🚨 Knicks Insider Predicts Knicks Offseason Moves | New York Knicks Rumors, News

best beat reporters that covers this team he came out with an article with his predictions for the New York Knicks and some of the moves that he thinks they are going to make and some moves that he thinks will not happen for this team I’m going to link Ian’s full article in the com in the comments and description of today’s show so if you want to check it out go support Ian over there they do an awesome job shout out to him and all of the crew over at SNY he talked about Tom Tibido ogan anobi Jaylen Brunson and Julius Randle let’s start with Tom Tibido as we know Tibido is looking for a contract extension he absolutely deserves it what he’s been able to do as the head coach for the New York Knicks should not be taken lightly uh I don’t abide by the theory of just because is the best you’ve had since Van Gundy he is here no matter what I don’t ever believe that that’s the case just because you have someone that’s better than the one before they’re the one that deserves the job no I think that Tom Tibido is actually one of the best people for this job right now the connections to uh Jaylen Brunson so on so forth the identity really he is a part of this team just as much as anybody else and he’s looking for a contract extension and he should get one and I think it’s going to Happ as does Begley this is what he says quote my prediction for Tibido is that he gets two guaranteed years on his extension any year Beyond two will be at the team option I think this would extend Tibido through the 26 27 season I’m not sure where the money will end up but it’s reasonable to expect it to land above Brown’s reported offer that was about $10 million per year um for Mike Brown as he has signed an extension with the Sacramento Kings but I think tibs is going to be looking to get get paid at the bare minimum of what Monty Williams got from the Detroit Pistons he signed a massive deal and then tyo just signed it with the Clippers a 5year $70 million extension and if I’m Tom Tibido I’m looking at that saying I’ve done more for the Knicks than what Ty Lou has done for the Clippers I know Lou has a championship in his resume shout out to LeBron James and Kyrie Irving but for what I have done in Tom Tibido with the New York Knicks is better than what Tylo has done and I think I deserve more so I think Tibido extension is going to come Ian Begley does as well and I think it’s going to put him in the top five highest paid coaches with guys like Steve Kerr Greg papovich Ty Lou Eric spola as well as Monty Williams I believe he’ll come in maybe take Williams Monty Williams spot as the fifth highest paid coach and I think that’s that’s absolutely Fair the New York Knicks are one of three teams to reach the second round of the playoffs in each of the last two seasons they’re in the same boat as the Boston Celtics are in the NBA Finals the Denver Nuggets who just won the championship and the New York Knicks those are the only three teams in the NBA to make the second round two years in a row Knicks are in a good spot tib should be compensated for that I think he should get a contract extension if you think he should hit that thumbs up icon for me right now from Tibido to OG anobi this is what he says he being Ian Begley apologize says I’ll predict here that anobi resigns with New York on a contract that contains some incentives for games played and I also and I’ve said it one to 500 times on the show at this point that I think anobi is going to remain a member of the New York Knicks I don’t think that Leon Rose and worldwide West would go out and make a trade that forced them to give up RJ Baron and Emanuel quickly to acquire anobi if they didn’t have a really really strong feeling that OJ anobi and his agent Sam Rose Leon Rose’s son um that they wanted to stay and be a part of the long-term future for the the New York Knicks we know how good anobi is um and he’s going to be the highest paid player on the niick is the the best player on Knicks no that’s Jaylen Brunson and we’ll talk about J in a second but the Knicks have to do everything it takes there is no number that is too high for Anon Obi at this point I think a deal of four years 150 4 years 145 is probably close to what it would be and if the Knicks can somehow write in some incentives for games played that’d be awesome we know that injuries have been kind of a thing for anobi since he was a member of the Toronto Raptors but when he’s on the four his impact cannot be underestimated he took the New York Knicks from one of the most middle of the- pack teams in December to the best team in January and when he was on the FL top five team in the NBA anobi is awesome he is he is exactly what the Knicks needed um and he’s going to be here he’s going to be here a deal is going to get done I’m sure Philadelphia will try to give him a bag maybe Utah um um if I was OKC I’d give him a bag but that’s not really been their thing of signing Big Time free agents I think anobi will be back as does Ian Begley let’s talk about extensions we already talked about tibs let’s talk about jayen Brunson there was an article that came out from Steve popper where he I don’t want to say reported um I think we all kind of jumped a gun on that but at the idea pretty much that he had heard that jel Brunson is Will to sign a contract extension this Summer that would be a much better better deal for the Knicks and less money in his pocket let’s just call it what it is Brunson is under contract through 2024 2025 he has a player option for 2526 if Brunson declines the player option in 2526 he can sign a Max contract of roughly 270 million over 5 years that contract would run um through 29 20 uh 2030 on July 30th Brunson will be eligible for a contract extension and going be as long as four seasons and as much as 150 six million so instead of 5 years 270 he is reportedly interested or willing to sign a 4year 156 and that would be a major get for the New York Knicks and I almost feel bad because Brunson deserves everything he should get but man that’s just the type of person he is and I’m not going to be shocked if he does and if he doesn’t you know what I’m not going to be mad either and I don’t think anybody should be Ian Begley says this my prediction here is that the Knicks will have a good chance to come to terms with Brunson on an extension starting July 13th I don’t want to predict whether a deal will ultimately get done but I feel comfortable predicting that the Knicks will have a strong opportunity uh to get a deal done so there’s that he predicts that the Knicks have a strong opportunity to get it done I don’t know if it will be done or if it should be done if it yeah it should be done if he will get it done um Jaylen brunson’s going to be a Nick I think he’s going to retire Nick I don’t think he’ll ever wear another Jersey and I don’t think anybody else will ever wear a number 11 for the New York Knicks um he’s he’s our guy for a long long time hopefully he can stay healthy he was at Eagles Philadelphia Eagles practice today and uh that made me want to throw up a little bit so Jaylen I love you but I hate the year an Eagles fan fix it please we need it um there’s also talks of Julius Randall getting a contract extension this off season that one like Ian I’m not so sure is going to happen or should it happen this is what Begley said I think Rand will bounce back well from his shoulder surgery and have another strong season in 20242 he is eligible for an extension in early August my prediction on that is he and the Knicks will be unable to come to an agreement on an extension in August I only think the New York Nick should go out and rush to get a Randall deal done and not because he’s not worthy of it but more so let’s see how he looks after the shoulder surgery and let’s see if he could play a full season let’s see if he could play in the playoffs let’s see if he could be a big dog in the playoffs um we all know the long history of Randall in the playoffs but it’s two years in a row now Randall has had significant injuries happen and it’s caused him to a not play in the postseason or B play at less than 80% healthy therefore causing him not to be good um the Knicks are better with Julius Randle on the court the Knicks with Randall Brunson and anobi playing were 11 and one they beat teams by an average of 18 plus points per game game they were the number one defense number one offense number one rebounding team they were the best in the league small sample size but enough data to at least take away that that Trio can have success um and a regular season level going forward but I’m not going and giving Julius Rand a contract extension just yet two years in a row he’s pretty much had season ining injuries he’s had offseason surgery two times in a row major injuries as well um freak injuries no doubt about it not saying Julius Randle is not durable but the facts are the facts two two injuries that he had offseason surgery that caus him a m time let’s just see him bounce back which I think he will but I don’t think there’s any need to just go out and pay him right now unless you think that you can get him at a much lower number now compared to what you can get him 12 months from now but I I wouldn’t do it and it sounds like Begley doesn’t think it will happen my question my lone question to the real ones today is this what is one bold prediction that you have for the New York Knicks going into next season I want to hear from you one bold prediction let me know I don’t know how bold this is but whatever the reason may be my prediction is going to be Buon bogdanovich is not on this team next year um $19 million for buan bogdanovich to come off the bench if you do bring back anobi and you do bring back hartenstein at the reported numbers the New York Knicks are going to be handcuffing themselves as they will be an apron team and most likely a second apron team and if you are a second apron team you have some strong restrictions when it comes to trying to make moves for example if you’re trying to trade for a player let’s say Giannis and he’s making $40 million whatever it is just easy numbers here not saying it’s right or wrong for the Knicks to trade for Giannis if they’re a second apron team it has to be a one forone trade and you can’t be taking back more money than you’re giving up meaning you can’t say oh well Haron uh Buon makes 20 and random makes 25 we’ll do that no has to be a one for one no aggregating players in a trade if you’re a second apron team and your seventh year future seventh your future first round pick seven years down the line gets frozen so it limits the amount of first round picks you can get I say all that to say um Aly bu’s going to be here whether he’s Trading whether he is um doesn’t have his team option picked up and it’s just a $2 million salary my camera is out of focus so I’m going to try to fix that for you guys um looks like it’s not going to get fixed we’re coming to the end of the video so if you’re with me at this point uh appreciate y’all um it’s been a rough day for the kid but my prediction is no buyon I think it just handcuffs the team too much money for him especially if you want to bring back an and Obi and hartenstein so my prediction Buon bogdanovich is not on this team
