[King] Jayson Tatum said this trip to the Finals feels a lot different after going through that experience before in 2022. “You don’t always get a second chance so really just looking at it as a second chance.”

glad he said this. really can’t take it for granted that we managed to get back here. I’m sure the 2012 Thunder were confident that they’d be back after they lost to Miami in the Finals and look how that worked out

we’re fortunate that things broke our way this year in terms of health and whatnot – time to take advantage of the opportunity

That’s the right mentality. I think a lot of young teams assume they will get further along in playoffs next season and don’t give it all now, without realizing any “window” can close for any reason. Regardless of who’s in contract for how long, you don’t win championships without playing like there’s no tomorrow.

Crazy to think that we could’ve made the finals 3 years in a row.

THIS! Have to cherish those opportunities when you can. Windows are small. Especially in todays league

First time we weren’t ready for the big stage. This time not only is the team better, we have experienced the Finals before. Can’t wait!

Best way to sum it up is Devin Booker in the finals against Milwaukee going damn.

Bucks and Suns never made it back

  8. By the time they got to the finals in 2022 that team was worn down, you could see them lose steam in the 2nd half of game 4. They had a gauntlet of games in the playoffs and not putting opponents away and letting the round drag out ended up hurting them in the end. This team seems to me in a better place. They are rested, they realize the immensity of this opportunity, plus they don’t have to purely rely on the jays for offense.

  9. You could see the difference at the end of the ECF. In 2022 there was HUGE celebration, and it almost felt like relief and validation after years of saying that JT, JB, and Marcus couldn’t get there. This year there was celebration, but it felt a lot less final. More noticeable that there was still work to be done
