Unless he starts dropping out of workouts, saying he has a promise…

Edey could go anywhere from late lottery to the 2nd round. It’s wild.

He’s gotten into tremendous shape

It’s gonna be so nice for him to play with his level of talent for the first time since his sophomore year with Jaden Ivey. That Purdue team is straight ass besides him. It’s all Edey for why they got to the national championship.

You gotta respect how much Edey has improved his body every single year in college. Guy clearly cares and wants to give himself the best chance to succeed in the nba.
I would love to take a chance on him but completely trust this front office to assess whether his nba skills will transfer.

He’s the type of prospect that if he does good in the nba, everyone will be saying it was so obvious and it’s dumb teams did not draft him, but drafting him is so risky. He’s basically a skilled big man from the 2000s.

Regardless of where he goes, really hoping the best for him

I guess these workouts aren’t top secret anymore?

Stupid question probably, but can anyone explain the NBA model around these “workouts”?
Are any of them intended as full intensity, “you’re spot is on the line” style tryouts? And if so, how is any team thinking that’s a better method of evaluation than 3 dozen college game clips? Why would the NBA not have more public workouts like the NFL combine?
Are they called workouts, but they are really just more meet-and-greets, while the player is dribbling a ball?

as much as I’d like the idea of another Canadian on this team, Raps desperately need shooters and even then I don’t think Edey falls to 19. I really think he’s going in the late lottery despite the projections having him anywhere from lottery to the 2nd round.

Ive seen enough from this clip. First overall

He’s gonna have a solid career. A great piece a lot of teams could use. He can finish around the rim which bits like Rudy can’t do AT ALL.

I’m out. He also seems calm and mild. perhaps a little timid. NBA is a grind and you need to fight for your meat. Is he really going to surprise us with confidence and a killer instinct?

Brook Lopez level in 5 years calling it rn

Definitely trust the org to make the right call on this guy, whatever they decide. I don’t love his fit with this core, but the upside could be too big to pass up.
If they do draft Edey or another C, I’ve mentioned before that it would be great to see if the Raptors could try and bring in Vitaly Potapenko as an assistant coach; developed JJJ at Memphis and was a colleague of Darko’s there, and previously developed Thompson with Cleveland. Memphis apparently let a bunch of their assistants go, but I still haven’t found a list of those who were released. I could be wrong but I don’t think Raptors have anyone on the coaching staff who is a big-man specialist since Magloire?
