Free Agents Want Victor Wembanyama & Spurs
on everyone so Victor wiama was absolutely special in his rookie season and really puts San Antonio in a unique position right cuz it’s like okay you could do the patient route take your time slowly build this roster right vikor wanyama he’s so young you’re going to have him you know another 15 20 years uh if all works out right but there is the incentive of because he was so great of maybe making little pushes and nudges to get guys that you might not get otherwise now I’m not saying you go and you just dive into the pool you just take whatever’s available no obviously you want to be very cautious uh to where you don’t end up setting yourself back right but if the right move the right piece is on the table right like a name that comes to mind if you get like a Lori Markin in or something right like that I think could go a long way Darius Garland is another name that comes to mind I think Darius Garland with a Victor whama makes a lot of sense right if the right move is there where you can kind of expedite things a little bit maybe at the end of this upcoming season you’re a move or two away from like real contention then why not the other approach is you know you have the the fourth and the eighth pick in the draft you just kind of draft those guys slowly build develop guys uh and then you know bring in some free agents to kind of round out this roster and see what you can do see what you’re capable of there’s a lot of going around uh about you know Spurs bringing in kind of a veteran guy maybe like a Chris Paul where even if you draft somebody on right like let’s say you know you draft Dylan ham or you know a topic or whomever right like let’s say you do get a guy that’s like okay here’s our point guard of the future I don’t think it would hurt to bring in Chris Paul uh you know kind of give him that that JJ reic deal where you kind of give him an inflated deal as like a placeholder for one year right so that way you don’t ruin future cap space and he can be a me tour and kind of help and grow and develop whichever young guard you bring in I mean look at what he was able to do for like uh sgaa right sgaa to this day thanks Chris Paul for turning him into the player that he was obviously SGA did a lot of it himself and he had the skills but he’s talked heavily about Chris Paul really kind of shaping him and molding him so I just think even as a mentor for the young guys could go a long way and he’s a guy that I think would work very well with Victor even if you were to trade for again a Darius Garland or something like that right like I do think bringing in a guy a veteran guy like a Chris Paul could make some sense but according to Kevin Conor uh it looks like the Spurs may have essentially their pick of the litter um according to him that all the free agents all of the veteran guards keyword veteran guards all want to go to San Antonio and play with Victor wiama and to me that does make a lot of sense right if you are you know one of these veteran guys that that just you know wants to get some key play time maybe get a little bit of a bag right and play with a a just a Cornerstone that’s going to make you look good as a guard I think go a long way right like again using Chris Paul as an example Chris Paul could go to San Antonio play with pop know help be a development guy know maybe Spurs pay him 15 20 million for a year which I know some people might think like what are they doing no again it’s just a placeholder it’s just cuz you’re not there’s no free agents you’re not going to sign some guard that doesn’t make sense for La it’s like you want to preserve your future cap space teams do it all the time give that oneyear inflated deal uh Indiana is a great example right Indiana gave uh Bruce Brown a inflated contract right and they were able to get Pascal seaka that’s another important factor and hey guys are always const every year there’s three four five six guys that end up becoming available that maybe make more sense and if you have an inflated Chris Paul contract you can maybe unload him to to get a more long-term piece right again it’s just a placeholder because you’re going to also have to incentivize some of these guys but playing alongside Victor I just think would make things so much easier but just vets in general right like again like if you’re the Spurs if you can get a Garland or you can get um even like a dejonte Murray right something like that I wouldn’t hate that idea but if you can get ideally a a good Cornerstone point guard that can grow and develop alongside Victor wanyama that’s why I kind of lean towards like a Darius Garland because Darius Garland still is what he’s like 24 might have just turned 25 to me if you get something like that and then kind of bring in some some real vets kind of shape and mold this culture you know the Spurs still have really young players you know Johnson vessel right like uh you have these guys that I think could really benefit from kind of an influx right like you look at like guys like Jeff Green and um where you look at him and it’s like wow I can’t believe you know his impact on Denver and when they win right and it’s like oh no like he goes a long way the the Lakers example with like guys like Jared Dudley that you’d never think of Rajan Rondo That season right like now granted Lakers were more built to win a championship but the point is like those guys that come in those veterans that are I mean Miami is another great example with Udonis Haslam right I mean they kept Udonis Haslam until Udonis was like all right enough is enough right like I just want to go home and chill right because those guys are very valuable so to me if you can find the right key young pieces right like let’s say you draft a castle with the fourth pick you get a you know to pick with the eighth pick or whomever right and then if you can trade uh for Darius or maybe you draft let’s say you draft castle and you use the eighth pick to go get Darius Garland now you have Darius Garland you have Castle right go Johnson or vessel and then have Victor whama and then bring in one or two maybe even several vets you kind of give them a bit of an inflated contract if you want to preserve C because that’s the beauty of the Spurs they they have picks they have financials right they have plenty of money they have a lot of upside and they are also going to have to start making some decisions on guys right like I would be shocked if half the guys that are on this roster on the roster five years from now right like I just or even maybe potentially three years from now right like Kellin Johnson and um and you know uh Devon vassel I think you’re probably going to have to choose between one of them I think one of them is going to go at some point right especially if you’re bringing in let’s say they do draft like a castle or something I just think at that point you don’t want to have too many cooks in the kitchen so I got to imagine that they do something like that um you know uh so and like what do they do with him do they keep him they were kind of running that like point forward and it wasn’t really working and looking well um so do they maybe unload him or they use him as like a key bench guy because they’re also going to have to start paying guys as time goes on Victor is going to end up getting a getting a Payday but to me it’s like I think you could use this to to kind of lay the foundation like you could start this season again laying the foundation building the the structure and framework going forward bringing in some key vets that maybe for a year or two can really kind of help shape the young guys and help really shape this young core and you know and then by year three maybe year four you’re you’re really seeing strides I mean another great example is like the the Houston Rockets right like kind of like what the Rockets did some of their moves I didn’t really like like I like they really overpaid for a lot of their veteran guys um and I I wasn’t really high on that but again I don’t mind if you do that if it’s on shorter deals right the thing is like they maxed out like you know G gave oh green was actually on a pretty good contract but like Dylan Brooks and Fred uh van vet and like all these guys they just gave these like huge contracts to for like 3 four years and it’s like what are you doing like to me I’d like to see the Spurs maybe do something similar to Houston but it’s kind of more of like a short term like you know we we’ll do kind of like Bruce Brown deals where yeah you’re getting an inflated contract um which if we can find a move if we can find a trade that works and makes sense then we’re going to unfortunately use you to trade but you’re getting paid and if not then we’re going to keep you here to kind of help these young guys maybe make a playoff push or get into the play in or something start developing some experience and you know and then you have player or team options year two to where you can just cut guys if you want to or you could just keep them run it back let all the money expire and then maybe some free agents or something like that that you want to go but regardless Victor wiama it it’s it’s the whole if you build it they will come type thing Victor wanyama is the is the building that was built that’s going to attract the the tenants right like he’s the guy that players are going to see and guards are going to see and other even stars that are going to look at and go man me and Victor we might be able to win a championship right because like the model right now is two stars and a bunch of you know top roll players right and you just have nice balance of defense and offense Victor whama is probably going to make you if you just have one or two half decent defensive guys probably the best defense or one of the best defensive teams in the league right so like if you can get that young star if you can bring in you know a a guy or two you know say somebody you know let’s say uh even like a Devon Booker or like you know in a perfect world like an Anthony Edwards becomes available or something like that at some point right you get that other star maybe Castle you know maybe you draft castle and he turns into something or you know you trade for Darius gar I mean Darius Garland people forget Darius Garland was an Allstar he was you know a 22 and N guy like he was looking really he was looking like the next beond promising uh just point guard of the league but if you can get somebody right that come in get that other real star to Peron Victor and then just get two or three just real blue chip role players and then a couple nice depth guys I I I don’t see why they can’t contend I don’t see why they can’t compete and to me Victor’s really going to be the the driving force to me Victor’s really the he’s the guy that that I think a lot lot of players are going to want to to go play with and he is in San Antonio so he’s in that you know Texas Market you know the tax compared to places like LA and stuff like that like you got the culture you get to play with pop right like it it’s an organization that wants to win and knows how to win and has had dynasties right so it’s just if you’re a star you’re just like a a a really good role player that’s looking for for a place to call home for a few years and you know kind of grow and develop like I think you could do worse than San Antonio I think you do much worse than San Antonio I think San Antonio is a really good place um for for just many um Acquisitions and I think the Spurs I think they’re going to have their pickings right I I really do think that the the Kevin okono or Conor uh him saying that like all these free agents really want to play with the Spurs and I mean even Victor said it himself right didn’t Victor say that uh he’s been that people have called him and been like hey we want to team up we want to play with you so I I definitely think it’s coming right might not be this year might take you know a year or two or whatever but I really think within the next like three to five years tops I think the Spurs have potential to be be an absolute Powerhouse but anyway as always this is a discussion pass a question on you let me know your thoughts and opinions down in the comments below what do you think what are your thoughts um know how do you feel do you think like yeah everyone wants to play with Victor whama you know what’s what’s the the show everyone hates Chris it’s everyone loves Victor Victor Wembanyama Is a special Talent that should attract other talent to the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs have a ton of assets and could really go all in around Wembanyama or take their time and slowly build through the draft. Spurs News came out that vet guards and various Players wanna play with Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs.

That is what happens when you're a bad team and franchise.
What about Bronny being drafted by the Spurs to attract LeBron? It’s a win win for both sides. LeBron would be happy to have Pop as Bronny’s first coach and Pop would be happy to have Wemby playing with LeBron. The spurs have enough cap space to offer LeBron a max contract.
From the Laker’s point of view, we get to start over. Lots of my fellow Laker fans can’t wait for LeBron to leave. That also seems like a win win.
PGs only want to go to the Spurs bec they are one of the few teams that have guard openings and have max cap space.
Chris Paul is literally 40 years old…
Media : "everyone wants to play with Wembanyama"
Me : "not everyone wants to play in San Antonio. stop doing that"
