Smh that damn heat front office . Lol This is what prime dwade needed. 08-10 do u think this would have worked.

This was around that 08-09 season. This duo would have been hell the way dwade was playing he just needed another scorer.

This might have been iverson next best chance to win one

Possible the most dangerous backcourt ever

A.I was coming off a season where he was averaging 27 pts u add that with prime dwade

Its not just about putting 2-3 guys together. Gotta build something around them. Would they be able to get Bosh n Bron after those years?

Also, even if you just look at the pre Big 3 years, I truly suffered Pat’s last 2 years and it was a little better, but still horrible for Spo’s first 2 years. Wade was by himself and the supporting cast was mostly ass. Iverson/Wade would have been a fuckin waste.

Some see the names, but don’t think about the surroundings from the Heat team to the East at that point.

Did you watch Allen Iverson post Philly? He was overrated and a chucker while also being absolute ass defensively

  3. Exact-Interest3255

Undersized Inefficient shot chucker that only plays defense in passing lanes. No thanks, Wade needed a legit big or a star wing which he got in 2010

  4. jimmythechicken

You think heat culture would’ve been down with the not showing up to practice thing

  5. What the did teams that did trade for him win? Nothing. Ppl just love to complain.

If we traded for AI then we might not have assembled the big 3. Would u really trade that for washed AI?

  6. Unlikely_Sherbert_75

AI is one of my goats. I remember growing up thinking he was short, I was short. He was fast, I was fast. I tried everything to model my game after ai and later wade.

I can assure you, ai was cooked in 08 and was no where near the same player he was in the late 90s and early 2000s

  7. Cocknballtorture90

i love AI but i don’t think that shit would’ve worked lol. that would be some of the worst floor spacing from a 1 and 2 we’ve ever seen, not to mention wade would have to play even more defense to make up for AI.

  8. lokifrog1

I’ve seen casual takes before but this one, holy smokes 🫡

  9. Proof-Research-6466

Why does this even matter right now. Wade has 3 rings ??? We won chips with him.

Such a weird thing to complain about. We won in the 05-06 season and got back to the finals by the 10-11 season. So four mid seasons between finals appearances and we’re gonna second guess the front office? They had their plan and it worked perfectly. You don’t actually expect a team to constantly reach the finals or win every year, do you?

  11. Too similar to Wade and would have taken the ball out of his hands too much. Love AI but glad this didn’t happen.

  12. 10choices

This would not have worked and actually might have been one of the worst superstar fits of all time if it went through.

2008 was the Beijing Olympics. Who was included in team USA ? The big 3.

100 percent, that big 3 was formed (verbally) in 2008. Wade and LeBron already talked about teaming up, maybe even after Miami won in ’06, or Cleveland lost in ‘ 07.

That duo of Wade and LeBron was already verbally formed around 2006 – 07. And in that ’08 Olympics, they tried to pick up a 3rd guy to complete the big 3. And right around that time, 08-10, they were clearing cap for LeBron and CB.

DWade had an old interview (I think that was with KG) basically saying they were choosing between, DRose, Amare, Melo and a few more stars to complete the Big 3. Until they ended up with CB, because of the fit.

They felt CB also was comfortable to be a 3rd option, compared to DRose or Melo, who would’ve wanted to be the first options.

AI most likely also popped up as an option in 2010 to be added as a Free Agent as well. But Miami already had Rio back then, and they didn’t want ball dominant guards next to LeBron and Wade (that’s why CB was the 3rd member of the big 3). It’s either that or AI, really didn’t wanna sign with Miami.

They ain’t winning a championship, but they surely be fun to watch.

The 08-09 season was when Iverson fell off an absolute cliff. 09-10 was his last year in the league. I legitimately can’t tell if this is bait or not.

There’s a reason he was traded for the corpses of Chauncey Billups & Antonio McDyess.

The heat were also apparently trying to acquire Amare Stoudemire around this time to pair with Wade. Luckily the team stuck the course and wound up catching bigger whales.

Not getting iverson worked out for us. 4 finals and two rings not sure the bad fit of wade and iverson gets us one.
