Have to include GG for me. If it’s GG and Smart, I’m happy. I don’t think they give up 9 and GG, though. I’d take Jackson and a worse pick over 9.

As a Grizzlies fan (no I don’t come in peace) I’d love if we made a move to get Jarrett Allen. I thought this trade was pretty close to being fair, which means it is probably quite unfair from your perspective. What else would you want before considering it?
1. Additional picks? Memphis has all its future firsts. I suspect the grizzlies could offer a lightly protected first next year, or a lightly protected one in the distant future, but wouldn’t want to give up more than two firsts. They don’t really help the Cavs win now.
2. Vince Williams Jr? He’s a smart SF that has an impact across the court. Good defence. Good passer. Shoots the ball well. High BBall IQ.
3. Brandon Clarke? Tweener PF who rebounds well and has great touch inside. Questions about his health remain though he came back late last season and played well.
4. GG Jackson, high ceiling young SF, would be very hard to get the Grizzlies to move off him.

The Cavs are in a contention window… adding a rookie top-10 pick makes no sense.

Im… actually okay with this. There’s players at the #9 spot that I think could come in and produce immediately, and Marcus Smart would be a good pairing with either Donovan or Darius. He’d also be nice off the bench if we wind up losing Caris.

I can’t see how the Cavs would have interest in Smart. He is 30 with a very limited offensive game and defensively he is regressing significantly.
He is not a good 3 point shooter which the Cavs need from the other guard position.
