Tim Legler REACTS to Mavericks going to the NBA Finals: PERFECT basketball offensively | SC with SVP

yeah I thought um you talk about our leaders um Luca uh came out and and set the tone uh offensively and defensively I thought he was going to he let everybody know he was ready ready to play um and so uh I thought we followed his lead I thought again for a half uh we played at a high level and then in the third quarter I thought we continue to play there and we continue to keep our lead and I thought again uh Luca um was be he was able to be aggressive and then Kai joined the party and when those two are going um I thought again for them to uh come back after maybe a not a game four those twoed at a high level and and They carried us tonight but a great team effort um incredible to be at top of the Western Conference uh Minnesota is well coached a really good team um and we’re just happy to be able to represent the Weston conference in finals they also had another guy that had 36 points yeah a guy with finals experience a guy who Luca told me the other night I’m just glad he plays on our team Kyrie when Luca took that brief breather late first early second I I always get the minutes when it happened confused but I know I’m not confused that Kyrie did whatever he wanted the handles the shot making uh that what are we seeing in terms of his ability also to impact in in concert with Luka the their uh ability to now intertwine their games that’s the difference with the Dallas right that’s it I mean and it’s a perfect mesh and that was not the case last year it’s hard to in insert somebody next to Luca donit that plays that particular style it’s not the easiest thing in the world obviously the way their season ended last year is very disappointing a lot of people gave up on that road at off they needed to see some differences I think Kyrie Irving had a different approach mentally to this season and he did and he embraced it and you can just see their personal relationship has grown throughout the year there’s a lot of TR trust a lot of respect that Luca donic has for Kyrie Irving in that Talent level and right now the game is pretty easy for them because there’s no the Evan Flo’s perfect Scott there’s nobody overly differential anymore which I thought was the problem a little bit last year that’s interesting Kyrie’s going to join us here in in just a bit to to discuss all of it and just I mean you think you think of the journey and you think of what it requires I think what we all are allowed to grow into roles that maybe are different and maybe we we were one thing at one point but now we’re we’re just as happy to be something else like a 1A to the one or the one to the onea it doesn’t seem like it matters look we both get 36 and guess what we both get to eat and now we both get to go to the finals I think that’s we’re all allowed to grow and it’s we all ought to be patient I suppose we don’t do that great in this business Kyrie Irving has been a player that has been admired by everybody for his talent level his entire career I think there’s a whole another level to this now with Kyrie Irving and the admiration people have for him for how hard he has been competing defensively The Joy with which he is playing the way he has meshed with Luca which I said is not necessarily the easiest thing for a high volume scorer the way that Luca plays and yet Kyrie Irving has embraced all of it and the way that these two guys are playing particularly in this series it was literally perfect basketball offensively between two back court guys that can dominate you in different ways uh and I think it’s just been so fun for me to watch Kyrie Irving enjoying himself this much and playing this well because he can do things on a basketball court few others of his generation have been able to do and now it’s on full display in a winning environment next to another guy that’s an an equal superstar in this week where we where we were sitting here the other night talking about about Bill Walton and that word joy that he lived his life with there’s a joy to Kyrie playing this year that hasn’t been there and I look I look forward to asking him about that and he’s going to He he’ll join us here in a bit in the meanwhile uh we’re going to hear from Anthony Edwards in just a moment 36 36 that’s pretty good hey PJ Wason I had a dozen they’re the second pair of teammates to each have 30-point games in the same uh series three different games they join a pretty nice Duo Elgen Baylor and Jerry West who did so twice in the 1960s [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] is

  1. Celtics are the deeper team (not so much without Porzinģis) and this year's finals outcome is hard to predict. But one thing is certain: Jason Kidd is going to coach the s**t out of Joe Mazulla.

  2. I love to see the praise for Kyrie and Luka making it work because I think it probably feeds back into the relationship for them to hear the recognition. It can't be easy for two strangers with elite athlete egos to be obliged to get along, like. They've both shown a lot of character.

  3. it's so ironic that the two West teams that got bashed the most last year for the "worst trades of all time" etc. both have been in the WCF and looked amazing.

  4. I can't wait to see everyone pick Boston to win this series. Luka is the best player in the league and he is about to show it. Kai is the best leader in this league and he is about to show it. J Kidd is the best coach in the league and he is about to show it. Dallas' Defense is going to be the difference.

  5. Kudos to Tim Legler. He’s been hyping Mavs chances for months when majority in media just said nuggets suns or lakers.. someone that actually watches games and gives proper analysis.

  6. Dear NBA, please fire all reporters who put Jokic and SGA over Luka for MVP this season except for Bouchard who was correct in his assessment.

  7. Bobby Marks said the Mavs made the best moves at the deadline and Tim Legler said this was the best team Luka has ever been on after the deadline…those takes have aged well!

  8. What Jason Kidd has been able to do as a coach with Giannis, Luka and LeBron/AD in the bubble is unreal

  9. Maybe 3-4 years ago. He’s not the same player he used to be. I like Al. All I’m saying is Gafford and Lively are a problem.
