Utah Jazz are Rumored to Trade the Number 10 pick in the draft for “WIN NOW” talent.

so let’s go ahead and pivot on over to the Utah Jazz shall we oh [Music] yeah there’s a ton of reports all over social media David lock he put it on his podcast and the report is that the Utah Jazz are potentially looking to make a trade for a star player in exchange for their 10th pick as well as their other first round picks in those reports it pretty much states how Ryan Smith would like to add talent to this roster and Danny a is pretty much aggressively watching the trade market to try to get the Jazz back something for some of these picks to obviously get the Jazz indenture sooner with with trade rumors such as Trey young being available to trade Brandon Ingram Deonte Murray Zack LaVine would you rather have one of these guys or would you rather keep forward with the pick I’d rather the pick none of those guys move the needle for the Utah Jazz I I don’t understand this we’ve been wanting all off season for the Jazz just to make their plan clear we hate this whole you know make some offseason moves where they added John Collins last year they resigned uh JC they extended his contract out tht got his contract everything was looking good Keon George had a baller summer league the Jazz were looking good they looked like they were going to be a team that was going to compete for a playing position yeah we predicted him to make the playoffs at the beginning of the Season we did we did make sure you check out the video and laugh at us yeah it’s great I just we now know what the plan is and I have no clue what they’re thinking this doesn’t make any sense to me why are you pushing the chips in the middle now like who could you possibly get with all those players you mentioned where this team even become comes remotely competitive in the Western Conference even David lock said on his podcast which is locked on Jazz by the way uh you can see it on YouTube we’ll put a link to his channel somewhere here if you’re listening on the podcast it’s available wherever you get your podcast even he said that he didn’t expect the Jazz to push for wins until after next season right even D yeah 2027 is when he thought that the Jazz would start actually pushing to compete and I just and I kind that’s kind of my plan I wanted them to tank last year wanted them to tank this year and I wanted them to tank again this next upcoming year yeah that’s how proper rebuilds done you gather the draft picks cuz right now you have OKC being the top seed in the west and still have more draft Capital than you have which is absolutely crazy but it’s because they’ve done it the right way yeah they they they were okay with being the worst team in the league for a couple of seasons and stockpiling assets and making trades to move players bringing in guys I mean you know it’s it’s kind of widely looked at like the Gordon Hayward trade mid-season wasn’t a great move for Oklahoma City but I mean realistically they they continue to add depth to that roster throughout the season right like they saw they were in a prime position to win and they kept adding talent to make sure they could keep winning yeah I agree nobody out there on the trade market right now that’s going to make this team a competitor there’s nobody in this draft this year that they’re going to be able to add that’s going to be able to contribute right away is going to make this team a competitive team in the Western Conference totally agree who are you gonna get Giannis you make a trade for Giannis you throw in all your draft picks all your draft Capital get Giannis and and get Murray and call it good and see what happens I just I think your best bet is to probably get like a Deonte Murray a a big guard that can play alongside keante he adds some shooting he adds some scoring he’s a solid defensive player um you can keep Walker Kessler Lori Markin on the floor you still have John Collins if you need to but is that team a contender no it’s not no it’s not I I think that’s the probably the best with with the players that I just listed I think that’s probably the best roster you could put together you know I don’t think they make it much p a play in though yeah I mean this is this is definitely bad news because we know that we’re not going to have enough to make a run deep into the playoffs we know that’s just not going to happen right we’d rather just be bad really bad and have a shot at Cooper flag next year yeah there’s a lot of these predictions that are coming out for next year already right yeah and surprised the Jazz are third from the bottom in the west and again same thing the Spurs are doing it right man they got a Transcendent player that’s the Unicorn that’s going to carry them you know it doesn’t even matter if they compete or in the bottom 10 of the lottery I don’t think three players in this draft is going to net you any Star yeah I mean there’s some good players but I mean I guess my preference would be I would rather the Jazz take one of the you know dton net out of Tennessee or MH one of these guys put them on the floor let them play all 82 get that experience lose as many games as we need to keep the rebuild moving forward yeah nothing would make me happier as a jazz fan because I watched a lot of Jazz basketball this year yeah and it was painful to watch most of it yeah you know nothing would make me happier than watch this team push their chips in the middle and try to compete but there’s nothing out there that’s going to make this team team good enough to compete to where you’re not basically just completely ruining the whole point of doing a rebuild in the first place yeah unless there’s a trade out there that Danny a knows about that is completely not public right like if it wasn’t then he wouldn’t be talking about it in press conferences when we talk about going big game hunting it wouldn’t he’s like oh yeah well Ryan Smith wants to be competitive now we want to start stacking wins now I don’t know we’re just not doing a rebuild ride and we’re spoiled as Utah fans because we haven’t had to go through a prolonged rebuild experiment but what we’re doing here is just doing the right thing the wrong way it’s probably the best way to put it I don’t know what do you think nope I totally agree I totally agree I think the Jazz just need to as as a jazz fan me personally I think you feel the same way we want to see the Jazz either win or go all in to lose let’s not be stuck in the middle the good news is the draft is just about a month away and we will know soon enough my friend June 26th we let them know what you think folks let us know in the comments down below what you think about the Jazz recent comments and the recent reports of them rumoring to be shopping their number 10 over all pick and some of their draft Capital to trade them away for a star level player let us know if we’re way off base on this are you aware of a trade that you think the Jazz can make where it actually could be worth it we want to hear it love to hear from you guys let us know on that for sure once again everybody thank you for tuning in to this episode my name is Darren that is AJ and this has been the DNA Sports recap till next time [Music]

  1. Tricky for sure. If like they said, their mission is to achieve a championship, then I think it is absolutely clear to either tank this next season and go for the one pick in the 2025 draft and try for Cooper Flagg (or someone else) or you have to begin going all in this off-season on acquiring assets… It wouldn't make much sense to stay in the middle.

  2. Great disscussion but i trust ainge he build boston and hes going to do the same for the Jazz. IF he does make a trade it will be the right move.
