Is there a chance he’s just French Champagnie? Sure. I would bet on not. I would prefer castle and Knecht tho

Pistons’ secret agent putting on work trying to make him fall to 5

Out of curiosity, do you know if a lot of these models take into consideration level of competition? While his overall counting stats and production like you said, aren’t at the level of some past European standouts (or even guys like topic this year) I still think it’s worth taking into consideration that the French league is not the easiest place to be a a teenager tasked with defending the opponent’s best offensive players and running around desperately trying to get looks from three in a league with a pretty solid reputation for being spacing, deprived, and physical.
My thoughts with Zach are pretty similar to what you broke down. If you’re drafting him with the idea that he’s a guaranteed high-level starter, that his safety is guaranteed as a prospect. You’re in for a bad time
There’s plenty of reasons to doubt his overall trajectory as a player and where he could be in 5 years
Thqt said the biggest reason why I do find him The safest prospect is even if he busts, even if his shooting doesn’t develop or even takes a slight step back, his defense is pretty much more or less what it is now for the rest of his career, which seems doubtful given his age, and the rest of his game continues to be a nothing burger
And if all that happens him busting would still involve him being a 6’10 fluid, multi-positional defender who’s a good enough shooter to not get played off the floor
That player is still going to find his way onto a top nine rotation somewhere in the league. It’s just going to happen in my opinion. There’s definitely a scenario where he ends up somewhere between Julian champenny And cam Johnson. And if that’s the type of player you get with a top five pick. Yeah I think that would be fair to call him a bust
But in the draft filled with guys who have a bust scenario that involves them literally being out of the league or being unplayable on a team with winning aspirations. If things go poorly, I still think his level of safety is a very real thing
I definitely agree with you. That trading up for him is probably a risk not worth taking
I like him. But at the end of the day you sit back and you wait to see what Is there at 4 If he’s there? He’s a no-brainer pic. If he’s not You take one of Castle/ topic/ shepherd If you want to guard, and one of Holland/matas/Castle If you want a wing (And yeah I put Castle on there twice on purpose)

It’s a weak draft. You pick a guy who fits and hope he turns out to be at least a good role player. Someone in the top 15 or so will become a star and will make everyone who passed on him look dumb in hindsight.

Probably doesn’t matter to us. Looking very likely now he’ll be gone at 4.

I haven’t like Risacher at all with a top pick since I started watching him.

There aren’t any safe picks in this draft though.
