There is no chance the Pelicans trade Herb Jones for Nembhard. Herb is getting paid like $13 mil for the next three years. Insane value contract.
The Pelicans would have to think Nembhard’s potential is really high for them to do this trade.

These are some solid trades, I like the Vanderbilt option but why not trade Toppin for Herb Jones. Definitely could use a young wing defender.
Ler88
It would break my heart but yes. Herb is probably the best wing defender in the league.

If you’re saying no, you’re emotionally tied. Herb Jones is all defense, perfect 3&D guy alongside Hali, would probably fit perfectly. If it’s a straight up Nemb for Herb, 10000000% yes
Joe_Betz_
No. Herb Jones is a terrific defender who is limited offensively. There’s an argument he could become something like Derrick Jones Jr. I guess with Dallas, but…
Nembhard is under team control and is proving to be one of the best 2nd round picks the Pacers have had.

This is the kind of thing that would get posted in the Pelicans subreddit and all of the comments would be screaming, howling madness about how bullshit it is.
Yes. We should make that trade, every day of the week. It’s not even close to fair value for Herb.

I would not trade anything at all for Vanderbilt He wouldn’t crack the rotation
CohenCaveWaits
Can Herb be the best player on an Eastern Conference Finals team? Nembhard can. No way to this, Nembhard wasn’t a fluke. He has all kinds of skillls.
Lasvious
Yep I do it yesterday.

Herb Jones is better so yes

Better question because it might be more realistic: would you trade Nemby + stuff to the Pelicans for Trey Murphy III?
More realistic because Murphy is about to get a paid a near max/max level contract, and I don’t know if either the Pellies or Pacers are ready to commit to that level of contract given their current roster construction/team salary.

Andrew Nembhard is my favourite player in the entire NBA, but this deal would 100% make the Pacers better, so yes, I would. I would love it for New Orleans as well. Nembhard is a perfect lead guard for them.
bigdank8
Would love herb Jones but it would take nembhard and benn. At minimum

No way Pacers are trading Nembhard straight up for HJ. Anybody that says yes doesn’t watch pelicans games. He’s not a 3&D guy, but mostly just a D guy mainly good in causing disturbance in open court instead of being dominant defensively as a 1 on 1 defender in half court, like Jaden Mcdaniel is. On top of that he has zero playmaking ability. Easy no from the pacers in a straight up scenario.

yeah i would in a heartbeat and the Pels need a point guard, badly. i love Nembhard and he’s my favorite player but I would much prefer him be on team where he can start as point guard and be able to play to his highest level. i doubt this trade would happen, but i am not opposed to it.

this article is a mess, not sure any of these trades are anything close to reasonable

It would sting because I’m emotionally invested, but yes.
