New York Knicks Mock Draft By ESPN | NY Knicks Draft Rumors

welcome into New York Knicks Now by chat sports I’m your host Marshall Green appreciate everybody for stopping by and I hope everybody had a good weekend as did I I got to go home and hang out with the fam but we’re back to it and we’re breaking down a two- round mock draft from ESPN as the New York Knicks own the 24th 25th and 38th pick in the draft this is the first year that the NBA will actually be splitting the draft up and having it on two separate days round one will be on June 26th and round two will be on June 27th and if you want us to go live here on New York Nicks Now by chat sports for both rounds we got to get to a th000 likes on today’s video that’s what the CEO of chat sports told me said Marsh we want you on the main coverage this year on chat sports breaking down the draft I said I want to hang out with the real ones so help me do that like this video if you want us to go live here on Nicks now [Music] there’s been a lot of talk on what the New York Knicks are going to do in the NBA draft are they going to make their picks will they package their picks together to move up into the NBA draft will they trade those picks for a proven star and if I had to make any sort of guess or prediction on what I think is going to happen the New York Knicks are not going to select three rookies this year yes they have three picks but I believe that there will be some sort of move whether that’s trading out of this draft for next year’s draft picks or packaging and moving up any way it happens I just don’t see the Knicks making three picks but they own them right now so let’s break down this mock draft from ESPN and with the first pick that they have number 24 in round one the Nick select the big man out of Baylor EES Mei and this is a very interesting Pro uh Prospect we’ll break him down and let’s just go right to what ESPN had to say about Mei quote the Knicks are understandably looking into trade scenarios involving their two picks in the 20s as they work to prolong their current competitive window Mei is in play all over the first round for team searching for depth at center with his tremendous physical profile at 6’1 and 223 lbs making him an interesting long-term project as a vertical spacing big man it’s going to take him some time to contribute but it could be a solution for the Knicks as insurance with Isaiah hartenstein headed into NBA free agency and I actually like the fact that the New York Knicks are I guess rumored to be in the search for a big man as we know hartenstein is a free agent the Knicks can only offer him four years and $72 million and Mitchell Robinson had an injury riddled season so adding a big man that possesses the traits that Mei does at almost 6’11 229 lbs with a 72 wingspan at just 19.4 years old I think makes a lot of sense if I had to say the type of player he is he’s got a little bit of Mitchell Robinson in him I also see some Clint capella and then I also see some Jaylen durren where he is just the most athletic player on the court not an offensively skilled big when it comes to shooting the basketball but he is a strong presence in the paint more so face up not really a back to the basket game extremely athletic go this guy can jump out of the gym he is a lob threat at all times and maybe could be a Mitchell Robinson replacement the ringer does an awesome job of breaking down these prospects and here are some pros to evees Mei quote he is built to thrive in any defensive scheme with a strong frame vertical pop and long arms he offers rim rim protection whether he’s dropping in the pick and roll or sliding over as a help Defender he’s also alert and quick making him a threat to disrupt on the perimeter he can rack up deflections and steals or switch screens to defend multiple positions he has the hands in coordination to catch tough passes absorb and finish he also has the athleticism to fly up for lobs he’s an advanced screener for his age to and he always rolls hard he’s a Relentless rebounding posting a Relentless rebounder posting a prolific offensive rebounding percentage for a potential first round prospect on defense he consistently boxes out despite having the inherent athleticism to Sky over defenders if that is not a Tom Tibido big man through and through I don’t know what is you talk about the rebounding ability his ability to also be a versatile defender on that side of the Court he can switch on to guards in a pick and rooll and he excels in drop coverage and we know Tom Tibido is the king of drop coverage the ringer says he have he has shades of Jaylen Duren and they pretty much say he’s a high flyer who can punish the rim on offense and protect the paint on defense they call him a lob threat has great shop bling ability rebounding and he’s a strong Hustler these are some negatives though to EES me’s game we always know there’s pros and cons to prospects here are the cons he’s learning the rule of verticality uh learning the rule of verticality excuse me is the next step in his development he will need to tone down his fouling in the NBA he bites at pump fakes and in general is too eager to go for blocks around the Rim hackable free throw shooter who also lacks touch away from the hoop not much of a passer he needs to do a better job of seeking kickout opportunities after offensive boards rather than forcing it back up he isn’t asked to do much playmaking on the perimeter for a reason questionable conditioning he plays just a hair over 20 minutes per game he’ll need to prove his Full Throttle style of play can translate with a more significant workload and you’re always going to see that with players going from college to the NBA they got to get in that NBA shape instead of a 30 or 40 Game season you’re expected to play 82 and then maybe another 16 plus in the playoffs talked about how he played just over a hair uh just over over a hair of 20 minutes per game he actually played almost 23 minutes per game a night and he gave you 10.7 points per game 5.6 rebounds a block and a half we talk about the athletic ability that he has and really just the skill set to be a high flyer on offense you also can sky for blocks I think it’s a perfect pick for the New York Knicks and the ringer they have compared him to Jaylen Durant as well just that big bodied athletic center I don’t think he nearly has the touch that Duren has not saying he has a lot of touch either but we’ve seen him finish around the basket uh at a higher rate than I would expect EES to be able to do early on in his career but you get a high flying shot blocking Rim protecting rebounder offensively and defensively to the Knicks at the center position as you may lose hartenstein in free agency or you may trade Mitchell Robinson we’ll break down pick 25 and pick 38 in the draft coming up in a second but if you’re looking for the best Nicks offseason coverage subscribe to the channel today we put out free informative entertaining updates every day on the Knicks so if that’s what you’re looking for go right now and hit that big red sub button and join us as we break down everything Nicks this summer all righty with the next pick that the Knicks had which is right after pick 24 they have pick 24 25 and 38 they select the Big East guard Tyler kwick at a Marquette and this was a very interesting pick for me I think there’s a lot to like about KCK as a prospect and I think that is someone that the Knicks could really benefit from as they do need to add a point guard that can run the show when Jaylen Brunson sits down this what ESPN set on the fit between KCK and potentially the Knicks quote kic who is ranked number 29 in ESPN’s top 100 has drawn serious looks from teams that are selecting higher than this in the first round he has experience playmaking Savvy and intense competitiveness that could provide a pathway into backup point guard minutes early in his pro career he’s likely not going to offer a ton defensively where he’s limited because of his size and athletic ability but he’s also not going to take plays off or want for effort that mentality will likely be attractive to the Knicks and coach Tom Tibido if they opt to keep one or both of these picks and I think Leon Rose has learned at this point you got to get tips players if don’t they’re simply not going to play and we talked about Mei being a tips guy Tyler KCK is also a Tom Tibido guy and it was an extremely colorful career for KCK it’s a guy that was the 22 23 Big East player of the year he was all Big East first team that season uh all Big East first team selection unanimous then he came back this year and he was named a finalist for the Bob Koozie award named biggie player of the week two different times he was a unanimous all Big E first team selection he has had a very very great college career and after winning the Big E Player of the Year in 2022 he upped his game a little bit from 12.9 points per game to 15.3 7.7 assists that is extremely high for a college guard he can be the guy that generates offense and gets the ball to his Playmakers in good spots where they could be successful the question is is he an NBA player can he Translate with the limited ability on the defensive end we’re going to break that down in a second but first I got to give a huge shout out to that promo code C LNS all that information will be clickable down in the comments and description of today’s video a little bit more in- depth on kic he’s 6’1 197 lbs not the most athletic guy and he’s Limited in his size as he’s shorter than 6’2 and he has a wing span less than 63 and he’s already 23 years old he was a four-year college player got started at George Mason Mason excuse me spent those last three years at Marquette where he really put his name on the map and I I really like the player when it comes to kind of that old school point guard but I wonder if his scoring will be able to translate and with the limited size will he just be a guy that teams hunt out switches every single time down the Flor in the playoffs this is kind of a Scouting Report from the ringer on kic they say he’s got shades of Jaylen Brunson in his game I’m be honest I don’t see it whatsoever outside of the fact that he’s a lefty undersized point guard from the Big East I don’t see any Jaylen Brunson in kix’s game I do see some gor tragic who they also compare him to I’m sure people will also compare him to TJ McConnell for obvious reasons but I don’t see him as that type of player I see him more of like a super discounted version and then like sent to a factory and then discounted again like rayan Rondo he wants to pass the ball he wants to get his guys in open spots he’s a four generally could control the pace of a game but don’t look for him to score all too much despite the fact that he’s averag over 15 17 points the last two years here are some pluses when it comes to kik’s game from the ringer says he’s a high field point guard who can play quickly slowly and at every speed in between both out on the break and in the half court he uses his dribble to create angles for perfectly timed passes to Cutter and Shooters he loves attacking the basket with his lightning quick first step and burst though he’s a below the rim finisher he’s incredibly crafty in the paint using layups high off the glass and floaters his threats to drive and pass mean to Defenders often give him space to shoot and he’s proved he can make them pay by taking pullup threes when he has room to launch he’s a knockdown Lefty three point shooter off the catch and an important trait if he’s going to thrive alongside other ball handlers smart Defender who tends to be in the right spot off the ball and has good technique for fighting over screens on the ball he has quick hands and a strong understanding of where to be on the floor he’s an intense leader he gets fired up for himself and for his teammates clut shot maker whoes coach will be able to trust right away and the Knicks they need a true backup point guard and when you talk about a true point guard that is exactly what kak is at this point we’ve seen the New York Knicks offense really go into a pause when Jaylen Brunson has to sit on the bench and he’s not going to replicate the offensive production and putting the ball in the basket that Brunson does but if you could just put another guy out there that control the pace handle the rock get the ball to other scores in positions to be successful that’s all the Knicks really needed backup point guard in kic he possesses a lot of those capabilities some negatives about his game this what the ringer writes quote he should work on speeding up his release off the dribble so that he’s more of a threat even when contested he also doesn’t use a mid-range jumper but working that into his repertoire would raise his ceiling small point guards will always be targeted by opponents so no matter how hard he works on that end he’s going to be put through countless actions and I do worry about his defense lack of size lack of athletic ability but I don’t doubt the IQ and when you have find people on defense that are willing to work hard and they think a play ahead and they see what’s going to happen before it happens he’s never going to be an all-nba guy he’s never going to be a stopper but can he just be adequate at that level if he does I do see a long backup point guard career in his future and no Prospect at pick number 25 is second evees Mei doesn’t have much on the offensive end not really in the best shape or something people think about and for KCK it is what it is not the most athletic player but that hasn’t stopped him from having s success at every stop of his career I would love to add Tyler KCK in this draft a Tom Tibido player with pick 38 ESPN has the niick selecting Pome d8 I practiced that name a thousand times before Today’s Show I still don’t know if I’m saying it right but that’s my best effort on that this right here though this is a purchase of lottery ticket you are hoping that you hit on a player and in three four maybe even five years is someone that could be in your rotation here was the full blowup of the ringer draft profile on Pome and uh I’ll just read this as we go he’s a skilled teenage Frenchman who displays raw go-to scoring upside they say that he’s got a pull-up threat off the bounce and he’s an off ball mover I wouldn’t watch some tape on him for his age at just 18 years old he’s extremely skilled on the offensive end I don’t know how great the competition level was in the videos I watched so I’m not going to say he’s going to come over and be an immediate scoring threat but he’s a skilled shooter off the dribble he’s comfortable pulling up from mid-range whether it’s stopping on a dime or stepping back if he extended his range he could become a major scoring machine good shooting potential off the catch he isn’t yet a knockdown guy but has smooth form and soft touch on free throws and layups decisive attacker off the dribble with a good first step and the burst to turn the corner he’s capable of finishing comfortably using either hand with touchy with touch l layups or finishing with power when he has room to take off he displays good vision for finding his teammates his IQ shows when moving without the ball he has a feel for getting himself open using relocations around the perimeter and cuts to the rim he’ll pounce on the mistakes made by Defenders long armed wing with a strong wide frame and the upside to defend multiples positions as he matures physically he’s 6’8 210 lb has a 6’8 Wings span so not really going to be an elite defensive prospect chot just 35.8% from three last year some minuses A little sloppy with the ball he makes inaccurate passes telegraphs the ball to his teammates and lacks awareness when Defenders are lurking nearby as he handles so kind of a draft in stash maybe doesn’t come over right away or maybe he does but if you select Pome d8 um maybe you’re going to get a guy down the line that can give you8 10 12 14 points a game in the prime of his career this is what your mock draft is looking like though according the ESPN if you do use all three picks Eve Mei the big man out of Baylor the four General and Tyler k k Marquette and the Frenchman Pome di8 in the first in at the beginning of the first round that’s a priority pick got the eighth pick in the second round need to find a player that contribute whether it’s now or later I like the potential of d8 grade this mock draft for me though in the comment section get out your red pen and let me know what you think again I do not think the Knicks will take three players but if they do and then come out with this crop I want to hear from you what would be your grade of this mock draft for for me I would give it a B I think you get two players that could instantly be in your rotation rotation in evees Mei and Co and then maybe you hit on Pome d8 down the line but if I’m going into this draft and I’m thinking what do the Knicks need potentially another big to be Isaiah hartstein or Mitchell Robinson replacement and you need to guard Off the Bench that control the pace of play and be a four General you got both those players in round one and maybe you got a little bit of a lottery ticket in round two make sure you are follow me on social media I’m on Twitter um on Instagram hit me up over there at marshall greenore [Music]

New York Knicks Mock Draft by ESPN is the focus of today’s show. New York Knicks draft rumors center on Yves Missi, who ESPN has the Knicks drafting with the with the #24 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. lThe Baylor center, originally from Belgium, was solid for the Bears during the 2023-24 season, averaging 10.7 points per game, 5.6 rebounds, 0.4 assists, and shot 61.4 percent from the field. Drafting Missi would give Tom Thibodeau another center option alongside current Knicks center Isaiah Hartenstein. Do you think the Knicks should draft Yves Missi? The Knicks also selected Big East legend Tyler Kolek with their second 1st round pick. The Knicks need another floor general to run the show when Jalen Brunson is on the bench. 2. We need Tristan Da Silva he is the most pro ready don't need to worry too much about ceiling but his floor is ready to play now

  3. "Bobi Klintman, 6'10 SF/PF, this guy is a beast to get at pick 24 or 25 in this draft. Another great player is Terrence Shannon Jr., 6'7 SG. The Knicks need players at the small forward position, or we'll go through the same thing every season, losing because we don't have tall players on the team for the small forward or power forward position."

  4. those that "say "…have Missi ahead of Edey at ranked center player position but I believe two time NCAA NPotY is a better fit for the Knicks

  5. Tyler Kolek would be my pick !! The IQ and passing vision is exactly what we need off the bench… he’s got a high ceiling

  6. Knicks should pick Edey if available. He's NBA ready, eats up space and can move bodies around. He can rebound and has a soft touch when shooting. Tolek would be great at back up point, he has above average court vision, court awareness and IQ.

  7. If Edey is available when the NYKs are ready to pick (if they keep their picks) he is a massive presence , Missi sounds like Sims 2.0.
