistake if you’re asking me there’s also trist to Silva and kle wear I like we who’s a center he’s 610 and change with a good Wings span he can shoot the three ball much better than Edie because I think he fits way better in the heat system I get there’s a question with his motor and he didn’t have the same production level as Edie but I like kalal wear way more then Tristan the Silva as well I’d be fine with him at 15 because he can be that Caleb Martin replacement as you’re going to lose him in free agency we’re going to get to the second round pick for Miami just after this but I had to make sure you know about prize picks because it is the best daily fantasy sports app out there and you can have a blast and in June I the NBA finals are here but guess what there’s always other action on prize picks even with the hoop season first deposit match up to $100 or click that link prix.com clns use code clns pick more pick less it’s that easy shout out to price piix for sponsoring today’s video all right let’s move over to the second round cuz the heat do have another pick and it is pick 43 and gavone had the heat drafting Harrison Ingram the forward from North Carolina I’d love if the Miami Heat drafted Harrison Ingram with the 43 overall pick because he showcases a lot of things that the heat staff and system will like he’s a willing and able three-point shooter he’s very physical he’s got great size to him and he just plays a winning brand of basketball after transferring from Stanford to North Carolina Ina he was arguably the second most impactful player on that Tar Heels team that went all the way to the Elite 8 and was a one seed in the NCAA tournament Harrison Ingram impacts winning and would be a great second round steal for Pat Riley and the Miami Heat I mentioned the measurements for Ingram 65 and a quarter so maybe not the tallest Wing is he did play kind of like a small ball 43 type of mold for the Tar Heels a year ago but the wingspan makes up for it it’s actually very similar build to Haywood heith for being honest here because Haywood’s only 6566 and he has a 7 foot wingspan and y’all know how much am I going to tell you I’m a for wingspan and this is as good as a plus wingspan as you’ll find for a 65 guy and he does have that bulk size to him I mean 65 to and a quarter with 233 lbs he’s built it’s not he’s fat he’s not he’s very strong he ain’t rolly he’s built with some muscle and he was able to do some nice things transferring from the Pack 12 to the ACC and the thing that impressed me the most is his ability to get on the glass but also space the floor because when you’re 65 like and you play that four spot you’re going to have to when you shot 38 and 12% from the Tar Heels a year ago he’s also pretty smart on the defensive end averaging one and a half steals a night as well not afraid to get on the glass he showcases and uses that long or long arms there to get rebounds that he should not be able to Harrison Ingram at pick 43 would be a interesting pick and I think he would be able to make an impact for Miami much quicker than you’d think like you think of Jamal Kane I think Harrison Ingram would be able to be much better than or EXC me Harrison Ingram would be much better than Jamal Kane we got more to talk about on Harrison Ingram by the way in just a second but would you draft Harrison Ingram type D for draft or type P for pass after showcasing some of his measurables and his statistics I’ll tell you one thing I like The Pick of Harrison Ingram much more than Zack Edy getting Ingram at pick 43 to me is good value it’s probably where he’ll go on June 27th in the second round like he’ll go early second round midc round probably before the 4550 range if you’re asking me and I just don’t think Zack Ed is a good value pick at 15 Ingram would be and I do actually think this heat front office would really enjoy and like Harrison Ingram because he does the little things because of his size because of his ability to impact winning at a good level when you transfer from Stanford to North Carolina and make the impact that he made right away in year one when you have an all American type player in RJ Davis leading the way that just tells you the type of teammate he is and the type of winning attitude that he has I’m a big fan of Harrison Ingram’s game and he’d be at top of my list in terms of day two round two Targets for the Miami Heat when they’re on the o00 at 43 that’s going to do it for this video enjoy the rest of your weekends folks we’ll have you covered on the latest surrounding the Miami Heat and who they could draft and the rumors surrounding the team before that big time week in late June so hit that sub button and we’re coming back with another video Tomorrow by the way breaking down kle wear as a prospect and who the Heat and if the heat could draft him so be on the lookout for that go Heat [Music]

ESPN released a NEW 2024 NBA mock draft, and on today’s Miami Heat Report, host Nic Rohloff reacts to the Heat’s two selections and breaks down both NBA Draft prospects. This NBA mock draft from ESPN featured Purdue center Zach Edey going to the Heat with the 15th pick, and North Carolina forward Harrison Ingram being drafted with the 43rd pick. The Miami Heat oyster needs to add more size to its frontcourt alongside Bam Adebayo, and Zach Edey is the largest draft prospect in this NBA Draft class! Edey stands 7’3.75” without shoes with a standing reach of 9’7” (both are the largest). Ingram is a projected day two pick in the NBA Draft out of North Carolina. 1. Are you doing analysis or your personal opinions and biases. I wasn't a big fan of this guy in college but started looking at actual basketball analysis of him.

Everything the critics have knocked him for in college, he's improving on right now.

My biggest concern was " he's too slow." But analysts say he's changing that. Nevertheless, being that big and carrying that much weight will have its limitations.

The heat needs height and someone who can dominate inside. If they draft him and put him through the heat development program. If he's in the game the first game of the season. As a heat lifer, I won't be mad at that.

    It's business, not personal.

  2. The Heat already don't have any spacing. Heat should try to get Donovan for Herro, Jaime and future first round picks. Maybe even try a 3 team trade Jarret Allen , caris to Pelicans, Caleb, Herro, Jaime, and picks to Cavs and Heat get Donovan Mitchell and Jonas. If not then we go get Dejounte Murray, Lauri Markkanen, or Malik Monk sign and trade for Herro and a future pick from Kings for Malik Monk, Caleb or Highsmith, and/or future 1st picks. Draft a big like Zach Edey or KEL'EL WARE and Hunter Sallis PG, Alex Karaban in the 2nd round. Zach Edey is NBA ready, great touch on offense, can pass out the double, and when you need an easy bucket. Sign Jonas Val or Nic Claxaton in free agency. I love this teams chance with the new roster after this move. If you trade Jimmy it has to be 5 first round draft pick and 2 young players.

Dejounte or Hunter Sallis Terry or Malik Monk

    Duncan Jaime

    Jimmy Niko

Bam Kevin Love or Alex Karaban

    Zach Edey Jonas Val

  4. I 1000000% agree with this take. Edey isn't a passing big, his scoring, while better than i thought, is not enough, and his athleticism is jokic esque.. i.e. barely there. I would love Edey as a pick in the second round but for the 15 pick… ehhhhh
