Cuttino Mobley DESTROYS Minnesota Timberwolves LOW IQ & Basketball Analytics NERDS From MIT!!!

welcome back to NBA Cinema so this is the stuff I actually like to talk about as it pertains to the game of basketball Cino Moy had one of the dopest breakdowns of that game five between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks and one thing that I talked about one of my prior videos I think it was out the game two um where you want to kind of like make others make plays you want Daniel Gafford and them to catch the ball out by the three-point line you want to Blitz uh Luca when he passes half court well first of all you want to guard him full court make him turn his back a couple times to get it up the floor now you got like 16 15 seconds left on the clock then you want to blit them out top and force Gafford Force lavely as far as you can extend them out to have to make a play and not let them walk into things now it gets tricky you have Kyrie Irving you have PJ Washington some of those guys can reel off three or four threes in a row and then it make you think like Dad we got to switch up the game plan what you don’t want is Luca picking you apart getting into the teeth of the defense and making decisions uh finding guys for lobs dropping his floaters um Fade Away step backs all kinds of stuff you don’t want Kyrie getting into the paint ambidextrious finishing all everywhere and playing off of Luca Luca playing off of him flawlessly so you kind of saw some of that in game four where they weren’t dying on screens I remember Stephen Jackson said that about them dying on screens but um man Keno Moy has so much in this video I’m about to show you that we really need to pay attention to what this man is saying as far as basketball and the IQ of the game let’s check it out I’m I’m watching this game Dallas is upall right um they certainly are and you said it I mean they’re just a step ahead uh the first quarter it’s about the end I don’t know if it’s Minnesota lack of knowledge or lack lack of uh fundamentals or do you blame a of growing up like it’s like guys are skilled but they’re not smart and it it it it’s very troubling to me that Dallas is not doing nothing like special first of all you let Luca when I play you let Luca coming off screens you’re blitzing them make the centers make a play that’s not rocket science that’s one especially when he’s 25 30 feet from the basket every time he touch it let the others beat you but when you get in on offense the the the IQ is so low it it’s God damn yeah I I don’t understand it I swear to God I don’t want to say nothing bad but I’m just saying it’s like maybe it’s a I don’t know guys I don’t know again I can show you so much stuff but right here you got a you got a small on a seven-footer you got cat out there and you got Conley in the corner that’s what shot you take on a seven footer that boy Nas Reed can post up Luca and he can post up Kyrie I’m pretty sure if he get close to that basket but maybe I maybe my generation we just expose mismatches because I think that’s a mismatch I don’t know but set him for a three go ahead do it now everybody know LCA hot right watch this everybody know LCA hot move out the way what does Luca do give it to Kyrie with nias Reed on the wink yep get look at this look at this look at this everybody shrink and you get open shot if you start your third quarter like this if you start your third quarter like this boom so Carl Anthony towns has him coming off the screen Ant-Man is trying to close out on him if you don’t want to trap hard you might as well go fine call Anthony towns man Rudy you in no man’s land basically CU if you’re not going trap staying off on for him to come downhill on you makes no sense and McDaniels why wouldn’t you bump bump why wouldn’t you bump this guy you see him drifting why wouldn’t you bump out of bound I I lay up makes no sense to me makes no I swear they may just gave up I don’t know I it’s 7140 what I’m watching it could be more than that right now game over but look Nas goes right there he has to tell him to go to the Post watch this okay go to the Post they try to double you split and one look Kyrie arguing with him that’s what you do I want to kind of I want to kind of make this clear and I want people to like send this I’m not hating on players young players or whatever it is I just like to see good basketball so basketball is not about threes so all these weird ass analytical people from MIT or wherever they found that at if you shoot more threes you win it it two things could be true if we control the tempo and we’re posting up and finding mismatch mismatches they’re shooting a whole bunch of Threes don’t really matter because you won’t be in Rhythm you they won’t as a team won’t be in Rhythm so if you have mismatches you exploit them because the guards exploit The Bigs all day long so just just food for thought work on your post moves because you can create mismash guys legs will start to get tired shots will start to get short uh people will start to get in foul trouble now that changes the game you guys nowadays guys are playing checkers instead of Chess and that’s just my opinion that’s what I’m seeing it’s just what I’m seeing no way in hell somebody s feet tall should be out in three-point line of somebody 6’2 63 or 6’4 is switching out on them no way at all and maybe it’s me but I just I I just I don’t think they’re playing smart nowadays basketball I don’t I’m sorry he’s absolutely right this is a phenomenal breakdown and it’s often what I think when I’m watching the game of basketball I saw several times where not just Nas Reed but bigs throughout the playoffs cat uh you know just looking at this team they run straight to the wing instead of to the Post and it could be a situation where Kyrie or someone had to pick them up in transition you have to go get that easy too I know people and the analytics is saying that threes are better but no they’re they’re not they’re they’re just not all the time sometimes you have to go get that easy two and what they don’t tell you is that easy two turns into a easy three a lot of times because as you saw on that play with nas Reed the small has to take a foul when when they’re on the back of a player much bigger now you have these bigs trying to beat the smalls at the game that they play so what I’m basically saying is we saw how Nas Reed shot last night Kyrie had a bad shooting game the previous game in game four what I’m saying is those percent if you play like that and we’re expecting Nas Reed to out carry carry from the perimeter then the serious is all with already been lost if we’re expecting cat to shoot from distance better than Luca over the course of a series then we’ve already lost the Series you know because the spacing yeah it sounds good uh for spacing purposes to allow ant to attack but if you are you’ve gone cold from the three then you’re not helping his space and they just leaving you open as a big and honestly you know bit him in in game four cat got hot in game four but for the most part letting you shoot and converging and everyone getting around ant and contesting him in the paint that put them in a position where they were able to just kind of you know get through the series Without uh much of a care or worry you know so again you could get away with that if if cat and Aaron Gordon are getting the same three-point shots in the series cat could probably outshoot Aaron Gordon in the series as we saw Michael Porter Jr jayen McDaniels you know that that’s a good matchup matchup wise right so and those guys aren’t as automatic you know the guards playing against Jamal Murray cool Kyrie Irving is one of the most gifted offensive players we’ve ever seen um he can use both hands as dominant hands but also he has B flexibility agility and athleticism that is so underrated you know to go with but you see the way Kyrie gets by the big sometimes it is good defense on him but the way he can just kind of snake and contort his body on his first step past people to get to the rim that’s not normal you know it’s not normal I know people gloss over it just look like he blew by him um normally but he can knife between places that just average person can’t so what do you do to combat that you make him work on the Block you don’t shoot a three like Nas Reed was doing in his face when you’re cold and bailing him out but again this is analytics and how it’s ruining the game and the the players let me put it like this and I’m just going to say these words a good player for the Chicago Bulls this year was told by a previous coach not to take mid-range jump shots that player most improved this year I’ll just say that so the NBA and the coaches are a big part of this and I know this 1,00% there’s nobody that can convince me it’s not true because I got it you know directly from people in the know I’ll say that without putting in anybody names out but I got that Ando is absolutely right man their low IQ bit them um Dallas was exploiting mismatches Lively Gafford no threes cat Nas a bunch of Threes Rudy gobear just not talented offensively um yeah they they didn’t make it a pound of in game you should have been scoring twos while they were scoring threes you’ll catch back up in a long game if you’re putting game pressure on them but you know they they just wanted to to it’s a thing about the flashy bucket and not getting the bucket that makes sense in in today’s game um Mike Conley would get in the tee for the defense mix it up with some floaters and different things um but again man cat naasri probably going to be a decision made there um but they got to get get some tougher bigs and I’m actually happy that guys that impact the game around the rim are coming back we kind of saw how that affected ant-man’s finishing a little bit um with how a 90s big would challenge at The Rim you know what I’m saying and having a good Defender a good initial defender in Derek Jones and backline protectors like Daniel gaffer um Derek Lively at The Rim you know to contest your shot PJ Washington it’s a difference in the quality of three that’s being taken too that’s his job for the team so that’s the steady diet of shots he getting PJ Washington will take it to the cup A9 again he will mix it up but he doesn’t I wouldn’t say if PJ Washington took eight shots he didn’t fall him love with the three he took a wide open one playing off of another player or other players so that is not the same quality of three and he’s typically taking them from the corner or the wing so it’s not the same the quality of three these guys is taken as ridiculous and I don’t know man I was just passionate about this video because yes it’s hard for me to watch it sometimes based off of this low IQ stuff man but let me know what you think in the comments don’t forget to like like share and subscribe to next time peace

  1. Basically he was saying they are like a book smart person who lacks common sense that’s where iq comes in the play

  2. I been saying this. Just because you're more skilled doesn't mean you're better. The older players were better because they knew their job and the executed to the fullest and they had the fundamentals to build on.

  3. 3 is better than 2. But if it's a tough 3 you may as well go get an easy 2. Players today shoot the 3 that's ALWAYS available at any point in the game.

  4. As someone who never played organized basketball I love to hear these deeper concepts and analysis of what these guys are doing wrong (or right). I wonder how much of the runaway offense we see going on is just a lack of fundamentals that used to put pressure on the opponents.

  5. 7:18 I get that argument but alot of you don't get that it isn't just about 3s vs 2s and analytics, it's also about spacing and keeping the lane open.

  6. Thats on the coach not on the players when we wanna talk about Low Iq Joe in Boston he doesn’t have that problem that man is 30 something and knows ball like he’s 65 years old. He’s probably one of the smartest coaches in the league

  7. You are so on point brother ,but because they don't study the history or study there match up its sad and today they don't play smart it like the old days when black teams went to state a loss to the white teams with one or two blacks cause they played smarter, ( pick and roll, making mix matches ,using that square box on the backboard which our kids mainly don't know how to use or why it's up there, looking to see if you have an opponent back in transition when turn and peddle back to see the offense coming at you, learn how to box out ,learn to position yourself on what location a shots being attempted from, don't over play a man and leave a back door lay up,talking on the court to each other and seeing what your opponents trying to do before they attempt it,just so much l teach kids and young men ,that players just aren't mastering ( even study a players moves and watching opponents shoulders and belly button ,so many thing to out smart and out play your opponent

  8. This is why we got embarrassed in FIBA last summer playing dumb analytical ball. It’s a simple game and the euros are beating us just by being fundamentally sound compared to our AAU style basketball.

  9. All facts ! They let Luka and Kyrie off the hook on the defensive end.. you have to force them into actions and make them exert energy on the defensive side

  10. I agree with Mobley ! ANT-Man 🏀 IQ is the lowest I’ve ever seen in any player in history

  11. Thats why the NBA ratings are lower each yr. UFL & women’s basketball has more ratings than the nba!!! BANKRUPTCY IS COMING THATS WHY MJ SOLD THE TEAM

  12. this is one of the best takes. This comes back to coaching. Why is there no emphasis from the Coach to attack the block?

  13. NBA is Rigged just like all the other sports. It's about making the W/Athlete the star. Joker, luka,Catilin Clark.etc. Hand Writing is on the wall.

  14. I think you can run whatever you want for 43 minutes, when crunch times comes, the winner will be always the one with a better post game a mid range

  15. Most big men these days have no back to the basket game. Luka puts his back to the basket at half court completely calm. KAT, Naz… no post game

  16. I don't get these cats go 0-10 from 3 like Kat. Take yo big ass to the post smh. NBA is Donald Trump overly wanna be smart.

  17. Good analogy defending Luka. Problem is double Luka then Kyrie open. Double Kyrie then Luka open. If Kyrie wasn’t playing that defensive scheme works

  18. Yea, that's what happens when you follow a script. Just like Ant man passed up the final shot earlier in the series.
Bread & Circus keep the people drawn in, pure trash.

  19. Everybody talking about the coaches but Luka thrives in any of those adjustment y’all talking about. They won more games with people trying to blitz him

  20. This is the BEST analysis of the series

You and Cutino are absolutely correct. Minnesota’s coaching staff failed to teach Towns, Reid & Gobert how to score and operate in the paint. Chris Finch kept relying on Anthony Edwards to beat everybody off the dribble from the 3pt line.

  21. So after watching this video , what do you think Porzingis and Hartford going to do ? {Run to the wing}!

  22. The NBA is rigged for money and entertainment. Once you all accept that, you'll be better off. Still sad though.

  23. It ain’t promised that you get back that far. You gotta take advantage of the opportunity. The Timberwolves were the better team and would probably win the Chip this year.

  24. Either the games are rigged by the coaching are the coaching isn't to smart nowadays .. the players only play..
