The nets got more from Dallas. Remember DFS could have been traded for a pick or two. And Dinwiddie had value as well. The lakers should have been attaching assets to take on the Russ contract.

Where Marks screwed up is not trading DFS and Dinwiddie when their value was high.

Why is this old news being recycled? The Nets countered their offer with Austin Reaves and Max Christie (their rookie at the time that was seeing no real playing time) & The Lakers value them more than Kyrie.

Chiming in to say… This was widely reported at the time.

Westbrook was expiring that season, and those two picks offered were 2027 and 2029. Westbrook was eventually moved (along with a top 4 protected Lakers 2027) to Utah instead.

ESPN somehow has to always remind the world the Lakers exist and make them relevant to whatever is happening the NBA.
