Lakers DREAM Trade Target to Create New TWIN TOWER Lineup w/Anthony Davis? | (ft. Lauri Markkanen)

[Music] welcome back everyone if one thing has become clear it would have to be the Lakers being very open to making a trade this summer potentially even for a star player now I’m not saying that one is guaranteed to happen but they’re definitely open to doing it if they could find the right player for the right price and well that is where everything might get complicated I mean they could get a guy like Zak Bean for a good price like we talked about dur my last video but then again he might not be the right player for their team and especially not with that contract of his but then on the other hand they might be able to make an acceptable offer for a star player like Donovan Mitchell but would giving up literally every trade asset they have be the right price in my opinion probably not and that is where the problem lies here however I do not believe it will stop them from trying and one borderline if not legitimate star player that we have not talked about yet is current member of the Utah Jazz La marinin a 7ft forward Center hybrid and one that not only many Lakers fans but NBA fans in general like to have on their favorite team and well he might be the quote unquote dream Target for them according to heavy.com with them claiming the Lakers would in fact get involved in a trade for him if made available which he very well could be in the near future and with that in mind we are going to talk about the likelihood of them being able to pull off a trade for him what it would take to get him and then how he would fit on their team and specifically with LeBron and Anthony Davis but before we get too far into it quick AP ology to all of you that got bot spammed in our Discord earlier today we got that cleared up and we are good to go now so if you left feel free to come back and you will not be bot spammed again but no worries if you don’t or if you’re new around here feel free to check it out as well link will be in the video description down below if you’re interested but with that out of the way let’s get back to our video topic and like I mentioned before lowy marketing could very well be on the Lakers radar and I think we can all agree that he is somebody that they should be interested in do I mean we talking about s footer that is perfect for the modern NBA or at least if we’re talking about offense the guy is an efficient high volume three-point shooter can score at all three levels is a really good rebounder and then can play both on the ball and off the ball as well again literally perfect for the modern NBA and with how difficult it can be to have a too big lineup in the modern NBA this St to be one of the very few that would probably be guaranteed to work with Anthony Davis and L marinin obviously being the two that I’m referring to here and even with lry marinin not being a good Defender I think it would still work between them Anthony Davis can cover up a whole lot of mess around the rim after all and not only that but then they could switch on defense to accommodate the better matchup in reality the much bigger problem here would be moving LeBron back to small forward simply put that is not the role that you want him to fill all year long anymore that will be putting a big defensive burden on a damn near 40-year-old at this point which he simply cannot do anymore don’t get me wrong LeBron still can and will take on that match up during late game moments but that would quickly Tire him out if he had to do it all game long at this point LeBron is a power forward on defense or simply the guy that you want defending the corner three-point shooter that does not move around very much not defending the quick small forward that does move around a lot now they might be able to mitigate that issue by including a guy like Jared Vanderbilt in their lineup but even then it might be difficult because again Lowry Marin is not a good Defender either and between him and Lebron in the same lineup that’ll be having two non premature Defenders which is a very difficult thing to make work in the modern NBA and although I think he’ll be a problem I don’t think he’ll be a big enough one to avoid making this kind of trade I truly believe that the pros would outweigh the cons here lry Marin is simply that good on offense and they’ like the perfect fit around LeBron and Anthony Davis on offense too sure they might be a bit underwhelming on defense but again I think they can mitigate that issue by building a defensive-minded team around them now definitely easier said than done but it’s not a deal breaker for me personally and thankfully it’s not like L Marin is no right liability on defense he’s simply a bit below average but with that in mind what would it take for them to get him and well I don’t think anybody knows for sure but it does hope that he has only one year remaining on his current contract meaning the Utah Jazz are under a lot of pressure here if Lowry marinin does not want to be with their team long term then they’ll be forced to trade him to avoid losing him for nothing which many believe could be a possibility after all the Utah chz are not really looking too hot right now they’ve now had back toback years being a bottom 5 SE in the west and I cannot imagine that Markin wants to go through that again with him now turning 27 he is entering the prime of his career and you don’t want to spend that Prime playing for a rebuilding team and let’s say they would not be able to come to an agreement on new contract what kind of offer could a team like the Lakers make for him and well it would actually not be as difficult as he might think again we have no idea what Utah might demand for him but purely in regard to making the money work they would only have to match an $18 million salary here not a $43 million one like they would have to aack the Bean and with that in mind they could either trade de Russell if you would opt into his current contract primarily a salary filler or they could instead make an offer built around ruy haimura or Austin Reeves if that is what Utah would prefer but to make it simple we’ll use the contract of Ru haimura depending on if the Lakers will be over the hard cap or not which we don’t know yet by the way they could either offer ruy haimura straight up with draft picks or they could include a guy like Jaylen H Chino with him and then for the draft picks I think they would have to offer two of them at the very least I mean if Mark and in were under contract a bit longer then yeah they would without a doubt have to offer all three but again that’s simply not the case here with him only being under contract for one final year there is a bit of risk here for whatever team they’ll trade for him I would like to think that he would resign with their team but I guess you never know and that is something they can mention during trade negotiations help lower the price which might allow them to only have to offer two first s draft picks here rather than all three and I don’t know about you guys but that would be a risk that I’d be willing to take I’m fairly confident about their ability to resign him and being able to to get a player of his caliber for only two first on draft picks regardless of if they would have to be protected or not would be a tremendous opportunity at that point they would still have one tradeable first on draft pick left which would be very valuable to them in the future you never know when you might need to make another move and if they would instead go the route of trading all three of their first one draft picks that might be even more dangerous than trading for a guy in a short-term contract like markkanen simply put there is never not a risk when making a trade even if the fit would seem perfect or the players under track long term you can never truly predict how things might pan out it really all comes down to making a calculated risk meaning you can measure the amount of risk that you’re taking and then compare to how much reward that you would likely be getting and in my opinion it would be worth it for them to take that risk but again that would only matter if Utah and most importantly Danny a should be willing to trade him now I’d like the fact that they have negotiated with him before with him being the one to take the Russell Westbrook contract out their hands if you already forgot but he definitely is a tough negotiator and not only that but he was a long-term member of the Celtics too meaning he definitely won’t be doing their team any favors here though he has proven to not be outright Petty which is more than I can say for a bunch of other teams so no I don’t think it would be an outright deal breaker and overall I think the Lakers should take a wait and see approach here FL marinin with them holding all their trade assets for if he would ever become available or at least for a little bit longer anyways but with all that being said what do you guys think how do you feel about a trade for l Mark in do you think they could pull it off or even before that do you think they should even want him let me know your thoughts in the comments down below that will do it for this video though big thank you to those of you took the time to watch until the end of this video and until the end of all my videos in general I really 1. If LBJ would accept during regular season being 6th man to save him for the playoffs.

Then J Vanderbilt start at SF helps with AR avg defense as a starter

Need a 2 way PG still as a starter.

Is just my thoughts doubt that it would happen

  2. Bro this is literally a perfect fit for LA he stretches the floor can rebound has size to defend such a bigger upgrade over rui, rui can’t defend and clogs the paint

  3. We need as close to a traditional big as possible but that has the mobility to keep up with the modern pace. They must perform big man role in both offense (rebounding & pick n' roll), defense (rebounding & rim protection) and height. This guy not being able to muscle up puts the burden back on to AD again. Which increases the chance that AD gets hurt during the season…
Bringing back The Carushow, The Bald Eagle, The Bald Mamba – Alex Caruso in a trade with Chicago should be our first move. Securing a D'Lo replacement that LBJ & AD trust in the PG position will save us a huge amount of chemistry building time.
We can choose between developing Hayes & Castleton to fulfill the needs during the season or trading for a traditional C later on.
We also need to consider Vincent, Vanderbilt and Reddish are (hopefully) getting back into form.
We have all the pieces we need, just need consistency and stability.

  4. Ppl say they don’t like Trae bec he doesn’t play defense. So under that same logic those same ppl shouldn’t want Lauri either right?

  5. JSM, can you make a vid on the top 3 free agents for the Lakers, I think Paul George would be perfect but I havent looked into his contract expectations or other specifics! But i wanna see your thoughts on PG to the Lakers!

  6. That would be a great pick up but we need a guard who can go get it take the ball and destroy people as good as Mitchel is he's not that guy. Hell it's not to many killers out there the Knicks got a good one in Brunson. Ant can be that guy. I just don't think we have the resources it takes to get one. Picks, players… I just don't know.

  7. Folks this is realistic . Are number one pick this year plus rui and matt Christy to Cleveland four Jarrod Allen . Austin Reeves d Lo to Atlanta . We get Murray .

  8. So if this the rationale about Lauri which I like then why not the same rationale on Zach Edey on defense? I swear if shaq was in the draft y’all would say he can’t switch on D and shoot the 3 and not to draft him. This is crazy.

  9. They will still get bullied by Jokic if this is their front court. We need a bigger center than AD.

  10. He gets injured a lot so that could possibly help in not having to give up everything but would love to have another big to count on

  11. LMAO …..Lakers have 0 1st round pics till 2029 …… they have average players with bloated salaries ….. Reeves wouldn’t even start on top 6 teams in the west ….. keep dreaming Laker fans …. James has ruined your future for a very very long time

  12. Absolutely a great fit if the Lakers wants to get him. Big man that can shoot. Although he is not the traditional big, the Lakers can really draft one, or even sign one like Boggie/Howard as a backup. I think it's not a bad choice too.
