🚨 Woj: Lakers in a ‘full-court press’ to convince UConn’s Dan Hurley to come to L.A.

the Lakers over the next few days are in a full court press to convince Dan Hurley to come to La he has told them that he wants to hear them out and I think the Lakers Rob penka they want to put a program in place in La they don’t want to just have Coach to coach they want to put a program in for the long term they want Dan Hurley’s player development program the NBA is changing you can’t in La anymore just trade three or four first round picks to bring in a star player and think you can have a roster that can win that is how they got Anthony Davis but you are seeing you have to draft well you have to develop your young players and in La I think the belief is always you’re going to be able to get the star player uh who you know finds his way to LA but you’re going to have to grow your young players and the idea of bronny James and the Lakers they have the 55th pick who better potentially than Dan Hurley to be the development coach uh to lead his growth than the coach who’s you know really dominated the college sport you talk about you know uh x’s and O Acumen Player Development you know there’s been more than one NBA coach who has said to me in recent months talking about even as they’re watching tape on Yukon for Donovan kingan or or stefen Castle or others they talk about the sophistication of Yukon offense and I’ve had more than one coach say this would really translate to our league and certainly Rob palenka has recognized that and from day one of this Lakers search guys it has been Dan Hurley now they’ve interviewed other candidates they don’t know whether they can get Dan Hurley so they have certainly interviewed other candidates they have talked to other others but there has been one focus of this search and that’s yukon’s coach

Adrian Wojnarowski joins UNSPORTSMANLIKE to discuss the breaking news around the Los Angeles Lakers targeting UConn Huskies’ Dan Hurley as their next coach.

  1. Dan Hurley is a college coach he isn’t going to be no great coach in the nba it’s 2 different games.

Before arguing please show me which coach came from college and won in the nba ?

  2. Lakers fans would be pissed off if there still were some real Lakers fans left. 40% left with Kobe. The other 60% left when LeBron came.

  3. ITS FUNNY HOWNTHIS COMES PUTNAFTRR LEBRON JAMES ZINGS JEANNIE BUSS AND AUSTIN REAVES WITH HIS KYRIE IRVING COMMENT

  4. How about Bronny should have gone to UConn in the first place?! I’ve been saying this since before Bronny went to USC

  5. Stop all the Bronny talk kid isn’t ready. Lakers need to go in completely different direction and this could be the start.

  6. I wouldn’t do it. Legacy is more important than money considering what he’s achieved already. He’s just another guy in the league. He’ll have a chance to do something special at UConn that he’ll never replicate in the NBA.

You’ll get all the blame and none of the credit. Kidd and Mazula are the last people talked about in these Finals. Mike Budenholzer won a championship and like 70% of his games and then got fired because Giannis wasn’t happy. NO THANK YOU.

  7. This is all nice, but don't mention Bronny. He'll be drafted in the mid to high 30s come draft day. He wont be there later than that. You must realize he will bring fans in even while he's developing and stinking up the joint. People want to watch the young man. Some will only be critical; Some will believe in the young man. Either way, they'll be paying attention. That my friends is why his numbers wont matter once the 33rd pick goes off the board. Tick, tick, tick, until someone takes the chance on him while knowing they see a return on their investment even if he's out of league in three years. Watch. I know business really well, and the NBA is a business first.

  8. Go to the Lakers and become a pro coach, get that bag, maybe win, but have to deal with all the attitude & personalities.

OR … stay at UConn and become an all-time coaching legend.

  9. No one wants to coach LeBron because you can’t coach him. Spolestra was the last coach to have any real authority over him, and that’s because Riley backed him up and LeBron was locked in to his contract. He bounced as soon as he could, though. It wouldn’t be surprising to see this coach turn down the opportunity
