2nd Pick, Washington Wizards | 2024 Mock Draft

welcome back into the mock draft for the 2024 NBA draft we are going down the list number two overall pick a place that the Grizzlies obviously love we love a good second overall pick uh today we are looking at the Washington Wizards Tyrone Montgomery will be representing the Washington Wizards uh the Wizards did not have the best season uh they are one among the NBA’s worst defensive teams this last year they allowed the most points like 123 points per game uh they weren’t super effective on the boards uh I know I’m not telling you anything that you don’t know already tyone but they they need help in a lot of positions right one would be the big everyone kind of needs a little big I know they got Marvin Begley the third but like you would move him over it would allow Kyle kma to move over but then the two guys who I kind of have like again I don’t know who you’re choosing just so everyone knows the two guys in my mind that I think Washington would take in this mock draft at least because Alex SAR is off the table one’s a big and one’s a big Wing so I’m interested to see which direction you go and why with that being said let’s put you on the clock representing the Washington Wizards who are you choosing representing the Washington Wizards I am choosing Stefan castle out of Yukon I am shocked I am shocked okay give me a breakdown why so the first initial thought was alexar but with him being off the table the Wizards do need a big man that’s truly for sure but with him being off the table I went with Castle because you look at the NBA and the way the dynamic is now aays you see um you see teams like the Boston Celtics representing the East and NBA Finals that one-w punch that Dynamic one-w punch of Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown is something that a lot of teams can’t contend with the Wizards last year they took um bow k kabali um within the lottery and he to be a bright spot so adding Stefan Castle next to him it could be a pretty interesting dynamic between the two yeah Castle is 66 210 coming out of Yukon obviously Yukon has been a very dominant team for the last uh little bit my curiosity lies in I get your onew punch I get uton has Yukon has been good what makes you overlook Donovan kingan then in the big position just just not a strong believer in them um I feel like the Wizards um can look into free agency this summer to address those needs um within the front court and then you also look at the fact that um you got a guy like Denny that’s come alive season for the Wizards and you still have Kyle kosma who probably should have been an Allstar if the Wizards were a winning team so within that uh three and four position and even a five position within free agency I think they’re pretty set there all right let’s say that the Washington Wizards takes toon Castle give me your like ideal starting lineup for next year that includes him all right um I starting lineup last year towards the end of the season the Wizards did move Jordan P to the point guard position and it worked out uh I think he’s the guy that needs the ball in his hands so I will put point guard I will move uh Stefan castle at the two and I would put bow at the three usma at the four and um it’s hard to put Denny on the bench there but you know got to at this point if you want to just restart and rebuild this whole thing and then um Marvin Bagley we can pencil Amendment at the five but I think but you’re saying like find find to five yeah F to five all right I’m not mad at it I’m shocked but I’m not mad at it we like a little onew punch here and there uh Tyron thank you so much this is so fun I’m so happy that you chose someone that like that’s the fun thing about this draft we don’t know like we do not know and that’s what this fun Stefan Castle to the Washington Wizards I appreciate your time so very much like like thank you

  1. There is no way that Deni is moved to the bench. Deni was voted one of the most improved players of 2024. He scored 43 points against the New Orleans pelicans, he’s much more efficient than Kyle Kuzma, a better defensive player than Kyle Kuzma, a proven three level scorer and you want to move him to the bench, really🤷🏾‍♂️! I actually believe Deni is the better player if given the opportunity.

Also, Stefon Castle is not even taking workouts from teams that don’t need a point guard so I don’t understand why you’re saying you would move him to the 2🤷🏾‍♂️. The last thing the Wizards want is a disgruntled player messing up the locker room. You just created two disgruntled players. Deni would likely request a trade if moved to the bench. Castle would simply be miserable so I totally disagree.
