Reacting To Bleacher Report’s Dream Trade Target For The Detroit Pistons

hey guys what is going on Anthony here with pistons stock hope you guys are having a great day so far um if you guys want to go check out yesterday’s podcast I had James Edwards at third on and we talked about uh front office changes uh the possibility of money Williams getting fired I did clip that today earlier this morning like at 8 8 in the morning before I did head to work uh if you guys want to check that out definitely do really good podcast a lot of information in that but in today’s video what we’re going to be doing is reacting to the dream trade targets for every NBA team we’re going to focus on the Detroit Pistons side in this video because this is a Detroit Pistons YouTube channel it’s called Pistons talk for God forbid um we’re going to be reacting to who Bleacher Report had as a dream Target for the Detroit Pistons so let’s get straight into it you guys so the dream Target for your Detroit Pistons is going to be Carl Anthony towns from the min soda Timberwolves that’s a big name that’s a big fish I would love Carl Anthony towns in a Detroit Pistons uniform I really would I think he fits a lot he fixes a lot of spacing issues that the Pistons currently have at that forward Center position um but we’re going to see what Bleacher Report has to say about a possibility of this maybe happening you never really know so let’s get into it so this is bleach report’s explanation we’re going to get into why they think this could be a possibility for your Pistons so it says it may seem strange for the Minnesota timber wolves to part with Carl Anthony towns after he helped them to a Western Conference Finals however his massive contract and the wolf’s cap situation moving forward May force them to see what deals are out there and I I just want to stop real quick that is 100% correct we’re going to get into the Minnesota Timberwolves cap space situation after we’re done reading this because they have like no Financial flexibility they don’t have any draft Capital like their situation is really bad from a cap flexibility standpoint but they did just make the Western Conference Finals but let’s get back into the article sounds as the beginning of a 4-year 2221 million supermax extension this is a big deal for a Minnesota team that will now have three players earning 42 million or more next season for a piston team with most of its roster on rookie deals and not a single player earning more than 15 million towns deal is fine putting up 21.8 points 8.3 rebounds three assists and shooting 41.6% from three this season towns would make a huge impact on a Pistons team hungry for a return to the playoffs a core of towns Cunningham Jade Navy and Jaylen durren would be set up to win for years to come Detroit could put together a competitive package or players in draft picks while using its cap space to give the Wolves a lot of financial breathing room so that is bleach reports take on if the wolves do want to move on from cat they want some cap flexibility um there are deals out there that the Pistons could offer them to kind of relieve them of being in that second apron because I I think they are in the second apron um they they can give them a little bit of financial flexibility that way it’s kind of interesting they didn’t include Isaiah Stewart in that trade so I’m assuming that Isaiah Stewart would be in a trade package for cat so um we’re going to go over on fans spall after we look at the Minnesota timberwol uh cap sheet maybe we’ll do some mock trades and uh see what I can cook up and I knowing me like I’m probably going to overvalue cat and just like make a really bad trade and I can’t wait for you guys to react to it I really can’t but uh let’s go over to spot Trek and kind of look at uh the Minnesota Timberwolves uh cap space situation so we’re over on spot track looking at the Minnesota Timberwolves uh cap space situation and holy smokes it is worse than I thought did not think it was as is bad um as Bleacher Report was saying but uh yeah pretty bad look at the total cap accolations $273 million that ranks first in the NBA that’s not something you want to be first in I guarantee you that if you’re not winning the NBA Championship that’s not a category you want to be first in cap space holy CRA negative 132 million 30th in the NBA they already hit the first apron with the new BBA negative 17.3 million and they’re in the second apron as well at negative 6.4 wow that’s that’s crazy man that’s absolutely crazy but this video is about cat so as you guys can see 49.3 million it’s estimated he’s on a elite cap hit of 35% I think that’s the maximum allowance uh for a guy like him cuz he signed a 4year 221 million dollar contract so the Pistons would have him under contract for the next four seasons but yeah man Minnesota’s cap spaces is Dreadful holy crap but let’s go head over to fpo and see what kind of Trades uh we could come up with all right so we’re going to try to see if we can get some Carl Anthony towns trades to get accepted over on fans spell right now um I think the first trade what we’re going to do is we’re going to try a trade with the number five overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft for a trade for cat um so let’s see what I can uh do and I know there’s going to be some people saying like hey man like you can’t trade the pick technically the Pistons can trade the pick where their stipulations on it is the Pistons couldn’t trade this year’s pick until they knew where it was going to be because of the protections on it like this year it was top 18 protected but they got five so they get to keep the pick right so the Pistons can technically trade this pick on draft night so this would have to be a draft night type of trade because I know there’s going to be some people out there saying like you can’t trade the pick like what are you doing technically you can it’s just there’s a lot of like parameters around it where um reading like what the Pistons can and can’t do uh with their picks so as I’m looking at the Pistons players you have a cap hold on wisman for 30 million yeah there’s no way the Pistons are GNA like resign WIS likey James but I don’t think they’re going to resign you you have EV Foria and a team option for1 19 million that could be valuable just for this trade alone because cat it almost 50 million um interesting let’s try and trade for to the Timberwolves let’s try and trade stew which nasra and stew are so similar uh to the tempol like I said this is just a fun video you guys you can roast me in the comments if you want I really don’t care um and I’m going to try this first trade without including Kar Jer Ivy um I’m kind of looking at their roster maybe they would want to quitting Grimes never know so we’ll try that to the Tero wol so they’d be getting the fifth overall pick Whit Grimes Stewart and Evan forier in situation we pick up for’s uh player option for almost 20 million and we’re trading cat to the Pistons so let’s see if we can get this trade to uh go through let’s see and it is a success um consecutive drafts of 2024 and 2025 would be missing a first round pick the pick for 2024 may be traded away on draft day after the team officially makes their selection exactly what I was telling you guys that is called the steppan rule um if you guys don’t know who uh steppan is he was a Cavs uh GM front office executive and he was trading his first round picks like every year so they had to make a rule um for teams to not trade their pick every year but um this trade works and obviously I know the possibility and like on a scale of this actually happening is very very low because the Wolves just made the Western Conference Finals but you kind of look at where they’re at financially they’re going to have to make some moves but this first trade was just to see um if we could get it to go through we did for8 do Grimes in a first what I’m going to do in the next trade is include one of Kade Cunningham Ivy assar and the fifth pick see if we can get another trade to go through uh so we have two different variations fun little video for you guys today so I’m going to try a trade with one of the core four like I mentioned whether that’s Cade Ivy Duren orar so I’m probably just going to do this on the Fly I don’t know who I’m thinking of trading um this is just completely random off the top of my head uh and you guys get to struggle you get to see me struggle to try to do math in my head so that’s probably really entertaining so cat for sure going to the Pistons we’re going to trade our first um let’s give them I don’t know give them a second two why not trade for you just because of his team option and his $19 million contract trade stew so get that to work uh we’re going to keep Grimes in the situation he’s going to stay a piston in this trade and cor for so Kate Cunningham I’m absolutely not trading to the enops and I think a lot of you guys are like yeah we’re not trading Kate like screw that assar Thompson now this is where it gets interesting I think assar has value but as I look at the Timberwolves roster uh Kyle Anderson is going to be an unrestricted free agent and they just gave Jade McDaniels a long-term contract at 22 million over the last 5 years I I think it’s 22 million per year over the next five years I could be wrong because I don’t have his contract pull up in front of me but you guys get what I’m saying I don’t think they would want AAR not to say that he’s not a valuable player he is I just don’t think in this situation they would need Nar Thompson now Jade Navy on the other hand is interesting given their point guard situation they only have Mike connley under contract and connley is 36 years old Jordan mcclin is going to be a UFA uh Monte Morris is going to be a UFA uh so Jaden Ivy is a player maybe a throw in there we’ll come back to Ivy um Duren I think he’s only on a $4 and. half million do deal over the next two years and you look who their centers are it’s Ry go bear and then you also have Naz re too right and in this situation you’re trading Ste so you’re probably not going to trade them two centers and you’re going to land on Ivy now that’s where I’m at you’re going to land an ivy you give them a player that can play shooting guard and play point guard you could possibly have a Jaden Ivy and Anthony Edwards back court together so we’re going to see if we can get this trade to go through again it would be Jade Navy Isaiah Stewart Ean forier in the 2024 first round pick from the pist in exchange for cat so let’s see if this trade is possible and it is it is it’s a negative three wins for the Timberwolves um and a plus three wins for the Pistons on their their LeBron thing that they have um so like I said got two trades something fun um like I said it’s summer right now you guys there’s nothing going on in terms of you know the Detroit Pistons I thought this could be just a fun little video for you guys to watch react to roast me in the comments saying I’m delusional um I honestly don’t think a trade for cat um is in the Pistons future like Bleacher Report said it’s a dream scenario it would be great if it would uh but I think the Wolves would have a lot of suitors for Carl Anthony towns and others on their roster if you you look at the Pistons cap cap space and like the players on the roster we really don’t have anyone that’s on like a really long-term deal like Isaiah Stewart contract extension goes into effect this summer four years 15 million a year like that’s that’s not a lot of money it’s just not for a fringe starter to a role player like it to me I think it’s a really good deal for stu um you have for’s Team option if you want to use it in a trade I doubt the timber
