today we’re going to open up the floor and take your questions for a mailbag segment here on the show and we start off with this one from L what is up with Klay Thompson I understand that ultimately he will decide what is best for him and his family but any updates about him leaving the Golden State Warriors hash please don’t break up the trio for Klay Thompson the team that’s been rumored to be interested in him a lot the Orlando Magic and then in the NBA Playoffs that kind of came to the Forefront even more because in that seven game series with Cleveland France Vagner could not buy a bucket usually he’s their sniper and the magic as a team really struggled to hit the three and that’s a team that took a sizable leap from what they’ve been for the last several years into what they were this past year they had the young star and Palo B Caro a couple of other really good pieces and Klay Thompson makes so much sense going there one he fulfills the shooting need two championship pedigree to help move the needle for a really young team I still think that Klay Thompson can play at a really good level and I know that a lot of people are down on Clay after what he did in 2023 2024 but look at the numbers still 43% from the floor but we know that a lot of his shot attempts are going to be from Deep 38.5% from three-point range so a team like the magic they’re going to make a run at clay and if Klay wants to get one more bag he might have to go to team like that I’d also say uh keep an eye out on the Philadelphia 76ers they’re a team that has Tyrese Maxi Joel embiid they could use that shooter on the wing I’m also not ruling out Klay Thompson going back to the Warriors what did Steve ker say after they were ousted and their season ended against the kings in the playin tournament we need Klay Thompson back of course at this point a lot of speculation about where he could go if he might come back stay tuned we’ll give you the latest right here on the show Daniel my hot take is that the Warriors don’t have the Personnel to run Steve Ker’s offense interesting free flowing offense leads to more turnovers meaning you have to run the offense we need a good athletic transition defensive team and right now the Warriors aren’t built for that our previous Championship runs have all had top five defenses they were all really good defenses they were all really good offenses As We Know with the offensive Firepower that Steph Curry Klay Thompson can bring you and you think back to when the warriors were winning championships and let’s talk about the Dynasty before they won during the 2021 2022 season they’ve always had flexible bigs some positional versatility historically they’ve been smaller teams they’ve always prioritized ball movement sometimes they do operate at that fast pace usually they’ve been good rebounding teams and despite that lack of size they’ve been good defensive teams and I think that as the Warriors have been at their worst the last two years it’s because that lack of size has also led to them being bad defensively and the combination of that is not good and you’re totally right when you’re wheeling and dealing and you’re trying to operate at a frenetic pace and you’re about ball movement and you turn the basketball over it’s just going to exacerbate a lot of your weaknesses as a basketball team do they not have the Personnel look I think that kaminga could take another Elite I think that obviously Steph Curry is still an elite player Brandon po jsky was recognized as a very good defensive guard but you KN you do need to get better you need to get bigger and you need to get more depth on this team there’s no doubt about that what’s missing what would Golden State need to win the West in 2024 2 it’s a lot but you bring Warriors because at this point I think that we are all just frustrated you win the championship a couple of years ago and you’re thinking man is this the next wave of that Golden State Warriors Dynasty last year disappointing now that seven game series against the Kings it was incredible Steph Curry in that game seven how the warriors were able to navigate that Series and win it that was awesome but us as fans we all know that we’re smart right Warriors need more size Warriors need more size second round Series against the Lakers what happened they got dusted because they couldn’t really keep up with the Lakers size LeBron James Anthony Davis and the physicality that the Lakers had and then the Warriors also couldn’t make shots and Klay Thompson went cold again in the playoffs and then this year they just never found their stride they couldn’t find that Rhythm no consistency bad on defense sloppy play and the warriors were acting as though we’ll get it together we’ll get it together we’ll get it together they never did so I think that Golden State should be and will be aggressive this off season as far as some of the targets that they’re going to go after you have to figure out what to do with Klay Thompson first and then you kind of go from there because if you don’t bring back clay you’re going to have a pretty big makeover both with your organization and your roster so Kade stay tuned we’ll put out a video this upcoming week of the top free agent targets to really further answer that question K bans if Jonathan kaminga gets traded we will regret it forever he is a star in the making in two years it’ll be a mistake that’s why I’ve said do not trade Jonathan kaminga he’s been slow to develop but he’s also a young basketball player as far as how long he’s been playing but also in his NBA life last year you saw him take that leap really good two-way player potential if he gets that three-point shot down he’s a really really good athlete I love his size and Steve ker finally showing trust in him he played really well down the stretch and against the kings in that playing Tournament game one of the only players to step up Kate Jackson again my hot take is simple and I really do hate saying this but why are kaminga fans so fixated on risking Steph’s historic Legacy to go all in on a 22-year-old and Jonathan Kingz potential I hope someone addresses it because I’m not watching my idol be disrespected by potential star Steph needs help right now so okay I love you brother but we could disagree here and I get where you’re coming from because at some point kaminga has to go from having potential to being a guy and being a dude last year though did we see some of those flashes and then this upcoming year can you see him with a bigger role maybe overtaking Andrew Wiggins if Andrew wiin gets dealt becoming that guy who can give you 20 points per game on 50 plus per shooting what if he improves that three-point Mark to 35% now Kade I see where you’re coming from if you think Steph Curry Jonathan kaminga if the Warriors make no other moves then that is an issue for sure you’re going to have to bring in some other really good players if not another Superstar but kaminga can be a part of that but I also will say that if kaminga can land you Jimmy Butler a player of that ilk I’d move off of them San Fran 20158 who would be the perfect co-star next to Steph Curry honestly this is so funny but I think LeBron James would be an awesome co-star next to Steph at this point of his career both are so smart both are such great leaders LeBron is still really good on defensive end he could play on ball off ball if Steph wants to play off ball LeBron is a great distributor with great passing vision and is just an offensive artist on that side of the floor the size component is really intriguing and I think that because they have such a good relationship their onc Court chemistry would be awesome we’ve seen it work with Kevin Durant do you make a trade for Kevin Durant going back to Kate’s question Kevin Durant and step that could work I know they’re both older players but could they elevate one another and kind of switch off being that number one guy from night to night pick a player Kevin Durant Jimmy Butler Paul George LeBron James couple of star options there with who you think could be a good co-star next
