76ers Rumors: De’Anthony Melton LEAVING Sixers In NBA Free Agency + 76ers NBA Mock Draft

on tap for today’s Philadelphia 76ers now is DeAnthony Melton leaving the Sixers in NBA free agency and also the draft is coming up sneakily at the end of this month and Philadelphia is well positioned here going into the draft if they don’t trade away their picks so we’re going to take a look at the ringer new NBA mock draft first let’s prove all the haters wrong especially the Miami Heat report here at chat sports they told producer chip and I we couldn’t get 200 likes on this video I said bet I guarantee you we will do that so hit that thumbs up icon like the video we don’t take any L’s here on the show I’m Chase senior this is Philadelphia 76ers Now by chat sports thank you so much for joining us we start off with the Anthony Melton is he as good as gone reports indicating that the Anthony Melton may not be returning to Philadelphia for sports with the report here looking at the future of Melton might not be in Philadelphia here Melton will command a solid Market of interested teams and unrestricted free agency Melton has developed into a reliable three-point shooting threat to go along with the strong defensive production at 62 with the 68 wingspan as the Sixers prepare to Star chase this off season Melton could end up elsewhere the interested teams in DeAnthony Melton you’re looking at the Charlotte Hornets a lot of capital on a bad team the surging Orlando Magic who could use a veteran who is really good on both ends can guard points can guard wings and can also give you a little bit on the offensive end of the floor and then the up incoming San Antonio Spurs with Victor wanyama turning San Antonio once again into a free agent destination it was a good two years for Melton in Philadelphia if he does decide to go elsewhere to continue NBA career of course it’s going to come down to how the back holds up because as we know toward the tail end of last year you thought Melton was going to come back and then he couldn’t and then he did then he had to go on the Shelf once again in the NBA Playoffs he made that brief appearance against the New York Knicks but the back continued to flare up on Melton and we know how the back injuries go sometimes but in backto back years 10 11 points per game right around three to four rebound couple of assists here and there the field goal numbers last year better than this year the three-point numbers though I think you’re looking at a player who’s more like the 2022 2023 version where he’s about 43% from the deck 39% from three and he can give a team really really good defense and that defensive tenacity is why I think some winning teams are going to look at Melton if they have some money they try to bring him in that’s exactly what crossed Philadelphia’s mind when they traded for Melton a couple of years ago to get rid of that Danny Green salary 62 with the 68 wingspan you could tell Melton is so long you see him just standing idly and you see how long his arms are it allows him to get a shot off at times but also to be a defensive disruptor solid perimeter Defender no doubt about that he’s a capable three-point shooter a good secondary ball handler who occasionally is going to bring the ball up the floor and he’s athletic in bouny when he’s right but going back to the back there I think the teams have to be concerned about the back injury because if he doesn’t undergo surgery you feel as though that’s something that could just flare up and if it does that could cause teams to hit paw on a full pursuit of the Anthony Melton in free agency so Chip let’s bring you in should the Sixers bring him back despite dealing with the back injury Melton I still think is going to have some suitors in free agency just because he’s that playoff rotation type of player and I’m just not sure how aggressive Philadelphia is going to be in trying to bring him back yeah sucks because he’s a player I really like when he’s healthy I thought he fit well with the Sixers and you know we talked about about him on the show being kind of their X Factor a player that when the playoffs come around you need those good role players those guys that can play solid defense hit the three handle the rock a little bit and he’s a player I think contenders would really really like but another player that look as a Sixers we know they’re going to go Star chasing if they spend a lot of money elsewhere on a bigname player they’re just not going to have the money to resign Melton now we’ll see you know we saw those interested teams in DeAnthony Melton but how much money will he be getting I think that back injury he had will hurt him a little bit because again those type of back injuries can linger sometimes for a player’s whole career so will he get 10 12 $15 million I think is that number start to go up the Sixers with all these big plans they have just simply won’t be able to retain them and got a player that I think fits really well next to Tyrese Maxi and they Trad for him from the Grizzlies I thought he’s been very very solid but unfortunately at this point in time looks like Melton might be on the way out what do you think should the Sixers resign Melton or let him walk I shared my thoughts producer chip bringing the heat as well s for resign W4 let him walk join the conversation Down Below in the comment section coming up next on the other side of the show ringers new mock draft who do the Sixers take at 16th overall and 41st overall chip I know we’re going to hear from you in a little while I kind of sneakily hope Philadelphia holds on to these picks because I want something to talk about on draft night and frankly the draft it’s fun to talk about so too is prize picks it’s a lot of fun in playing daily fantasy sports and it’s very easy easy frankly you pick two or more players you choose more or less on their projected stats and you can win up to 25 times your money head to prize.com clns use the code clns and just get in on the action speaking of the action game one NBA finals Thursday night Boston Celtics Dallas Mavericks prize picks with a couple of specials here Jason Tatum more than a half Point uh yeah are you kidding me Derek Lively all he has to do is dish out one dime more than a half assist and then Daniel Gafford more than six rebounds he’s very active on the window win big money withdraw your winnings pick more pick less pick prize picks today prize picks.com slns let’s once again do some 76ers draft talk and we’ve looked at a couple of prospects we’ve looked at some mock drafts so far here on the show and let’s continue to inform you on some potential 76ers draft targets at pick number 16 in the ringer new mock draft Carlton Carrington the guard out of pit a swift mover very intriguing player has some upside and is right on the cusp of maybe being a lottery pick in the 2024 draft 64 195 lounds you want to lose to Anthony Melton with that 68 wingspan you’re bringing a player like Carl Alon Carrington who’s 6’4 with the 68 Wings span weighing in at 195 lbs played one year of hoop at Pittsburg so he declared for the draft and remained in the draft after his freshman year in which he averaged 13.8 points per game five boards four assists 41% from the field 32% from three-point range the efficiency there obviously going to have to get better for this combo guard Kevin o’ Conor of the ringer on Carrington to Philadelphia he said Carrington’s pullup shooting ability and pick and roll playmaking skill could make him an immediate contributor for the Sixers Carrington is a bucket getting guard with size who can catch fire on any night and he really is that player who’s a lot of fun to watch sometimes you’d tune in to ESPN you’d see pit playing and you’d see this guy just gunning chucking from Deep on fire on some night but as evidenced by the lack of efficiency as far as the shooting numbers he did some cold spells here and there but he’s also a volume shooter I kind of want to see a player like this come to Philadelphia we were able to see what Jaden Hardy has done for the Mavericks in this playoff run a player who’s kind of taken over for Tim hardaway’s minutes and he just gets buckets now he’s going to miss he’ll take seven shots in three minutes but some times you need that because if he goes three of seven that’s good production right there for a player who knows that the minutes that he is going to get night in Night Out might be minute so an automatic mid-range score tight handle and a good cross accurate passer limits turnovers heav heavily riing on jumpers might struggle to get to the cup a little bit struggled shooting threes off the catch but that dribble pullup triple where he can kind of gather his momentum step into the shot that’s his Forte but sneakily Nick nurse he does a good job of developing Shooters maybe he can do that with Carrington here chip your thoughts on this pick different than some of the other draft targets who we’ve talked about yeah I’m actually a big fan of this pick and I know Sixers fans are going to see freshman one year of college experience and think well he’s not going to come in and help us win right away that’s what we need I actually disagree I think despite being a Freshman Carrington can come in and make an impact Off the Bench immediately and as you said Chase you lose it De Anthony Melton you know Carrington won’t be the defender that Melton is but the Sixers need guys who can get a bucket and we’ve talked about you know signing a player like Malik monk Carrington’s kind of in that mold where very good with the ball in his hands can get to his shot not going to drive to the rim so much one of his deficiencies you know he doesn’t really get to the rim as much as you’d like to see for someone with his explosiveness and his speed but at 16 a young player who tremendous upside but also I think a high enough floor where you’d be willing to take the chance that this is a guy who you know when it comes down to it like in a playoff scenario you need people who can create their own shots create their own looks and create looks for others and I think Carrington can do that he did that at pit again still very young that’s why the inefficiencies were there because he was kind of shouldering that workload at pit as a young player but you get him in this system you get him developed you get him working with someone like Tyrese Maxi I think Ken could be a dangerous player not just this year he could be this year but especially a few years down the road yeah KOC is saying that he can come in and he can get minutes right away I think he’s obviously a back end of the bench type of player an affordable player that’s what the Sixers will need ideally if they can pick up a couple of players or at least a player who fits under that Max contract just like tyres Maxi will you need these young players to contribute and I’m always an advocate for Player Development within your organization now we go for pick 16 in the first round to pick 41 in the second round Osa igodo the center out of Marquette if you’re looking for a big who’s going to shoot who’s going to spread the floor and have range this is not your prospect he is going to hover right around the restricted area I will say Isaiah hartenstein with that push shot that caused the Sixers issues in the first round igodo kind of has that to his game a little push shot which is very effective with the touch because sometimes it’s difficult to guard when the big is kind of sagging toward the rim and you can go from 10 ft bing bang Kevin oconor on igar to Philly he could be the backup big the Sixers are looking for he could be a playmaker from his position meaning he could develop great Synergy with Tyrese Maxi and there’s even potential for unusual double big actions with Joel embiid you could put them on the low block I guess in saying that and then Joel EMB can kind of hover around the three-point Arc as he normally does I’m also intrigued by this to be frank well-rounded switchable Defender bigs nowadays look I know there’s been a Renaissance with some of these bigs who can’t shoot that’s fine you got to be able to defend on switches and igodo can do that in today’s NBA it’s almost Paramount that’s why I get concerns about Zack Edy at the next level in drop coverage off the pick and roll the pick and pop is he just going to be a revolving door now with igodo connective playmaking ability I’ve seen a pass out of the high post little bounce pass on that back door cut strong screener and roll threat on the lob Tyrese Maxi is so much touch around the rim with that floater imagine adding that lob threat to his Arsenal and I like that soft touch around the rim with that push shot he’s undersized and a non shooter those are the concerns and the production the last two years you might be concerned by it I’m really not that Marquette te this past year was really really good under shakka smart a good run in the NCAA tournament 13 points per game seven rebounds less than three assists 57.5% from the field a good shot blocker who can block and alter shots at The Rim who would you draft at 16 overall not number 41 but 16 overall shoot you want to share your thoughts on a 41st overall pick go ahead and do that don’t forget to subscribe thank you so much for supporting the channel and we’ll see you tomorrow here on 76ers now [Music]

  3. Leaving us? Dude has a shot back, he was never in OUR plans. And, you could are you he’s the reason we didn’t beat the Celtics in the playoffs last season, dude was bricking wide-open threes.

  4. If I'm the SIXERS I try and do a sign & trade with De'Anthony Melton and Jeff Dowtin Jr going to the BULLS for Alex Caruso & a draft pick at the end of the day I'd rather have Alex Caruso on the 76ers roster than Dowtin Jr & Melton!

  5. Sixers No let him go, Please rebuild the team, We need better shooters and size I like Drummond Lauri Bridges Caruso Zach Carter, Let's go Sixers 🔥🔥🔥💯

  6. He’s gonna have to sign a prove it anywhere & if thats the case, bring him back because he’s so close with tyrese & he’s a player I actually like a lot. He isn’t a starter or 6th man though!!! He needs 16-20ish minutes. Sad if he walks but I wouldn’t give him a multi year deal till i know his back is healthy

  7. Sign OG
    Sign KCP
    Trade for Lauri
    Resign Hield, Lowry, Batum
    Sign Drummond

    Maxey-KCP-OG-Lauri-Embiid
    Lowry-Hield-Oubre-Batum-Drummond

Hard to fit all of that in the cap space but it is possible
