Lakers CONTROVERSIAL TRADE for Dejounte Murray/Zach Lavine? | Lavine’s Value + Murray Best Option?

Lakers CONTROVERSIAL TRADE for Dejounte Murray/Zach Lavine? | Lavine’s Value + Murray Best Option?

[Music] welcome back everyone going all the way back to the trade deadline there have been two names that have been repeatedly linked to the Lakers with those two being deante Murray and Zack LaVine and well I don’t think they’ll be going away anytime soon now the Zack LaVine trade rumors have definitely died down but they might be coming back with his trade value having fallen off a cliff the Chicago Bulls might have to attach a trade asset to Simply get rid of him which might be a good opportunity for the right team now would that team be the Lakers well that’ll depend on who you ask but at the very least I do think that’s worth taking a look into and then you already know the Lakers are keeping tabs on jonte Murray as well but with that in mind here should they really make either of these two a priority and if they do what would it or what should it take for them to pull the trigger we’ll talk about exactly that during today’s video but before we get too far into it if you looking to put your NBA knowledge to the test then don’t forget to check out prize picks it’s pretty much like playing daily fantasy and they have a no-brainer promotion going on for the NBA Finals you can pick Jason Tatum to have more or less than 0.5 points in game one and no I’m not joking about that either I don’t know about you guys but I think I’ll have to go with the more on that one and if you want to follow along with me I’m combining that pick with Dereck White having more than 11.5 points and then Derrik Lively having more than 8.5 rebounds and assists but if you looking to make your own picks then be sure to check out priz picks and don’t forget to use code JSM to get a bonus in your first deposit but without further Ado let’s dive right into it and we’ll Begin by talking about a trade for Zack leine a pretty wild turn of events that they’ve had with him he went from having the best season of his career a couple of years ago which pretty much forced the Bulls to give him a Max contract to now coming out the worst season of his career as a primary option and having little to no trade value at all and simply put the relationship between them has fallen apart they no longer appear willing to find any sort of happy medium leine wants to move on and so do they even though they likely coming at the cost of them losing him for nothing which is never what you want to happen with a guy that you just gave a Max Level contract to and yet that’s where they are at with Zack the beine which like I mentioned before might be a good opportunity for the right team though I’m not entirely sure that team would be the purple and gold I mean I think he would fit with their team with that being particularly true for their offense but there’s definitely B of risk here too for one it’ll take quite a bit to match his contract through a trade LaVine will be collecting over 43 million next season and well that roughly the same amount compared to anthy Davis I for one would not be willing to give up anything valuable to get him meaning there is really only one situation where I would maybe think about trading for him with that being the situation preventing D’Angelo Russell from walking for nothing he will be a free agent after all and that will mean him looking for the biggest long-term contract they can find and well the Chicago Bulls might be willing to give him one like that if it man getting rid of Zack the bean and then with them not caring about being hardc as they have literally only banned the luxury tax one time in the past two decades now they will be perfectly fine with that happening and no I’m not joking about that either their owner Jerry Rin storp is outright refused to enter the luxury tax and there’s something to appreciate Genie bus for for those of you that think she is a quote unquote cheap owner but getting back to the point here they will be more than willing to make a sign in trade which if you are not aware automatically hard caps the team that receives a player through a sign a trade but not the team that trades the player away meaning Chicago will become hard capped here but the Lakers would not and if DLo Zin could talk them into giving him a 25 plus million do Pere kind of contract that would go a long way in matching the contract of sack Laine at that point the only other big contract the Lakers St to throw in might be Gabe Vincent who I would consider to be the least valuable contract on their team right now and if they could find a way to trade for Zack LaVine while at the same time keeping every one of Austin Reeves ruy haimura and V build at that point I would be interested and it technically would be a possibility through a sign and trade with DLo with the combination of a new contract vilo although trading gab Vin and Jaylen Hood Chino they would have enough salary to pull it off and if Chicago really does want to get rid of Zack LaVine they might even be willing to include a second round draft pick or two as well which could help the Lakers make another trade down the road or if they get really desperate they might even be willing to include Caruso who I think every Laker fan would like to see come back now that obviously would mean the Lakers having to give up more here as well but I think it might be worth it for the right price and especially if Chicago is truly desperate to get rid of Zack lean again I’m not the biggest fan of Zack LaVine but if you could get him for literally nothing valuable at that point you got to listen now I’m not sure if Chicago will be this desperate to get rid of him but then again it might be their only offer I for one think they’ll be better off keeping him and trying to recuperate his trade value but hey I’m not a part of their front office and who knows maybe they would be willing to make a trade like this one which I think the Lakers should look into if it meant preventing losing DLo for nothing as that would be the primary goal here for them and even beyond all that you already know that LeBron and Anthony Davis would like to play with lean too not only are they all represented by Rich Paul and clutch but they’re literally seen together not that long ago with all three of them being presentent for bronny James pro day and with that in mind they would at the very least have a good foundation to build off of though again I would only be willing to make a trade for leine if it meant trading DLo through a signed trade although the B has been willing to make a complete desperation kind of move moving on here though we’ll finish up by talking about trade for to jante Murray who unlike Zack LaVine does in fact have trade value and would therefore require giving up legitimate trade assets to get which is where the controversial part comes in going back to the trade deadline the Lakers were not willing to give up a trade hall for him Atlanta reportedly wanted Austin Reeves all two first round draft picks to give up to jante Murray and while that was something the Lakers were not willing to do and even with about four months having gone by now I’m not sure anything would be different here Atlanta would likely still want Austin Reeves and the Lakers would likely not be willing to give him up although I definitely would be keeping tabs onto jonay Murray regardless if they would in fact be entering a full rebuild at that point you would think they’ll be willing to view this stade a bit differently which might mean them prioritizing draft picks here more than role players and if that would be the case then they might be willing to take an offer centered around ruy haimura or maybe D’Angelo Russell if he would opt into his contract but the point here is that it would not require them to give up either one of Austin reevs or even Jared vanderbild and I for one would be willing to make that kind of trade ideally it would be with D’Angelo Russell but even trading Ry haimura will be more than worth it for Deonte Murray now they would have to throw gab vinon here as well to make the salary work but I don’t think that’ll be a big problem I mean if they’re getting a back cour player like Deonte Murray then there would not be a whole lot of room for gab Winston anyways and at that point I would move Aon Reeves coming off the bench where he would fill the six-man rooll that they planning to have gate Vincent f again I think it would probably be worth it even if they would have to give up an unprotected first round draft pick although with either a protected one or multiple second round draft picks I still think it would be an upgrade for them after all Deonte Murray is coming off the best year of his career averaging over 22 points per game shooting a new career high from three and being an efficient and even primary playmaker after Trey young got hurt and then while he was not a great defender he has shown the ability to be one before now it might seem like they would be giving up a lot here but it’s really not that much compared to what they would have to give up a legitimate star player like Trey young or Donovan Mitchell neither of which would be perfect fits and that would likely have to include giving up all three of Austin reevs ruy haimura Jared vanderbild along with multiple first round draft picks and with that in mind I would much rather go the route of a borderline allar like Deonte Murray or even take the risk on trade for Zack line if it’s one like we talked about before that to me would be a way to upgrade their team while at the same time maintaining their depth although not completely diminishing their trade asset pool too therefore giving them the ability to make another trade in the future if needed but with all of that being said what do you guys think how do you feel about a trade involving Jon Murray or Zack LaVine and would you be willing to give up more or less than what I give up comment your thoughts down below that will do it for this video though big thank you to those of you took the time to watch until the end of this video and until the end of all my videos in general I really hope The Lakers are looking to make a trade this offseason, but should they look in the direction of a Zach Lavine or Dejounte Murray? We’ll talk about that in this video.

  1. Bring back the Bald Eagle!!! Trade LaVine and Carushow for D’Lo and Hachimura for them. Add Hood-Schifino and Lewis to gap fill.

  2. To put a stop to all trades that should never and more importantly can't ever happen. Here is the Lakers real situation as far as their salary goes and what they're actually allowed to do with it.

The Lakers are over the 1st Apron, there are 10 Teams in the NBA they cannot trade with because of this (because they are prevented from taking in more money in a trade, it has to be equal or less value financially) because they are also in the 1st Apron. If the Lakers use their MLE they are hard capped and can only use vets min, sign draft picks and re-sign players that's contracts are up this season and played for their team, among other restrictions. But here's the list.

The 10 NBA Teams that CANNOT bring in Money in a Trade

    Lakers

    Suns

    Timberwolves

    Bucks

    Celtics

    Nuggets

    Heat

    Golden State

    Grizzlies

    Clippers

The Lakers are Over the 1st Apron this means

    What the Lakers can use:

    Taxpayer MLE $5.3M

    – Hardcapped at 2nd Apron if MLE is used.

Team becomes hardcapped at First Apron by or can't do:

    – Using more than a Tax MLE out of NTMLE

    – Using BAE

    – Acquiring a Player via S&T

    – Signing a Buyout Player that made more than NTMLE on previous contract

    – Using more than 100% in salary matching in a trade

    – Using a TPE that was created in a prior season

Now if the Lakers use their Taxpayer MLE they get Hard-capped at the 2nd Apron. What does that mean?? It means this.

    – No signing exceptions

Team becomes hard-capped at Second Apron by or can't use/do:

    – Using Tax MLE

    – Aggregating two or more player salaries in a trade

    – Sending out cash in a trade

    – Acquiring a player by using a TPE that was used in a previous sign-and-trade

    Can only:

    – Re-sign own free agents

    – Sign draft picks

    – Sign players to minimum contracts

    – Make trades where one player's salary is sent out and equal or less salary comes back (can do a 1-for-2 or more trade)

Take this all into account when you talk about trade scenarios or potential possibilities. The Lakers are in a position different than 2/3rds of the league because of their cap situation.

  3. my trading views are diferent we need to go after a big, getting Austin out along with rui and hood for caruso and murray and go after a center athletic and defensive minded we good for next year. just imagined having vando and caruso with AD bron and dlo. defense needs to be a priority rui and austin got cooked by denver btw i don´t mind keeping gabe he is a good back up and his trade value is not great but i would trade him for nick richards and seth curry from the hornets, also alex len is a free agent lakers should go after him and javale, jaxson has 0 iq and wood would be good to keep

  4. Zach Levine wants to play along side Lebron which is the crazy part….why we wasting time on pressing the button n make the trade

  5. Need to flip Austin Reaves into an actual good player; preferably a two way starter!!!! If ATL is crazy enough to give LA DeJaunte Murray for Austin Reaves you do it yet I don’t believe it!!!

As Austin Reaves held one of the worst team plus/minus in the entire NBA last season!!

He definitely didn’t contribute much to winning and only had one 30 point game the entire season!!!

  6. if Lakers trades for Lavine huge contract, they def need to ask Lebron to take less money

  7. Murray fasho 2 way guard n he younger Datz wat we need dey was going at AR in da playoffs on offense Cuzz Dey know he a weak link n trade any of these players: dlow prince rui jhs max jaxson wood throw any later darft picks for laters years none from these year n get Dennis cam Johnson draft a center n bronny but keep ar great 6th man like Tyler hero n also not giving up Jared or AR

  8. I’m all for brining a guy like Caruso back who plays his role and does the dirty work but why Lavine ? Clarkson ? All these guys don’t give us enough to even contend for a title .. why not focus on doing smaller moves and addressing smaller changes but 2-3 of them opposed to 1 bigger splash with guys who really don’t push us over even adding a Donovan Mitchell is cool but doesn’t guarantee we are even a final 4 team in the west ! More so focus on maybe giving Chicago Rui and 17th pick for Caruso .. Try lastly to use Gabe and Dlo for Schroder and Dorian Finney Smith ..sign Steven Adams now we have a lineup of Schroder Caruso Lebron AD and Steven Adams bench Reeves Max Christie Prince Finney smith and Vanderbilt

  9. both trades dont work , the lakers need to send more money out then they receive …. look into the new taxes

  10. Rui and Gabe + picks for Mikal Bridges

I dont want my team to pay a player 43 mil just to sit on the bench

  11. See those Dlo highlights you put up? See those passes? That’s why I still want him on the team. Put Mikal, Bron, Vando, and AD on the same floor they’ll be great

  12. As I understand the current cba the Lakers have to take less money back than the Bulls, meaning you would have to see sign and trade DLO and include Rui.

  13. Doubt the Hawks will agree to the Gabe and Rui trade. I would love that deal though. If they sign CP3 and draft Yves Missi and Bronny. Imagine what CP3 can do with AD, Hayes and Missi.

    Murray / Reaves / Vando / LBJ / AD
    DVD / Christie / Prince / Wood / Hayes
    CP3 / JHS / Bronny / Lewis / Yves Missi

Not Bad. Not good enough at the front court. I really want Johnathan Issac and Lauri. The above scenario is an easier one.

  14. Are you sure your hard cap info is right, I have always believed any team that aquires a player in a sign abd trade gets hard capped. ie,, if you are the team with player A's bird rights and you trade him to another team but aquire player B both teams. would be hard capped
