[Woj] Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss are eager to formally discuss their vision with Hurley of marrying his dominant program — built upon both his tactical acumen and elite player development — to the storied Lakers’ brand, sources tell ESPN.

This coach is a back to back national champion
Holy shit. Did not expect this!
B2B champ…
Cook then, Rob.
Lock him in as long as possible
I feel bad for UConn and Dan, I’m sure he was never expecting to be offered the Lakers head coaching job when he said he was there to stay and build a perennial powerhouse.
I don’t care who you are or where you are coaching, turning down the HC job for the Lakers would be one of the toughest career decisions ever.
I personally believe something happened with jj. This is confusing maybe jj turned them down. OR they really wasn’t done and went after a guy who they thought they couldn’t get and he finally said yes. But I’ll tell you this. He gonna get lowballed because rookie nba coach and they will definitely pick his staff for him. He not just bringing a bunch of college assistants and think that’s gonna fly. Phil handy is definitely staying
I guess this FO is thinking about the future
new CBA really fucked up Super Teams from Free Agency
it’s about Drafting and Development now, having that window of opportunity open up when a defending champion has 2-3 years of contention then falling off
I think this is a good thing since the unforgiving salary cap restrictions will really force teams to develop young players instead of just relying on trades and free agency.
Hurley with his system and player development will allow the Lakers to build the team organically.
Maybe this is a shift of philosophy from wanting to have a big 3 to a more balanced roster.
So Im the only one still hoping for JJ Lol
