available the numberers not awful but one of his Specialties has always been defense and the defense has started to dip and then in big games he’s become ice cold and shooting the rock more from Anthony Slater here Thompson wants to win don’t expect him to chase the largest possible offer from the Pistons or the Hornets even if that’s the correct Financial or leverage move but there are plenty of cap space teams with the clear upward path to contention than the Golden State Warriors that includes the Oklahoma City Thunder the Philadelphia 76ers in the Orlando Magic while I’ve said that Clay is declining a bit still possesses a valuable skill set and still would be a valuable member of this organization he’s he’s won four titles he’s played in a bunch of big series he’s played in a bunch of big games Do or Die situations the Sixers have been lacking success in that specific department so bringing in a player like Klay Thompson who can still shoot and space the floor who could still defend at a pretty solid level could be a good move for Philadelphia especially if they can get him on that bargain deal but because of those reasons other teams going to be interested in certainly play and he would be a better fit than Tobias Harris because he’s used to being that other option he’s used to being that player who only shoots from the outside and Tobias Harris was not attempts go up and even though the three-point attempts went up naturally often times the three-point numbers will go down they went up by four points up to 41.2% that’s what he did offensively what can he do and offer defensively he’s obviously not the player that he once was when he made the job so hard for LeBron James and kawh Leonard and Kevin Durant he became just a premier Elite Wing player and in turn for that stretch there when the warriors were winning titles one of the best two-way players in the history of the NBA he’s not what he once was on the defensive event still solid he’s not a traffic cone where you’re just going to go buy him like James har but he did get picked on by Sacramento in the playin game so that’s a concern are the injuries still a concern because in back-to-back years we saw what happen Tor ACL 2019 finals torn Achilles right after that so there were two years there for clay which I guess also makes that 13-year run sneaky shorter because two seasons were l L to injury where he didn’t play basketball at all 2019 2020 ACL then the Tor Achilles right before the 2020 2021 season and then he comes off that Achilles he played 32 games but in the last two years he has logged 69 games and 77 games and he’s played a lot in those Seasons so you round out some of these questions here chip how much do you pay clay what impact will he have defensively what can he still do offensively and then other teams in the mix how much will teams like the magic offer him the current market anywhere between 18 and 25 million per year where if you get that clay from this past year not a bad bargain there yeah not a bad deal at all and I really still like clay as a player again not what he once was but that skill set that three and D Wing that he possesses still very valuable and I think he can be very good for the Sixers again the problem with be how much money is he going to get there’s been some rumors that a team like the Orlando Magic might be willing to throw big time money at him upwards of 30 million a year because their needs are so clear they need spacing and they need shooting so a player like clay would fit so well next to PO next to fron Vagner I wouldn’t want to pay him $30 million you know I was thinking about it earlier like man not the same Defender he once was still decent but obviously slowed down can he shoot that 41% from three that he shot after the All-Star break as opposed to the 37 that he did before the All-Star break you know he’s not really giving you as much off the dribble not that he was ever doing that that much but not quite really doing a whole lot besides the catch and shoot at this point so how much is he worth I don’t think he’d be worth much more than 25 is probably the max I’d give him you know it comes down to it like if you’re going to add somebody and that mid-tier range right because he’s obviously not you’re not talking about s Paul George or S clay right right you’re comparing clay to you know the Malik monks of the world the cavius cwell popes of the world these guys are going to make between 20 to 30 million you know would I rather have CLA would I rather have a a Malik monk again it’s all going to come down to pricing what does his market look like the Thunder the magic what do these teams offer him if you can get him for 20 to 25 I do it if it goes up to that 30 million range I think that’s a little too much for me and I think the Warriors are taking the same approach there chip it’s like 18 to 25 we’re certainly going to think of about it but as Anthony Slater said they haven’t been knocking on his door they can’t afford to knock on his door if he’s going to ask for 30 mil but as part of what Anthony Slater said he’s looking to win he’s not looking to cash in and that could change a lot of things for where he goes given what teams could offer the need that they have and then along those same lines what if the Orlando Magic are like we really want you Kay looks at it as a destination to win and they pay him because they know that they need shoo a lot of factors that go into it how much would you pay clay per year 18 to 20 that’s my
