we do need a backup long/athletic wing badly, especially considering OG is definitely going to get hurt at some point

  2. I absolutely want to use one of our first rounders to roll the dice on Dunn, I do not think he’ll make it to our second round pick.

We can absolutely give him one of the 15 man rotation spots and develop him in the g League, we have nobody young we’re developing right now.

He already has elite defense, if he can develop a corner 3 he’ll become a valuable rotation player.

I don’t see how Dunn can be comparable to Herb Jones. I’m not too familiar with Jones’ college stats, but Dunn shot horribly all year, particularly from 3 point range.

  4. He looks good, maybe a little too good on the defensive end but he has to shoot better.

Defense is important to us, and he looks like an OG lite

He can’t shoot to save his life, not even free throws. He’s more of an athlete than a skilled player and the Knicks should be focus on getting skilled players.

Watched a lot of UVA and I was constantly questioning how Dunn was viewed as a lottery pick. He’s A LOT of projection and I don’t know if he’ll ever be a reliable scorer.

it’s not just the not shooting that’s a problem it’s ANYTHING other than wide open dunks.

Just physical appearance wise, he looks like Cam Payne lol

I did my own personal deep-dive with my other draft enthusiast friend on him yesterday so I’m glad to see this today:

    On Herb Jones comparison:

Herb Jones shot 28.8% in 4 years at Alabama and 60% from FT. That is all I will say.

A lot more defense-first wings become serviceable NBA 3&D wings than say, a focal point offensive stretch-big like DeRon (who I’m also a big fan of) becomes a corner C&S threat/defensive anchor.

I like Dunn. I say this to you as a man who watched Isaac Okoro shoot 39% this season from 3, after they said his previous 36% and 35% was a fluke from the 29% he started with his rookie season. As a team employing Josh Hart who can be considered a non-shooter, we should be able to see where the offense can come from, and trust where it can go being that he’s 2 years younger than Herb Jones coming out.

Worst-case i(f given opportunity) to me is somewhere between a taller/longer Matisse Thybulle or Jeff Green, but projecting to be a much more impactful defender. Amen Thompson defense/motor/athleticism without the hype.

Situationally, if we can acquire the secondary ball handler/shot creator in FA or through trade and have a pick to spare, this would be a great one IMO.

I am of the mindset you cant teaach defense. Shooting can always be improved. His form doesnt look bad I think its worth a flier especially at 38.

  11. I think it’s always a bad idea to say the “next..”

When you do stuff like this you (in this case) are talking yourself into Herb Jones not Ryan Dunn.

Dunn is his own person and will have his own challenges and expecting him to be an outlier likes jones is a terrible idea.

Right now he has poor shooting touch and that is not a simple swing skill to fix

This guy looks way too much like RJ and for that reason, I’m out.

If Zach eddy available we should draft him. Next wembemyama

Begley said he worked out for the knicks ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)

  15. I’d much rather have Harrison Ingram than Ryan Dunn and both would play the same position.
